“Tiffany?”

“Yuri?”

Tiffany was surprised to see her roommate at the bar. She has called Yuri informing the girl that she’ll be coming home late but her roommate didn’t mention of being home late as well.

“Hiiiiii!”

Tiffany saw her roommate give her a sheepish smile. But what caught Tiffany’s attention was the pretty girl clinging unto Yuri’s arm and standing too close to her roommate.

“Uhhh… Jiyeon, this is Tiffany my roommate. Tiffany this is Jiyeon my---”

“Hi Tiffany unnie! Nice to meet you!” Jiyeon interrupted Yuri’s introduction and beamed a smile at Tiffany.

Tiffany could only accept the hand and force an awkward smile. She mentally wanted to smack the young girl for interrupting Yuri. Now she’s even more curious as to how the two girls are related. Is she an ex-girlfriend? But Yuri doesn’t swing that way. Does she?

Tiffany wasn’t sure how she looked because the next thing she heard was Yuri explaining her unexpected presence at the bar.

“Uhhh… I was at home when this kid suddenly called and asked me to pick her up from her place. She just came from Japan and visited me here.” Yuri carefully explained. She felt guilty for not telling her roommate earlier that she will be coming home late as well.

“Ohh. Okay.” Tiffany could only nod. Her eyes constantly stealing glances at the two girls’ linked arms.

“Hey girls.”

Just then the three were interrupted when a tall guy approached their table.

“Oppa. You’re back.”

Yuri saw Tiffany greet the guy who just joined their table. She was pretty sure it was the same guy she saw at the mall. The one Tiffany hugged upon its arrival at the restaurant. You again. Who are you?

“Yuri, Jiyeon, this is Siwon oppa. Siwon oppa this is Yuri my roommate and her FRIEND Jiyeon.” Tiffany introduced the guy to the rest of the girls.

Tiffany wasn’t sure if she saw it correctly but she somehow saw the sudden change in Yuri’s expression as her roommate accepted the guy’s hand for a handshake. She would sound assuming but the way Yuri was responding to Siwon’s friendliness was not too genuine. She confirmed this when she held the guy’s arm and pulled him to sit beside her. She saw Yuri clench her jaw as she tried to chat with them. You’re falling into the trap Kwon Yuri. Tiffany stopped herself from smirking as she observed Siwon befriending the girls. But Tiffany’s celebration was immediately cut-off when she saw Jiyeon shake Yuri’s arm while showing her roommate aegyo.

“Unnieee~ come on let’s dance! It’s my favorite song!” Jiyeon kept shaking Yuri’s left arm pulling the girl to stand up.

“What?! Jiyeon you know I don’t like to dance.”

“But unnieee! I came all the way from Japan just to see you and you treat me this way? How inconsiderate. Pffft.” Jiyeon crossed her arms and sulked while sitting beside Yuri.

“Oh come on Jiyeon-ah… don’t sulk. Don’t give me that look please.” Yuri tried coaxing her dongsaeng.

“Pffft.” Jiyeon turned her head the other way still sulking.

“Ohmygahhd. Just how old are you already? Don’t sulk like that.” Yuri tried poking the girl’s cheeks. The two were obviously close to each other.

“But the song is about to end. You know it’s my favorite song unnieeee.” Jiyeon whined as she faced Yuri.

“Fine. Fine. Come on let’s dance. Aish. This kid.” Yuri then stood up shaking her head as she finally gave in to Jiyeon’s demands.

“Yaay! You’re the best Yuri unniee!” Jiyeon excitedly stood up and clung unto Yuri’s arm.

“Excuse us Fany, Siwon-ssi.” Yuri then walked away with Jiyeon still clinging unto her arm grinning widely like a kid granted lollipop.

A frown formed unto Tiffany’s face as she stared at the two figures leaving their table.

“Never thought humans could also be koalas.” Tiffany blurted out. She was obviously pissed at how the young girl acted around Yuri and how her roommate gave in to the girl’s demands. Unnieee~ whatever.

Yuri couldn’t help but shake her head and smile as she watched Jiyeon dance into the music. She was somehow used to this scenario whenever her friends and Jiyeon would hang out while she was in Japan. Jiyeon was one of the first few people Yuri knew when she transferred to Japan. She will forever be grateful to Jiyeon for helping her cope up into the new country. Jiyeon has become Yuri’s instant best buddy and best dongsaeng. They shared a lot of things that only the two of them swore to keep.

Yuri was enjoying her dongsaeng’s antics when she saw Tiffany walk into the dance floor followed by Siwon. Yuri unconsciously clenched her jaw as she observed Tiffany giving the guy her infamous eyesmile. The girl was obviously enjoying dancing along with the music and dancing with Siwon.

