Eat Jin

YouTube Sensation [HIATUS]

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S BEEN 2 MONTHS SINCE I LAST UPDATED! I'M SORRY! I'VE BEEN MAKING SOME MAJOR CHANGES IN MY LIFE AND HAVEN'T HAD A WHOLE LOT OF TIME TO UPDATE. I APPRECIATE ALL THE READERS WHO'RE STILL ROCKING WITH ME, Y'ALL ARE LEGIT RIDE OR HOSPITAL! I'M SORRY FOR BEING SO NEGLECTFUL AND I'LL TRY TO DO BETTER! I HAVE ONE MORE CHAPTER TO UPLOAD...EITHER TOMORROW OR THE NEXT DAY...IT'S COMING!

It was one minute ‘til midnight and I was drinking with some friends…illegally…when my YouTube notification sounded. “I’m going to the bathroom,” I told the 6 other people huddled around the kitchen table. “BATHROOM!” they all shouted before downing shots of vodka. I looked at them strangely, I had no idea why they did that; we weren’t playing any drinking games. I shook my head and exited the kitchen.

I locked myself in the bathroom, closed the lid on the toilet, and sat on it. I frowned at my phone, “Why is V uploading videos on a Saturday?” I asked. Last time he uploaded something outside of his regular scheduling it was to showcase his and Kook’s mole elephants. Obviously this was another super random video that couldn’t wait. “Jin: In a Nutshell,” I mumbled the title to myself as I clicked on the video. Of course I was greeted by my cutie Tae’s smiling face and a waving Kookie in the background.

“Hey, V and Jung Kookie here,” Taehyung said quickly flashing his V sign, “I’ve got some footage I wanted to share with you all of our beloved Jin-hyung.” I grinned at them, they looked like they were walking down a hallway somewhere. “There’s no special reason for us uploading this video, we just wanted you to know more about our oldest hyung,” Kookie said walking past Tae to open a door marked, ‘EMERGENCY EXIT.’ I frowned and squinted at the screen, “What are you two up to?” I mumbled. They seemed to almost be running and there was an alarm blaring in the background.

“Sorry we seem to be in a rush…but we kinda have to get out of the building,” Taehyung said as he and his boyfriend jogged down the dingy grey stairs. “Tae pulled all the fire alarms on the hallway above us, we’re trying to get out of here before our landlord catches us and kicks us out,” Jung Kook explained. I shook my head in disappointment as Taehyung’s laugh echoed in the stairwell. He turned the camera on himself, “Anyways…enjoy this special footage of the very thing that makes our Jin-hyung the happiest,” he said as he and Tae burst outside where all the other residents were waiting.

I rolled my eyes and prepared myself for whatever epic-ness TaeKook had in store for me. I don’t know what I was expecting but, Jin eating an array of tasty dishes, I was not. He looked so flipping happy, let me tell you. After every bite he took he sighed in content, shook his head, and smiled hugely. It was so cute. And he wasn’t just taking small bites, he was shoving gigantic chunks of food in his mouth. His cheeks puffed up like a squirrel’s would.

He peered into the camera and gave me a sweet smile. He picked up a chunk of chicken and held it out to me to eat. I opened my mouth wide (must’ve been the alcohol), but pouted when he took it back and dropped it in his own mouth. I pouted as I watched him polish off the last morsels in a matter of minutes. He sighed again and leaned back in his seat, patting his full belly.

The screen went black for a second and then Jin popped up again, this time with a hamburger in his hands. His eyes landed on various things while he munched on his fat cheeseburger in content. “Hyung,” I heard Taehyung say from behind the camera. Jin looked at him with wide innocent eyes as he waited for him to continue. “Why are you always eating?” the younger asked. Jin glared at him, “I have a better question: Why are you kids always in my apartment?” he questioned back. I heard Tae his teeth, “Ah, you’re exaggerating Jin-hyung,” he waved off.

