Thank You
HiddenThey stopped by Ji Hyo’s home for a while for her to change into more presentable clothes and then headed to a popular amusement park in Pohang. Ji Hyo dragged Jong Kook onto many scary rides, much to the muscle man’s fear and protests. They had fun; running around and laughing their butts off. When it was time for lunch, they drove to the restaurant Ji Hyo recommended.
“They would make a lovely couple,” the owner of the restaurant whispered to her husband who was watching the two with a smile on his face, He had known Ji Hyo since she was young and he had never seen her quite that happy before.
He nodded his head in approval. “I like him much better than that Baek Chang Joo guy,” he said. When it was time to leave, Jong Kook and Ji Hyo politely thanked them for the food. The pair headed to the beach next. Ji Hyo immediately ran towards the sea, squealing like a little girl as she pulled Jong Kook along.
“Oppa, piggyback me. My legs are tired,” Ji Hyo whined with a cute pout. Jong Kook laughed and bent down a little for Ji Hyo to hop onto his back. They walked along the shoreline, salty breeze blowing gently as the evening sunlight shone down warmly. Ji Hyo rested her head on Jong Kook’s strong shoulders and sighed in contempt.
“I like today,” she whispered. “Today was nice.” At that, the corners of Jong kook’s mouth twitched up into a smile.
“I like today too,” he replied softly.
Being a gentleman that he is, Jong Kook insisted that he dropped Ji Hyo off right at her doorstep. Ji Hyo turned around to face Jong Kook. “So, are you reassured now?” she said jokingly.
“Yes, I am. Go in and rest well, okay? I’ll see you tomorrow for filming,” Jong Kook laughed a little. Ji Hyo nodded and smiled. They looked into each other’s without saying anything. Jong Kook had an urge to lean down and kiss her but Ji Hyo wasn’t his girlfriend. He coughed awkwardly and took a step back to the open lift doors. “Goodnight, Ji Hyo-yah,” he said with a warm smile.
“Wait,” Ji Hyo said suddenly ran inside the lift before the door closed. Without warning, she wrapped her arms around Jong Kook’s neck in a hug. “I just wanted to say thank you. I haven’t had this much fun in a long time.” Jong Kook slipped his arms around her waist, pulling her closer and breathing in her comforting scent. He could feel his heart flutter and his stomach twist when he Ji Hyo’s breath ran down the back of his neck.
“Me too,” he admitted. Ji Hyo released him and stepped out again.
“Goodnight,” she said. Jong Kook lifted his right hand in a wave, looking at her until the door closed shut.