“Keep it cool unnie. You’re too obvious.” Yuri heard Jiyeon whisper to her ear.

“What are you talking about?” Yuri maintained a straight face as she faced Jiyeon.

“Oh come on. You really want to deny it unnie? To me?” Jiyeon wore a smug face and a smirk as she pointed Tiffany with her lips.

“There is nothing going on between us. Stop assuming things.” Yuri shook her head.

“That’s what you always say unnie. Come on. Don’t be shy. Tiffany unnie is quite a catch you know. She’s really pretty.” Jiyeon grinned. Still not convinced at Yuri’s denials.

“I know she’s pretty. But I think there is something going on with her and that Siwon guy.”

“Hmmm… You want me to ask her?”

“Yah! Don’t you dare!” Yuri head locked Jiyeon which caused the girl and eventually Yuri to burst out laughing.

Tiffany saw Yuri headlocking Jiyeon and two laughing on the dance floor. So childish. Tiffany snorted as she kept her glance at the two on the dance floor. She was becoming annoyed and frustrated seeing how close the two were so Tiffany decided to turn her back on them and just enjoy the music with Siwon. After a while of dancing, Siwon excused himself for an important phone call. Just then the music turned into a slow one. Tiffany was about to leave the dance floor but someone held her wrist. When she turned she was surprised to see Yuri standing in front of her.

“Can I have this dance?”

Tiffany was at a loss for words. Yuri was standing in front of her asking her for a dance.

“Uhhh…Jiyeon got a call from her mom and I saw you standing alone. So…. can you dance with me instead?”

Yuri’s gaze was making Tiffany shudder. Her heart almost jumped out of her ribcage when Yuri held her hand and placed it behind the girl’s neck. Tiffany held her breath when Yuri slowly placed her hands on Tiffany’s waist. Their close proximity is making it hard for Tiffany to breathe normally.

Yuri could feel her blood vessels pulsating. It was taking every fiber of her being to act cool in front of Tiffany. She could feel her hands burning as she placed them on Tiffany’s waist. Now she’s starting to regret asking Tiffany for a dance.

“I thought you don’t like to dance?” Tiffany steadied her voice as she broke the awkward silence between them. But locking gaze with Yuri was something Tiffany was starting to lose battle. Yuri’s gaze was making her feel drawn into something deeper.

The song “Loving You” filled the room as Tiffany and Yuri locked gaze at each other. Tiffany wanted to know but she wasn’t sure what was going on inside Yuri’s head. The girl’s expression was hard for her to read.  If she was to rate her feelings for Yuri just at this moment, Tiffany could give it an 8. She was definitely liking her roommate in stupid ways she couldn’t explain.

“Didn’t want the band’s effort to go to waste.” Yuri smiled and pulled Tiffany closer letting their bodies be in sync with the music. Right at the moment Yuri wouldn’t want anything else but just to stare at Tiffany’s eyes. The same eyes which would disappear into crescent moons when happy. And the same eyes which would send her dagger glares whenever annoyed. Somehow, somewhere, Yuri wanted everything around them to stop and just let her and Tiffany take the night together. But like the lyrics of the song, she’s afraid and she doesn’t know what to do of the strange feeling she’s been feeling.

When the song ended, Tiffany and Yuri silently went back to their table. A seemingly invisible wall suddenly appearing between them creating an awkward atmosphere. After a while of just sitting in front of each other saying nothing, Jiyeon came in and joined their table.

“Hello unnies!” Jiyeon beamed a smile as she made herself comfortable beside Yuri.

Tiffany could only send the girl daggers through her mind. The skinship between Jiyeon and Yuri that night was too much for Tiffany’s liking.

“What did your umma say?” Yuri asked Jiyeon as she fixed the girl’s messy hair.

If only the dagger’s inside Tiffany’s head were to come out and become real, Jiyeon and Yuri must have been murdered by now.

“She says she’ll only be at ease if I stay with you.” Jiyeon sulked.

“I see.” Yuri chuckled. She was happy knowing that Jiyeon’s mother still considers her as the girl’s big sister even after months of not seeing the old woman.

“I can’t believe umma.” Jiyeon crossed her arms still sulking.

“You’re still not used to it Jiyeon-ah?” Yuri was wearing an amused smile as she observed her dongsaeng.

Jiyeon shook her head. “Hey unnie, can you stay with me at the hotel?”

“H—huh?” Yuri was caught off guard with the girl’s inquiry. She immediately glanced at Tiffany’s direction. Staying with Jiyeon would mean leaving Tiffany alone at the apartment.

“You said I can’t stay with you at your apartment. Can you stay with me at the hotel then?” Jiyeon held Yuri’s hand pleading with her puppy eyes.