Soon as Taehyung said that, a wild Hoseok appeared from left field. He yawned loudly and stretched his arms over his head, “Ah, that was an excellent nap,” he said joining Jin and Tae and the table. I couldn't help but notice that Hoseok had an impeccably sharp jawline and an unforgivingly beautiful neck. Ugh.

Jin looked back at Hoseok in disbelief before shaking his head at the camera, “I didn’t even know he was here,” he said with a frown. He took a huge bite of his burger before turning back to Hoseok. “When did you get here, Hoseokie? And why are you here?” he queried with raised brows. Hoseok made a face at the camera, I giggled, and then he answered Jin’s question, “I was super tired when I got off work, so I decided to come here and sleep. I was too tired to drive all the way back to my apartment. Can I have a bite of that burger?”

Jin was reluctant for a second, but then rolled his eyes and held it out to his friend. Hoseok opened his mouth wide and prepared to take a huge bite. Jin pulled his burger back and popped Hoseok on the forehead, “Yah, don’t take such a big piece, J-Horse,” he scolded. Hoseok chuckled cutely and quietly apologized. He grabbed ahold of Jin’s hands to hold the food steady and took a comically tiny bite of the beef.

Taehyung laughed loudly at his friend’s antics, “Hobi-hyung, you are too much,” he commented. “One more bite,” Hoseok asked as Jin turned back to face Tae (and me). Jin elbowed his friend away and shook his head again. “These kids are so annoying sometimes,” he began a monologue, “It’s a burden being the oldest sometimes. Namjoonie-ah let them all make copies of the key I gave him and now they come and go as they please. No one ever calls, they just show up.” He let out a loud breath of exasperation.

“Ah come on hyung, we bring you food when we come don’t we?” Taehyung justified as he pointed to the remnants of Jin’s burger. Jin scoffed and shoved the rest of the burger in his mouth, “That’s the least you can do for all the care I give you kids,” he countered. Hoseok perked up behind Jin, “Which reminds me, I brought you doughnuts Jin-hyung,” he said standing up. Jin snatched Tae’s camera and I had to marvel at his perfectly attractive face for a second…he was seriously pretty. “These kids know do know the way to my heart, though, so I can’t be too annoyed with them,” he said with a genuinely happy grin on his face.

“Awww,” I cooed looking at my phone closer, “Such a loving family.”

Another cut screen and then Jin popped up shoveling salad bits into his mouth with his long oddly-jointed fingers. I chuckled a little, he looked like a llama. He was hunched over Tae’s camera; with the way he was looking off to the side, I’m not sure he knew the thing was on and recording him. I spotted Jimin cutely twirling around behind him singing sweetly. He stopped and placed his hands on Jin’s shoulders to steady himself.

“Jin-hyung, I didn’t know you ate salads,” Jimin said reaching over his shoulder to pluck a ripe strawberry slice. I watched thirstily as Jimin dropped the berry in his mouth and his red fingers. It was all very sensual. Jin nudged the younger away, “I’m trying to lose weight, I’m getting fat,” he answered sullenly. Jimin wrapped an arm around Jin’s chest and the other around the elder’s cranium, “Jin-hyung, you don’t need to lose weight,” he said patting Jin’s forehead through his fringe.

“Here, here,” I easily agreed…the guy was perfect. Jin tried to shake the younger off as he grabbed another handful of leafy food. “Yes I do, my pants have become more snug. I’ve been eating too much junk food,” he argued back. He popped the greens in his mouth before shoving the plastic container away. He grabbed another container filled with walnuts and began to crunch on those. He looked so unsatisfied.

“Hyung, trust me. You’re perfect the way you are,” Jimin assured while hugging Jin tighter, “No one would ever object to you.” Jin sighed and rolled a walnut bit between his thumb and index finger, “I’m not worried about everyone, just Namjoon. I don’t want him to think I’m fat because I gained a few pounds,” he mumbled fearfully. Jimin snorted and stole some nuts from the container, “Namjoonie-hyung is not shallow like that, hyung, and you know it. He loves you and that won’t change. So don’t force yourself to eat salads if you don’t like them. Eat what you want OK?” he lectured just a tad.

