T.O.P 5 (Sometimes stylized as Take Over Planet Five) is a South Korean girl group under Woollim Entertainment. The group debuted in 2014 with the song 'Electric Shock' from the mini album with the same name. The current lineup includes Miru, Lun-R, Jiyun, Fleur, and Harmony.
History
2014: Pre-Debut, Debut, 'Electric Shock', Win, 'Pandora'
T.O.P 5 was annouced from Woollim Entertainment as the first girl group under the company during June. A sub-unit Halo was shown first, along with a reality show that would introduce the group. Members were revealed shortly after that, with the final member to be revealed on July 26th. With that the first episode on T.O.P 5's reality show 'First Invasion: T.O.P 5' lanuched on August 1st and ended on August 17th.
Teasers of T.O.P 5's debut was released on August 17th and the final music video for 'Electric Shock' was released onSeptmeber 3rd. T.O.P 5 officialy debuted on September 4th at 'M! Countdown'. They also had a showcase on Septmeber 7th that featured their subunit Halo (Jiyun and Harmony) as they performed 'Don't Say Goodbye'. The other members also performed as well.
They had their first win with 'Electric Shock' at 'M! Countdown' on September 18th, which was their goodbye stage for that song.
On September 22nd, a few days after T.O.P 5 ended their promotions, leaked information about a comback was released. On September 26th Woollim Entertainment confirmed of T.O.P 5's comeback with the song 'Pandora' (a song from their debut album). Teasers were released on September 28th-October 12th. They made their comeback on October 16th.
They had their second and third wins with the songs 'Pandora'. Both at 'Music Bank' on October 18th and on October 30th. October 30th was their goodbye stage for 'Pandora'.
2015: Newcomer Award, Joohee's leave, Miru, SXSW, 'Rum Pum Pum Pum', triple crown, Halo's comeback, fanclub name
T.O.P 5 performed at the '29th Golden Desk Awards' and won the newcomer of the year award. But leader Joohee was not present at the stage. Then on January 7th Woollim Entertainment annouce that Joohee left the group for personal reasons and T.O.P 5 would make a comeback with a new member.
On January 14th Woollim Entertainment introduced the new member Miru to the group. Though older then the others, Woollim Entertainment confirmed that Miru is not the leader but Lun-R who took the leadership role soon after Joohee left.
The girls performed in the '2015 SXSW South By Southwest' in Texas and peformed 'Electric Shcok' and 'Pandora' and got good reviews from the spectators. This was also Miru's first stage as a member of T.O.P 5.
T.O.P 5 announced of their comeback on April 2nd with a video teaser. They made their comeback on April 9th with their first EP album 'Pink Tape' and using the song 'Rum Pum Pum Pum' as the title song. They became triple crown winners after winning twice on 'M! Countdown', once on 'Inkigayo', one time on 'Music Core', and one time on 'Show Champion'. They ended their promotions on May 9th at 'Music Core'.
T.O.P 5's subunit Halo which consists of Jiyun and Harmony announced their comeback on July 1st. They released their first mini album 'What Love?' and the title track 'Just The Two Of Us'. They made their comeback on July 9th on 'M! Countdown'. They also held a showcase on the 13th.
on August 10th, T.O.P 5 announced their fanclub name to be Donminators and dark purple to be the color.
2016: 'Get Up', 'Ah Yeah', Lun-R hiatus + Fleur break, 'Touch My Body',
On January 4th it was announced that T.O.P 5 would pre-release a song before their official comeback. And on January 5th a teaser was released for 'Get Up' and was released on the 9th. T.O.P 5 started to reveal teasers on January 14th till the 2nd mini album release 'Ah Yeah' on Janaury 19th. They had their showcase on January 20th and their comeback stage on Janaury 21st at 'Music Core'.
On March 1st Woollim Entertainment announced that leader Lun-R will be taking hiatus from the group due to personal affairs, there was no time when she would be back. T.O.P 5 will still be promoting as four members. But after annoucning their comeback in June, Woollim Entertainment announced that Lun-R will be rejoining the group, but Fleur will not be in this upcoming comeback.
T.O.P 5 started hinting about their comeback on May 17th before revealing teasers on May 28th for 'Touch My Body'. Fleur would not participate in this comeback in order to take a break. They released their 3rd mini album of the same name on June 5th, following their comeback stage on the same day at 'Inkigayo', and than their showcase the next day.