“B—but Jiyeon-ah if I stay with you then Tiffany will be left alone at----”

“It’s okay. I’m fine. Don’t worry about me.” Tiffany tried to sound cheerful.

“But Fany…” Yuri wanted to protest.

“It’s fine really. I’ve stayed at the apartment alone for a couple of months since Sica left. So it’s no big deal.” Tiffany tried to sound more convincing.

“You sure?” Yuri was still hesitant of leaving Tiffany alone at the apartment.

Tiffany nodded and smiled. Even giving a thumbs up to be more convincing. Though deep inside she was screaming NOOOO.

After a while of a chatting a little bit longer, Jiyeon and Yuri bid their goodbyes. They had to head home ahead because Jiyeon hasn’t unpacked her things yet. Tiffany could only smile and wish the girls safe trip on their way home.

When Tiffany reached the apartment she momentarily stopped outside her bedroom. She glanced at Yuri’s bedroom door and glared at it as if it was Yuri. After being satisfied of her doing, she then went inside her room and took a quick shower. After getting herself ready for bed she threw herself on the mattress and stared at the ceiling. Her mind wandered about the scene at the bar. About the slow sweet dance she shared with Yuri. The unreadable expression on Yuri’s face and the way the girl gazed at her.  If only not for Jiyeon, it would have been a great night for Tiffany. Jiyeon. What are you to Yuri? What special bond do you share? Why would your mother entrust you to Yuri? Are you sharing the same bed at the hotel tonight? OHMYGAHHD! YURI IS A HUGGER WHEN SHE SLEEPS! ARE YOU SHARING THE SAME BED?!

Tiffany abruptly sat up and groaned. She is getting a headache from the rollercoaster of emotions she’s been having just for a single night. She then stood up and decided to drink some milk to calm herself and delete the stupid thoughts floating inside her head.

Tiffany woke up early and got out of her room groggily. When she reached the kitchen she was surprised to see Yuri cooking breakfast.

“Hi! Good morning!” Yuri greeted brightly her groggy roommate. A Tiffany with disheveled hair and in pink pajamas would never fail to amuse Yuri.

“What are you doing here?” Was Tiffany’s reply. She never expected to see Yuri this early after spending the night with Jiyeon. Right. Spending the night with her. Did you share a bed?

“Uhhh…I also live here? And I want to cook breakfast?”

“You shouldn’t have left Jiyeon alone.” Tiffany stated flatly. Trying hard to hide the sarcasm.

“Oh. She’s still fast asleep. And besides, she sleeps like a log. She wouldn’t know I’m no longer on her side.” Yuri chuckled as she continued on cooking the bacon.

So you did share a bed? Tiffany was definitely unhappy of what she found out.

“I made American breakfast. Come on. You must be hung---”

“Just bring it back to Jiyeon. Breakfast in bed would be very nice when she wakes up.” Tiffany coldly stated and walked back towards her room.

Yuri could only open and close . She was left staring at the girl’s retreating figure. Dumbfounded. What did I do?

Yuri accompanied Jiyeon for a few more days. She would spend the night at Jiyeon’s hotel and the next day during her vacant time, she would bring Jiyeon around school. For these particular days, Yuri noticed that Tiffany has been grumpy. Every time she tries to talk to the girl, Tiffany would answer her with sarcasm or would only give her a word or two for an answer. During these times also Yuri noticed that Tiffany has not been going out with Siwon. So she assumed the two could probably had an argument leading to a grumpy Tiffany.

Tiffany knew she has been grumpy lately. And she knew exactly why. Kwon Yuri. She has been trying hard to be nonchalant about the matter but every time she sees Yuri she couldn’t help but be annoyed. The thought that Jiyeon and Yuri are sharing the same bed, and the thought that Yuri is a hugger was too much for Tiffany’s liking. She was quite sure her other friends have noticed her mood swings but she had no plans of explaining. Seeing Jiyeon clinging unto Yuri like a koala and seeing Yuri smiling like were to get ripped off, Tiffany is definitely unhappy. She’s annoyed. Period.

After days of waiting for Tiffany’s rescue, she finally spotted Jessica to be online.

Stephanie: OHMYGAHHD JESSICA JUNG SOOYEON YOU ARE FINALLY ONLINE! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!

JSY: Sorry Tiff. Been quite really busy lately. Got a lot of things to attend to. Anyways, what’s up? How is it going with Plan A?

Stephanie: I’m aborting Plan A.

JSY: What? Why? It’s not working on her?

Stephanie: At first it was working well but a friend of hers suddenly came into the picture. >.<

JSY: Ohhh. Does that friend happened to be young and pretty?