Jin smiled and nodded, “OK,” he conceded. Jimin nodded back, “Good boy.” Jin unhooked the younger’s arms and stood up. “Hyung where are you going?” Jimin asked the towering man. “To get some real food,” Jin answered turning away, “I’ll be in the cafeteria if you need me.” Jimin laughed and occupied Jin’s newly vacant seat. He picked up Tae’s camera and that’s when his eyes widened and the screen went blank.

My smile grew, they were so supportive and understanding of each other. They were like the ultimate friendship/squad goals. I needed to take some notes.

“Jin-hyung and Yoongi-hyung made ssam!” It was Kookie’s voice from behind the camera this time. He sounded cheerful, but Yoongi did not look as happy as Jung Kook seemed. “Yoongi-hyung just got scolded for cutting Jin-hyung off,” Jung Kook informed me. “Oh,” I sang out with a nod. Jin nudged his sulking comrade, “Say hello to Kookie’s viewers,” he instructed before waving and introducing himself. “Hello, I’m the handsome Chef Jin, am I coming out well on your end?”

I eagerly nodded, “Yes you are daddy,” I responded and then immediately slapped a hand over my mouth. Well I wasn’t expecting that, but Jin was very y!

Yoongi smiled and waved as well. His gummy smile lit up my world, I completely understood why Jimin was always trying to make him laugh. “Annyeong! It’s Min Suga” he said with an over-excited clap. Jin patted his friend’s back proudly, “Good job, now taste this,” he said shoving a lettuce wrap in his mouth. Yoongi fanned his mouth, but continued to eat…my guess was that the meat was too hot. “Hyungs are using both beef and pork for the ssam and they even sent me to the store to get fresh lettuce and vegetables,” Jung Kook explained, though no one asked. Obviously ssam was a huge deal for them.

“Only the best for our lettuce wraps,” Jin said as he flipped the frying meats, “We take ssam seriously in the family.” “Hyung, your beef tastes a little charred,” Yoongi honestly revealed after finally finishing the wrap forced down his throat. Jin cut his eyes at the younger, “You don’t have to eat, Min Yoongi,” he threatened. Yoongi merely nodded, “OK, I’ll only eat the pork,” he conceded. Jin nudged his friend again, “You know that’s not what I meant,” he juvenescently whined. “That’s what I got from it,” Yoongi easily replied as he adjusted his beanie.

I giggled, their bickering was too cute; I could tell they’d been friends for a while.

“Yoongi-ssi, show us how to properly eat ssam,” Jung Kook requested. He turned the camera on himself and my heart immediately felt uplifted. His cute bunny rabbit smile always put me at ease, HE WAS SUCH AN ADORABLE LITTLE BUN! “According to Yoongi-hyung, we’ve been eating ssam completely wrong,” Jung Kook told me through a laugh. He flipped the camera back on his hyungs and zoomed in a little closer.

“It’s not that they’ve been doing it the wrong way,” Yoongi said as he reached for a big leaf of lettuce, “They’ve just been doing it the stupid way.” “Show me the smart way then,” I challenged, even though I’ve never even had ssam. I would take notes for the future.

“You take the lettuce in one hand and grab a piece of meat with the other,” Yoongi said as his metal chopsticks plucked a piece of pork, “and eat it like so.” He placed the lettuce over his lips and centered the meat over it, and then he used the tips of the chopsticks to push it all into his mouth in one bite. I, as well as Kookie and Jin, burst out into laughter. It was the cutest thing I’d ever seen and he looked so proud and satisfied with life. He chewed his food confidently, but stopped momentarily to add some steamed rice in his mouth as well.

“So here’s my issue with that logic,” Jin said as he properly folded his lettuce around his beef, a chunk of kimchi, and a little rice, “How is what you ate still considered ssam? It’s not a wrap anymore.” I nodded my acceptance, Jin was right. Yoongi merely waved his hyung off, “That’s just splitting hairs, Jin-hyung,” he answered nonchalantly, “It’s still all the same stuff, I’m just eating it in a more efficient way.”

