" Go change. Be out in five minutes," Myungsoo said sternly. Hye Rin frowned and nodded her head. She dashed into the toilet. Thankfully, she brought her makeup pouch. Hye Rin quickly changed in one of the cubicles. She chose a simple white dress shirt and paired it with a black tight skirt.  She wanted to try more combinations but she only had ten minutes. Hye Rin applied an appropiate amount of makeup on her face. Minutes later, she was ready.She put on a blue cardigan as a finishing touch. Hye Rin hesitantly stepped out of the toilet. She looked around warily. " Looking for me?" Myungsoo's voice rang out from behind her. Hye Rin froze and turned around. Myungsoo was smirking. Hye Rin's eyes widened and she immediately turned her back. Myungsoo raise his eyebrows in confusion. He looked at her from head to toe. Good, she looks nice. Damn, those legs. Myungsoo returned to smirking when Hye Rin turned back to him. Her face was emotionless. " So, where do I start?" Hye Rin asked. Myungsoo hummed and led the way to the highest level. Hye Rin breathed out and smacked her forehead. They walked towards the elevator and went inside. 

It was so awkward and tensed. Myungsoo was tapping his foot while Hye Rin was fiddling with her fingers. She became to grow nervous. She never had any friends before. She was scared that she won't be able to mix well with her other colleagues. Hye Rin's shoulders were hunched with worry. Myungsoo looked over her and snickered. Her nervousness and worriedness could be seen all over her body. The elevator came to a stop at the 15th floor, the highest floor. They stepped out of the elevator and walked towards a humongous wooden door. He stopped infront of it and faced Hye Rin. Hye Rin skidded to a stop. " This will be your office," Myungsoo boringly said. He pointed at another wooden door at the side. Hye Rin waked towards her new office and opened it. It was simple office furnished with modern furniture. Hmm, he do have a taste in furniture. A Macbook were already placed on her mahogany desk. Hye Rin gaped at her small but classy office. " Due to your highly experience in accounting, I have put you as my advisor manager. You will be in charge of the banking and financial issues here." Hye Rin scoffed. "I'm not stupid alright. I know what a advisor manager does." Myungsoo rolled his eyes. "My secretary will bring in the papers so you may start working later." Hye Rin nodded her head while looking around. Myungsoo walked out of the office, leaving Hye Rin alone. 

Hye Rin breathed out. I'm finally alone. Myungsoo was by her side the whole time and she couldn't help but feel suffocated. Hye Rin quickly arranged her things on her desk and in the cabinet. Minutes later, Myungsoo's secretary knocked on the door. Hye Rin called him to enter. He looked like he was forty. "This is the files and accounts of the finances of the company." Hye Rin smiled and Myungsoo's secretary returned her smile warmly. He left the office, leaving Hye Rin alone. Hye RIn opened one of the files and her face lit up. Finally, I get to do some proper work. Hye Rin stretched her arms and flexed her neck. She immediately started her work. Unknown to her, Myungsoo was watching Hye Rin from the door. He smiled faintly and went back to his office.

Five hours have passed and Hye Rin just finished organising the files. She unknowingly yawned and stretched her limbs. She stood up and went to get coffee at the coffeemaker that was placed along in her office. Suddenly, she heard the door opened and a familiar beat of footsteps walking towards her. Hye Rin had stuck by Myungsoo's side for so long that she could even identify his footsteps. That fact scared her. " What do you want Myungsoo? I've already do- Hey! What are you doing?" Hye Rin suddenly exclaimed. Myungsoo had come up behind her and wrapped his long arms around Hye Rin's petite waist. Myungsoo quickly went down and whispered at her ear, "My dad is coming up. He was the one who told me to get a girl, so stop squirming and look natural." Hye Rin gulped as she was nervous at Myungsoo's tone of voice and the fact that his lips were barely touching her ear. Suddenly, the sound of the lift arriving could be heard. Hye Rin stiffened. Myungsoo pinched her waist after noticing her posture. Hye Rin flinched in pain. She glared at Myungsoo. Myungsoo just smirked sheepishly." Hye Rin-ah, was the work too hard for you? Should I lessen it? Why not we go home and I will cook dinner for you? Hm, how does that sounds to you?" Myungsoo asked when he heard his father's footsteps near the door. Hye Rin immediately burst out laughing. She was clutching Myungsoo's hand around her while laughing genuinely. Myungsoo looked down questioningly but couldn't help but feel that her laugh was one of the most wonderful laugh he has ever heard. 

Hye Rin turned around and bravely circled her arms around Myungsoo's neck. She could see Myungsoo's father watching them intently through the door that Myungsoo had left open purposely. " Are you sure? The last time I checked you nearly burned the whole kitchen when you tried cooking breakfast for me." Myungsoo shyly looked down while scratching his neck. Hye Rin was startled to see Myungsoo acting so shy around her. However, she brushed it off and assumed that it was all an act. "Hey, at least I tried okay? Not like that someone who needed a cup of coffee after working for a mere five hours." Hye Rin frowned and hit Myungsoo at his chest. Myungsoo laughed wholeheartedly. Suddenly, a knock erupted from the door. Hye Rin and Myungsoo quickly detach from each other. Hye Rin pretended to look embarrased by looking down at the ground shyly. "Oh dad, you're here. Um, I just finished my work and was planning to go home." Myungsoo said after a moment. Myungsoo's father, Mr Kim, grinned and replied cheekily, "And it seems that you have company with you." Myungsoo grinned and pulled Hye Rin to his side with his arm around Hye Rin's shoulder." Dad, meet my girlfriend," Myungsoo said proudly. Mr Kim's face immediately contorted in happiness. He could practically sense the happiness oozing out of his son." Well, It seems that you finally followed my orders. Congrats son. I'm proud of you." Mr Kim praised his son. Myungsoo's heart jumped for happiness when he heard his father praising him. It's been a long time since he last heard his father praised him. However, his shoulder slumped suddenly when his father said, "I hope your mother was here to witness the scene that I saw with your beloved girlfriend." Myungsoo's eyes immediately darkened. Hye Rin noticed that and touched his hand gently. Myungsoo looked down and saw the worried look on her face. He softened and stand straight up. 

