Three days later they were back in the middle of the Green Forest, near Hubleona.

“Are you sure you don’t want to go see your grandmother Daehyun?”

Youngjae asked.

“No. She wouldn’t understand my choice, but I will send her a letter when we get to the next town.”

“I recognize this place”

Youngjae said getting distracted from the topic.

“This is your old house.”

Said Yongguk and when they looked ahead, there was Youngjae’s old palace. It was still degraded and half of it was into ruins thanks to their battle a few weeks earlier.

Then Zelo saw something shining in the middle of the wreckage.

“What is this?”

He asked picking it up.

Suddenly he got shocked. The others ran to him.

“Are you ok? What happened?”

Youngjae was examining the object Zelo had just touched; it looked like a thin piece of wood. Something impelled him to pick it up.

“Don’t touch it!”

Zelo screamed, but it was too late. Youngjae was already holding it in his hands. Nothing happened.

“It’s my old wand.”

Said Youngjae.

“I mean, from before. I’m sure it doesn’t work anymore, don’t worry.”

“I wouldn’t be so sure.”

Daehyun pointed to Youngjae’s hands. There was a pink light coming from the wand.

Youngjae dropped it.

“We should destroy it”

Yongguk tried to pick it up but he got shocked just like Zelo before him.

“You, pick it up.”

He told Youngjae and he did so.

He tried to break it but nothing happened. The wood seemed fragile but it was as hard as iron.

Then they tried to set it on fire but the wand started casting pink fireworks and they also had to give that up.

“Maybe we could keep it.”

Daehyun suggested.

“No!”

Yongguk said immediately.

“That wand belonged to a dark witch, it must be destroyed.”

“But Youngjae can still touch it. Since he became good, maybe his wand is now good as well.”

Daehyun tried to get and explanation, but then Yongguk realized.

“You’re still a witch.”

He said to Youngjae.

“Exactly how old are you?”

“I don’t know…”

Youngjae answred frightened.

“I was kept alive by that dark witch for so much time, but I don’t know how long…”

“102 years.”

Zelo informed.

“It was 102 years ago when I created that evil power and when it captured you.”

“What!? I can’t be that old, I feel just fine!”

“Exactly!”

Yongguk pointed out.

“I was right! You still have a witch inside you.”

That said, he aimed his crossbow at Youngjae.

“No!”

Daehyun put himself in front of the other boy.

“Have you forgotten everything already? How you saved him before? How you saved Zelo?”

“Love made it right.”

Zelo understood.

“His wand is good now, and he can use it for good.”

“There is no such thing as a good witch”

Yongguk said still holding onto his crossbow.

“Get out of the way Daehyun so I can finish what I started.”

Suddenly Yongguk felt a pair of arms hugging him from behind and he let his weapon fall on the floor.

“Don’t do it.”

Zelo asked hugging him from behind.

“I’m sorry for all you’ve had to bear so far, but let’s try to cause no more suffering. I believe in Youngjae and Daehyun’s love for him. Let love win.”

“I know…”

Youngguk whispered.

“But… I’ve seen so much evil in this world… it’s hard for me to believe…”

“Then let me help you.”

Zelo turned Yongguk to face him and kissed him on his forehead. Yongguk blushed with embarrassment.

“I understand.”

He pushed Zelo away from him awkwardly.

“I’m sorry Youngjae. I’ll  try… not to kill you again.”

“Thanks.”

Youngjae smiled.

“Let’s carry on, we have to make it to the next town before sunset.”

Yongguk picked up his crossbow and walked ahead with a happy Zelo behind him.

Daehyun was about to follow them when Youngjae took hold of his arm.

“Is it true?”

He asked Daehyun.

“What is true?”

“That you love me… like Zelo said?”

“I…”

Daehyun blushed and scratched his head.

“I do.”

Then he ran away to follow the other two.

Youngjae looked at his wand and it was shining.