Jin shook his head and held the lettuce wrap up to Yoongi’s lips, “Try it now,” he urged. Yoongi shook his head and turned away, “I’m a grown man, I can eat on my own,” he protested. Why were all of TaeKook’s friends so flipping adorable? I couldn’t stand it. All I wanted was to be smack dab in the middle of all seven of them…like Snow White…and they could be my seven attractive not-dwarves.

“But I want you to try the beef again and if I don’t feed it to you, then you won’t eat it,” Jin justified. Yoongi sighed, rolled his eyes, and then nodded his head. “Good, say ah,” Jin directed as he held the wrap up to the younger’s mouth again. “Ah,” Yoongi’s deep and y voice echoed as he opened his mouth wide to accept the offered food. Jin held his hand under the wrap and shoved the food into his friend’s mouth. “Is it good, Yoongi-hyung?” Jung Kook asked zooming in further on his munching friend. Yoongi shook his head, “It still tastes burned,” he answered truthfully.

Jin pushed Yoongi’s chair away from him, “Fine Ungrateful Min, Jung Kookie will appreciate my cooking more than you,” he said before looking past the camera at Kook. “Yah, Jeon Jung Kook, come sit here and eat with your favorite hyung,” he ordered firmly. “Yes hyung,” Jung Kook automatically said before the camera cut his filming short. Such an obedient little bun.

Another cut screen and I couldn’t help but shake my head, they had hours of Jin eating. Clearly that was all that man did besides taking care of them like a mom would. Looks like they had the camera propped up on something this time and Jin had little trays of chicken nuggets laid out in a demi-radial fashion. He was eagerly rubbing his hands together with a pair of disposable chopsticks clenched between his teeth.

“He’s about to go in,” I knowingly said, I was excited for him. Everything looked so yummy. Jung Kook’s cute little face leaned over the side of the table so he could peer into the lens of the recording camera. “Hyung bought some interesting flavored chicken and he’s allowing me to try one of each kind,” Jung Kook informed before moving around the table to stand beside his friend.

He bent his knees and hunched over the table and rested his weight on his elbows, “What are the flavors again, Jin-hyung?” he asked curiously. Jin pulled apart his chopsticks, “They’re all fruit flavors: strawberry, banana, watermelon, and honeydew melon,” he told him as he pointed to each tray with a chopstick, "I got them from the Chinese restaurant behind my apartment complex." Jung Kook nodded as his friend continued, “We’ll go from right to left, starting with strawberry.”

He picked up a small oblong chicken chunk and dropped it into his mouth. “Ooh,” he exclaimed in surprise, “It’s good!” Jung Kook crouched down next to the elder, “Let me taste,” he commanded and opened his mouth like a baby bird.

Jin chose a nice sized piece for the younger and placed it in his open trap. “Mmm,” Jung Kook said while his tongue darted out to the sauce from his plump bottom lip, “It’s not as sweet as I thought it would be.” Jin nodded his agreement, “Right, I think they balanced the sweetness out with some spices. I’m pretty sure I tasted a little chili powder,” he expertly commented.

“What’s next hyung?” the bouncing bunny boy queried. “Banana,” he said picking up a piece and holding it out to the younger. Jung Kook quickly covered his mouth and shook his head stubbornly. Jin frowned, “Why not?” he asked sniffing it. “I’m not so sure about how chicken and banana would mix, let’s save that one for last,” he suggested. “OK, OK,” the elder agreed with an understanding nod. He pushed the yellowed chicken aside and pulled a different tray of fruit poultry closer.

“This one is watermelon,” he informed Kookie while picking up a pink chicken nugget. I grimaced, “These kids are daredevils,” I muttered, because I simply WOULD NOT. Then again, I could eat orange chicken all day, everyday if given the chance so maybe it wasn’t as weird as it seemed.