"Dad, I would like so much to intorduce my girlfriend now but now isn't a good time. I'm tired and she's tired. Why not we do the introductions another time?' Myungsoo said, losing the shine in his voice. Mr Kim raised his eyebrows questioningly but brushed it off. He nodded and walked away with his entourage following closely behind him. Myungsoo heaved a sigh of relief. Suddenly, he could feel someone's stare on him. He looked down and saw Hye Rin's stare. Myungsoo rolled his eyes and went to grab Hye Rin's handbag." Come on, let's go home." Hye Rin meekly followed him to the parking lot and and went inside the car. The whole ride was awkward and quiet. Hye Rin didn't dare to ask anything from what had happened. They finally arrived at the apartment. The both of them went out of the car and took the elevator. Hye Rin entered the passcode to his house and went in first. Myungsoo stooped down to take off his shoes when he suddenly saw the two big bruises on Hye Rin's thighs. By then, his curiosity got the best of him and lunged forward and grabbed Hye Rin by her arm. Hye Rin jumped in shock. "What's wrong with you?" Hye Rin asked, annoyed.

"Where did you get those two bruises on your thighs?' Myungsoo asked sternly. Hye Rin's eyes widened. Oh . She looked down and saw them. She mentally knocked her head for not reapplying the makeup on her legs. "Uh, I was cleani-" " Don't you dare lie to me, Park Hye Rin." Hye Rin gulped hearing Myungsoo saying her name in full. Hye Rin sighed and looked down. Soon, her eyes began to water as thought of the years she was kept imprisoned in the hell of the mansion and was physically and verbally abused. Myungsoo grabbed Hye Rin's chin and forced her to look up. Myungsoo's heart raced when he saw Hye Rin's eyes b with tears. A tear finally dropped. Without thinking, Myungsoo pulled her and hugged her tightly. Hye Rin immediately felt warmth engulfing her. She felt comforted in his arms. Hye Rin's tears began to flow freely. Soon, she was sobbing. Myungsoo's heart broke down a little after he saw Hye Rin's state. He wrapped his arms around her more tightly. Myungsoo murmured soothing words to Hye Rin to calm her down.

A few minutes later,Hye Rin finally calmed down while sitting down on the couch with a cup of tea in her hands. " Now, do you mind telling me where you got those bruises?" Myungsoo asked the minute he sat down on the couch beside her. Hye Rin sighed." I was physically abuse too by my stepmother and sister. They used to beat and slap me for no apparent reason when I was younger. Sojin had tried to cut my long hair once but Jimin managed to stop her. However, the beatings got worse when I began growing up. I guess they saw me as a competition as they assumed that I was much more prettier and smarter than Sojin. I got kicked and pummeled almost everyday. That night after you came for the first time, I got the most worst beatings ever. Mrs Park even tried to throw a vase at me but Jimin also managed to save me again. By that time, I was half-conscious. I had to crawl back to my room and attended to my own wounds. It was painful. Having nobody to support you and save you from all that was depressing. Somehow deep in my heart, I wished that I had met you sooner," Hye Rin confessed. Her shoulders felt lighter now after saying out to someone. Even her most trusted aunt didn't know about this. Unknowingly, tears stared to to form once again. She really hated her life back then. Suddenly, she remembered that Myungsoo was still there. Hye Rin hesitantly looked up and met with Myungsoo's disbelief eyes. Hye Rin scoffed. "You don't need to feel pity towards me. I'm fine now and I'm glad that I met you. By the time we end this relationship, I will be able to travel around the world just as how I wished for my future to be," Myungsoo's heart clenched when Hye Rin mentioned about the contract. "I'm sorry you had to go through that," Myungsoo mumbled. Hye Rin faintly smiled and shooked her head.

"Are there any more bruises on your body?" Myungsoo suddenly asked. Hye Rin looked up alarmed," Uh-uh, off- ccourse." Myungsoo's eyes suddenly blazed in anger." Show them to me NOW," he demanded. Hye Rin gasped." What are you talking about?" "Just show me now!" Myungsoo flared. Hye Rin shrunk in fear and turned around. She hesitantly ed her dress shirt. Thank goodness she was wearing a tank top underneath. When the dress shirt is stripped off her. Myungsoo's eyes widened at the sight of the many bruises on her neck and back. Myungsoo carefully lifted up her tank top. Unknowingly, his eyes darkened. There were so many scars, both fresh and old. Myungsoo grazed his fingertips on Hye Rin's bruises. Hye Rin flinched slightly. Myungsoo almost broke down when he saw how Hye Rin reacted." I'm going to make them pay." Hye Rin turned around, shocked. " No don't. Its not going to do us any good. Its all in the past so you don't have to get work up over it." Hye Rin stood up and took her shirt, leaving Myungsoo alone in the living room. Myungsoo remained in his seat, speechless. Why am I getting worked up over those bruises? Its not like me at all. Many thoughts ran through his head. But he was very sure of one of his thought. I care for her.
