Kimberley's POV 2015

I watched as mom's handwriting appeared on her diary, letter by letter. The ink sank into the yellowish paper and dried up almost immediately. I have been reading mom's diary as she writes them down since I found out that the content in her diary disappeared page by page everyday and reappeared with changes that I've caused. Seeing what's happening in front of my eyes was almost like witnessing powers of wizardry, in fact, the whole concept of travelling back in time and whatever happened since was completely novel even to the society in 2045. I carefully touched the lines of words on the page, feeling the rhythm of mom's pen pressing against the paper. She must be over the moon now. Mom, why did you give this all up? This part of your life that brought you true happiness, why didn't you fight for it?

Dark clouds gathered menacingly in the sky, as if they've swallowed the sun. I paced myself while trying not to fall as my feet sank into the sand. "Mommy wait for me!!" She didn't look back, like she didn't look back when we ran away from home. The man came home completely battered. It didn't take me long to realise that I was about to witness another beating. "YOU!" He shouted at me. I was trembling as he walked towards me, with an empty beer bottle in his hand. "YOU! YOU ARE BETTER OFF DEAD! PIE IS MINE AND YOU ARE NOTHING! YOU KIM YOU!" I lost control of my limbs. He stared into my eyes and it sent shivers down my spine. "Da....d....dy..." He raised the beer bottle over his head while grabbing the collar of my shirt. I watched as he swung the bottle towards my head, and I screamed. "NOO!" Before I could react, mom grabbed the man's hand and gave it a yank. He let go of my collars and pushed mom away. She fell to the floor. "That's your daughter! What do you think you're doing?" she shouted at him. The man smashed his beer bottle against the wall behind mom while walking towards her. She started b