“It tastes exactly like how it sounds,” Jin said offering the younger a piece as he chewed on his diligently, “The watermelon just sits on top of the chicken.” He seemed truly disappointed with that one. “So you don’t like it?” Jung Kook asked in surprise, his knobby fingers were already reaching for a second helping. Jin shrugged and jabbed Jung Kook's hand with the gooey ends of his chopsticks, “Not really, but I might save it and use it in one of my own recipes,” he thought aloud.

Jung Kook grabbed a napkin to wipe his hand off, “Or you can let me have them because I really like them,” he volunteered. Jin eyed the younger because it seemed that even if he wasn’t fond of the food, he wasn’t too keen to just giving it away. “So selfish,” I laughed out. “OK Jung Kookie, you can have them,” he finally agreed. Jung Kook clapped in satisfaction and, let me tell you, he looked so flip-flopping cute I almost couldn’t deal. Anyways…

Jin placed the tray of melon chicken between them, “Honey dew is next,” he said. He grabbed a huge chunk and bit off half and then offered the other half to the baby. I wish I could share food with one or both or all of them. My thirst was too real for these boys. “It’s funny, this one is sweeter than the strawberry one,” Jung Kook evaluated with a curious of his head.

Jin nodded his agreement, “I think it’s because honey dew isn’t as overpowering as strawberry, they didn’t have to lace it with anything,” he told the younger. “If I ever had any doubt this man was chef,” I muttered through my smile. He spoke so elegantly about food. I loved it.

Jung Kook let out a shaky breath, “OK Jin-hyung, let’s try the banana one,” he consented. He eyed the chicken as Jin dug out a small chunk to give him. He slowly opened his mouth and let the elder feed him the banana-flavored meat. His eyes popped open and his face tinted the slightest shade of green. He hastily grabbed a napkin and spat the chicken into it.

“Oh god, that is awful,” he exclaimed as he took a swig of the water on the table. Jin gave him a look of pure confusion as he shoved two huge chunks in his mouth at once, “I like it,” he said around the food. Jung Kook’s face held complete disgust, “There’s something wrong with your taste buds,” he told the elder. Jin nudged the younger’s shoulder and watched him teeter and fall on his hindquarters. “You little brat, your palette isn’t as sensitive and heightened as mine,” he condescended.

Jung Kook chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck, “I guess not,” he easily agreed. He stood up and made his way to the camera, “There we have it,” he said shoving his perfect face into the camera again, “We’ll end it here so Jin-hyung can eat the rest of his chicken in peace, and I also have a class to attend,” he said as he picked up the camera. He turned and pointed it at Jin, who was busy dipping a melon flavored nugget in some of the strawberry residue. I guess he was hoping that would make the honeydew chicken taste better.

“Say goodbye hyung,” he encouraged. Jin smiled brightly and waved at me (the camera), “Goodbye, I’m handsome Seokjin and I’m going to eat everything. YAY!” he adorably signed off. Jung Kook scooped up the tray of watermelon chicken and turned the camera to face himself, “Wish me luck in class,” he requested, “I hate this class, but at least I have a snack to enjoy.”

“Oh my GOD! How much footage do you two have of this man eating?” I questioned as Taehyung and Jin popped up on my phone screen. They had plates of food spread out around them as well. Taehyung held his hands out to the camera, “Jiminnie, give me my camera back,” he ordered. “Yah, be quiet and eat,” Jimin's high-pitched voice laughed back.

I grinned when Tae gave him a stale face and then he turned to look at Jin who was busy stuffing bread into his mouth. “Hyung, Jimin won’t give me my camera back,” he tattled like a deep-voiced preschooler. Jin frowned at V, “Do I look like your mother?” he asked before jamming a piece of beef in his mouth to mingle with the bread. “YES,” Tae and Jimin answered in perfect unison.

Jin rolled his eyes and turned his attention back to his smorgasbord, “Jimin, give Tae his camera back,” he finally commanded. Jimin giggled and automatically responded, “In a minute, hyung.” He zoomed in on Tae making weird faces behind Jin’s back and added, “Besides, I think you should be more annoyed by TaeTae mouthing bad words behind your back.” I snorted as Tae’s eyes widened.

