I decided to call Sungbin the next day. He picked up the phone after some rings.

“Hey…” I said. “Are Your balls calmer now? You wanna talk?”

“I..ah…I’m with my girlfriend right now.” Sungbin replied.

That sounded familiar. Hmmm, our Yeeun had heard those words in English from her ex before. But I was actually not too affected by it.

“Alright then.. when do you wanna talk?” I asked Sungbin

I heard in the background an English speaking girl asking him who he was speaking to. Sungbin replied to her it was just the guys at IAB studio.

“Yub, can you meet me at the IAB studio in an hour? We’ll talk.” He made the appointment.

“Sure.”

I reached IAB studio and found Sungbin alone. He offered me a beer and we sat down on the couch.

Just like the chat we had at his apartment where we just sat silently and drank beer for some time without talking, we waited patiently for one of us to break the ice.

“I’m sorry if all that’d happened made you upset..” I finally spoke first.

Sungbin turned to look at me, almost surprised I had apologized first.

“But I’m not sorry for being with him.” I added and took a gulp of beer.

Another long silence as we sat drinking more beer.

Then Sungbin said. “You can’t blame me for reacting that way, Yub. It’s just…”

He paused, searching for words.

“Uncomfortable…” I helped him. “Unacceptable?”

“Yeah..” he sighed.

“Do you want us to break up?” I asked him directly.

“That’s not what I could force you to do.…” He shook his head and finished his beer.

“I know you feel betrayed but I hope you give it some time to accept it. It’s no one’s fault. We are not playing around here. I care about him, I…” Before I could finish, the doorbell rang and it startled Sungbin.

“It couldn’t be. The boys are out of the city.”
