Kimberley's POV, 2015

"The maximum value of x is....hmmm... 3? Pie am I correct?" I looked at mum and noticed that she hasn't been listening to me the whole time. She was giggling at her phone, paying zero attention to her surroundings. "Pie?" She didn't hear me. I took out my phone and started texting her. 

Me: Pie, what are you doing?

Pie: I am in the library doing maths. What about you?

I saw her text and stared at her. She was still giggling at her phone. Mum I am sitting right in front of you!!! How can you ask me where I am when I am right here and we were supposed to study maths together? 

I kept quiet and continued texting her. 

Me: Oh I am not doing anything now. Are we going to wait for Kim after school?

Pie: Yes. And you are coming.

Me: Well it depends if you are able to see me coz I have been sitting RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU for two hours and you haven't been listening to me.

Pie looked up and saw me. "Oh no Kimmy... Oh my god... How can I forget about you.. Hahahah I am sorry honey.. What were you saying?" I pouted. "It's strange how you can totally forget about my existence when Kim is texting you." Pie laughed. She apologized and promised that she would concentrate more. "Pie, how are you and Kim doing? What do you think about Kim?" "She is nice." "Pie, is there any chance that you might accept her?" She looked at me, and sighed. "Kimmy, it's not that easy to accept this relationship. I like Kim a lot, but as you can see my parents don't really like her to be around. I don't want to hurt them." She looked down and continued, "I need more time for this. Okay let's not talk about this. It's about time for us to go to the Arts Building." I smiled. Mum just said she likes Kim. All I have to do now is to convince grandpa and grandma to accept her. It wouldn't be easy but I will give it a try, no matter how long it takes. "Kimmy, you haven't told me about that new friend you made in Arts class." Mum asked while packing her stuffs. "Oh, her name is Jam. She sat beside me during arts class. She doesn't talk much though, I'll introduce her to you later." I smiled at mum. "Okay!"

I told mum about Jam on the way to the Arts Building. "It's kind of weird because I thought she hated me when we first met." I laughed. "But she came to me after that and we started talking."