Jin’s head turned sharply and he glared at the younger. He was mid-chew and his cheeks were red and full. “Hyung, I didn’t!” Taehyung quickly said as he held his hands up defensively, “I promise! Jimin is lying.” He honestly looked afraid of Jin and I thought it was hilarious. Jin pointed his chopsticks at V’s throat, “Kim Taehyung, you wanna die?” he questioned darkly. “Hyung, Jimin is lying, I swear,” the younger plead his case, “I was only making funny faces.” Jin and Tae couldn’t hear it, but Jimin was cackling behind the camera. I had no idea he was a starter.

“I’ve never lied to you, Jin-hyung,” he finally piped up. Jin seemed to take his word for it too. He dropped his chopsticks and caught Taehyung in a headlock. “Jiminnie is my good son, if he says you cursed me then you probably did,” Jin sided with Jimin, “You’re always up to no good.” “Park Jimin, you’re dead,” Taehyung threatened as he attempted to break free. Jimin laughed and set the camera down on the table, “I think I see Hobi-hyung, Yoongi-hyung, and Namjoonie-hyung coming this way; I’ll go meet them,” he said before scurrying off. Taehyung held his hand out in Jimin’s direction and continued to try to get away.

I shook my head; these guys were way too dramatic sometimes. There was another cut scene and I saw Taehyung’s camera trying to focus on something in the distance. “And here we have captured a rare moment on camera,” Taehyung’s voice quietly said, “Jin-hyung is willingly sharing his food.”

It was such a cute sight. Jin and Namjoon were sitting in front of a lake, swapping their food. “Namjoonie-hyung is probably the only person in the whole entire world that Jin-hyung would happily share his food with. If that’s not true love then I don’t know what is,” Taehyung mumbled in awe, “Like, I honestly think that Namjoon-hyung outranks food on Jin-hyung’s list of things most important to him.”

He turned the camera to face him, and I swooned just a little bit. He was so damn HANDSOME! “The list goes: Namjoon-hyung, food, his parents, and then us dongsaengs,” he informed through a giggle before turning the camera back on the happily eating couple. “Look, look! He’s wiping the corner of Namjoonie-hyung’s mouth. Aren’t they sweet?” Was Taehyung actually fanboying over them? “I swear they’re like an old married couple sometimes, hopefully Jung Kookie and I can be completely familiar with each other like that,” he said enviously.

The screen went black for about 10 seconds before TaeKook popped up again. They were outside surrounded by flashing police lights and a fire truck. “There you have it, Jin in a nutshell. All he does is eat and take care of us,” Taehyung said, “And we’ll end it here because, as you can see, I actually made the police and fire people show up.”

He panned his camera around to show the 2 squad cars, the fire truck, and then the firemen running in and out of the building. “Come on, hyung, let’s go hide out at Jin-hyung’s until the chaos dies down,” Jung Kook suggested as he tugged on his boyfriend’s arm. Taehyung nodded and held the camera above their heads, “Until next time, pretty viewers,” he said flashing his V sign. “And promise you won’t tell the police it was Tae who pulled the fire alarm,” Jung Kook added with a half-grin (swoon again) and a wave.

“I can’t believe I just watched a 12 minute video of a man and his children eating food,” I muttered in disbelief as I stood up from the toilet seat, “What has my life come to?” Despite the disappointment I felt with my current life choices, I hit the like button on the vide anyway. I opened the bathroom door and proceeded to rejoin my drinking buddies. “Are you guys ing serious?” I snapped. My stupid friends had passed out on the floor. I shook my head and weighed my options. I could either walk home, because I decided to ride with my roommate, or I could get comfy on the big couch to my left and watch more TaeKook videos. “TaeKook?” I asked myself and immediately answered, “TaeKook.”

I kicked off my sneakers, tiptoed around my snoring friends, and plopped down on the plush comfy sofa.