Stephanie: I called Siwon oppa for help this time by the way. It was a good thing he was around Korea for a couple of weeks for some family business.

JSY: I take your answer as a yes and yes. Wow. I sense some bigtime jealousy here. *smirks

Stephanie: Stop it Jess I’m not in the mood.

JSY: Ohhh. So that’s why Taeng called me about you. She was worried you’ve been really grumpy the past few days. Now I know why.

Stephanie: Taeng called you? Now I feel guilty for my mood swings. I think the girls have noticed also but I just can’t help it! I pretty know she’s a hugger when she sleeps and the thought that they’re sharing the same bed this past few days is annoyingly frustrating!

JSY: YAH! HOW DID YOU KNOW SHE’S A HUGGER WHEN SHE SLEEPS?! HAVE YOU SLEPT WITH HER ALREADY?!

Stephanie: The “sleeping with her” concept sound so wrong when it comes from you Jess. It’s not that way!

JSY: Whatever that way is. SO YOU DO HAVE SLEPT WITH HER ALREADY?! LIKE SHARING THE SAME BED AND CUDDLE?!

Stephanie: WE DIDN’T CUDDLE! JUST HUGGED. AND I WAS ASLEEP WHEN I DID THAT! SHE WAS ASLEEP ALSO WHEN SHE HUGGED ME! DISINFECT YOUR DIRTY MIND JUNG SOOYEON!

JSY: OHMYGAHHHD. YOU CUDDLED WHILE SLEEPING?! OHMYGAHHHD!

Stephanie: Don’t exaggerate Jess. It was just a hug. Duh.

JSY: I wouldn’t care less if you had no feelings for her. BUT YOU DO HAVE FEELINGS FOR HER!

Stephanie: SO?!

JSY: Now that I think about it, I’m pretty sure you liked it. :)))

STEPHANIE: STOP IT!!!!!!!!!

Tiffany couldn’t stop herself from blushing. The thought of the nights they shared together and the mornings where she woke up hugging and being hugged by Yuri would always give her the fluttery feeling.

JSY: No wonder you are so against her sleeping with someone else. Not to mention young and beautiful. Hahaha I am so liking this love story of yours Tiff. :))

STEPHANIE: Whatever. Now what do I do? Plan A isn’t working.

JSY: Hmmm….This is harder than I thought Tiff. But while you were commencing Plan A, before the pretty young girl came, did she show positive signs?

STEPHANIE: Uhhh…. Yes? She seemed quite jealous whenever I’m out with oppa.

JSY: Ohhh. Her response is interesting then. It only needs a little push. An upgrade of Plan A.

STEPHANIE: But how would I do that?

JSY: Ooops. Tiff I’m really sorry but I have to go. Mommy needs me to drive her somewhere. I’ll get back to you some time. Take care okay? Love yah!

STEPHANIE: Oh okay. Till next time Jess. Take care.

Tiffany heaved out a sigh as she closed her laptop. There is no denying now that she really likes Yuri. But what to do with her feelings? She doesn’t have any idea.

After staying a few days with Jiyeon at the hotel, Yuri is finally back at their apartment. Since she has left Tiffany alone for days, Yuri felt the need of making it up to her roommate. She has been extra nice to Tiffany despite the girl’s grumpiness. Yuri would wake up earlier every morning to cook breakfast for both of them. During evening, she would always remind her roommate not to eat outside because she will be making dinner. At first Tiffany would reject Yuri’s offers but eventually Tiffany would join her for meals. And this response was definitely making Yuri relax. Aside from eating meals together, Yuri was glad that Tiffany’s grumpiness was slowly subsiding. She can now talk normally with her roommate without being answered sarcastically or with only a word or two. Seeing the bright Tiffany again was making Yuri happy but a part of her was sad. If Tiffany is happy then it could mean Tiffany and Siwon must have reconciled already.

It was a good thing Yuri wore her hoodie when she got out to buy food for dinner. Unexpectedly, it started drizzling outside and the air was chilly. She has texted Tiffany in advance to open the door for her for she was carrying a lot of stuff. After ringing the apartment door, Yuri waited patiently for it to be opened. Her arms were starting to get sore due to the things she was carrying. She was about to shout and call for Tiffany when suddenly someone hugged her from behind.

“Surpriseeeee! I miss you so much Ti----”

Just then the door burst open and came out Tiffany with an all too shocked expression written all over her face.

“Jessi?!” Tiffany couldn’t believe her eyes.

“Tiff?! What are you doing there?! Who’s----”

Tiffany’s skull-boring-internal-organs--piercing-stare was enough for Jessica to answer her own question. Uh-oh. We finally meet. Kwon Yuri.
