“What? No way, Tina! You must just be associating her with that girl from your dream because of how you feel about Aom.” Mean tried to explain.

 

“Yeah, I thought the same as well but then, Aom also remembers that event. The thing is, that's the last thing we both can remember. Nothing after that. For me, all I can remember was I woke up at your parent's place in the base.” Tina replied, causing Mean to remember that Aom has powers as well.

 

 

Meanwhile...

 

Aom looked at the beach from the balcony of her room. The sun was setting, slowly hiding its light behind the calm waters of the beach. This reminded her of her special hill back in Utopia. There, she saw Mean and Tina talking. She could hear their thoughts and she knew that they're talking about her and Tina's past. She thought about what Jessica told her about her placing a barrier in their minds, blocking memories. Aom closed her eyes and tried to search for Jessica.

 

“I'm here.” Jessica replied.

 

“Jessica, I thought about what you said, about our shared past and the blocks that I placed. I want to remove mine.”

 

“Very well. We should ask Tina as well if she wants that block removed.”

 

“Why? What for?”
 

“This concerns her as well, Aom. She has the right to know. But it's up to her if she's ready for it.”

 

“I'll ask her.”

 

“Good.”

 

Aom went down and found Mean and Tina still talking. “Uhm, excuse me.” Aom approached the two.

 

“Tina, I just remembered, I wanted to get some drinks! I'll get you some too, and you too Aom. Bye” Mean knew that the two needed some time to talk alone. “Jeez, Mean. Sup, Aom?” Tina said but Aom didn't reply. “Uhm, Aom?” Tina leaned closer but Aom pushed her away and turned her back.

 

“I can't say this to you while looking at you so, please forgive me and I'll do it like this.”

 

“Woah.. Aom? Are you in my head??” Tina said out loud.

 

“Damn it Tina! Let's keep the conversation in our heads, ok?”

 

“Yeah sure. So, what's up?”

 

“We both know that we share a past together and we both know the whole truth about it.”

 

“What about it? How can we know the truth?”

 

“Well, Jessica said she can help us. Right, Jessica?

 

“Right, you are kid!” Jessica suddenly responded.

 

“Woah, Jessica! You're here too? This is weird, a three-way mind conversation.”

 

“The two of you, if you want to know about your shared past, come to me.” Jessica said.

 

Tina and Aom looked at each other. Tina looked to Aom for approval, she wanted to know about the dreams she has been having for last decade. Aom nods and Tina held her hand, for some reason she didn't protest. They made their way towards Jessica and Shane's room.They walked towards Jessica's door, as Tina was about to knock, Shane opened it. “Come in.” She opened the door wide open. “Jeez, babe. You were right.” Shane said as she showed them to Jessica. “I told you. Come here.” Jessica leaned closer to Shane, she had to lean up to reach Shane's lips, it was a short kiss. Aom and Tina looked at each other, then turned away. They could feel themselves start to burn red. “I'll just need a couple of minutes alone with them. I'll be fine, you can wait outside the door if you're too worried, but I'll be fine babe.” Jessica said as she brushed Shane's feather blonde hair. “Okay, just be careful.” Shane left and closed the door. “Now, you two, sit here.” Tina and Aom sat on the edge of the bed then Jessica took a chair and sat in front of them. “I need you to release your minds, just relax, especially you,” Jessica turned to Aom. “What ever happens, do not panic. The things you will see are just memories. Are you ready?” Jessica placed her hands on top of Aom and Tina's head. The two nodded in approval and now begins their journey:

 

The journey began in the Lovapalooza, where they realize who they were and then, back to the Jaeger Base, then the journey through the concrete jungles of the ruined city then fast forwards back and back... ten years into the past:

 

Underneath the cover of the tall pine trees stood a cabin made of wood and quarried stones, fresh green grass carpeted the scene while small flowers pop from the meadow. The sun was high in the sky but the air was cool, the wind was blowing through the leaves and grass, creating a humming music from nature. But this was no ordinary cabin in the mountains; it was a fortress that housed the most powerful person in Utopia: the Fuhrer. A mile from the cabin proper stood walls of concrete with sentries, guards patrol every inch of the property.

 

Under the shade of a cloth tent sat two old friends, chatting while watching their two daughters play in the meadows.

“Aww, don't they look cute together? Lizzy, come here, look at Aom and Tina.”

“Oh, cuties. Ellie, why do you like to cut Tina's hair so short? She looks like a boy now. People might think she's a homo.”

“She hates it when I let her hair grow, she's always irritable and uncomfortable so I just cut it short. I don't care if my baby will turn out to be a Homo, I will love her the same. I think that's wrong with the world now. It's easier to hate people rather than to love them. Liz, you're in a position of power now, I think it's about time we end this war.”

Lizzy looked at her long-time friend and at the little kids playing on the grass. She gave a thought to what Ellie said. --- I guess she is right. --- Lizzy smiled at Ellie. “You're right Ellie. It's time. Let's speak about this right after I return form the cabinet meeting. For the mean time, take care of these cuties. Waen will be arriving shortly, I'll see you guys soon.” Lizzy kissed her daughter, Aom and patted Tina's head. She waived at her friend then she got in to the black armored limousine.

 

Thirty minutes had passed, Waen, Aom's father arrived and called the two little girls for an afternoon snack. Tina gulps at her juice while Aom sneaked in to the cabin, into her parents' bedroom and found the old video recording she watched last night. “Right! That's how it's done.” The little girl carefully studied the video and went out to her bestfriend, Tina who was back into playing with her toys in the meadows. Aom went to part where wild flowers grew. She picked out the blue and yellow petaled flowers, she tied the stems of the three flowers to make a ring, then she made another. Aom was so proud and happy with her flower rings so she called her bestfriend to share it with her, as well as the things she saw in the video. “Tinaaaaa!” Aom yelled and Tina came right away. “Tina, look at what I made.” Aom showed Tina the flower rings she made and flashed her smile at her friend. “Wow! They're cool! I want one Aomiiiii!” Tina was so amazed at her friend's creation that she tries to grab one but Aom retreats her hands. “No! Wait! I will give one to you but it must be done this way. You're my bestest friend, Tina. I want us to be like mommy and daddy. Together forever.” Aom explained to Tina. “Like aunt and uncle? But won't that be like a homo? Your mommy said you will marry a boy and that's whom you'll live with forever.” Tina said. “No! I don't want to live with any yucky boy! I want to be with my bestest friend forever!” Aom exclaimed. “I saw mom and dad doing this in their wedding video. Mom said that it means they will be together forever.” Aom slid the flower ring on Tina's finger. “It's your turn now.” Aom said to Tina, she placed the flower ring on Tina's palm and held out her little fingers so Tina could slip in the ring. “Alright! It's done. We'll be friends forever!” Aom hugged Tina tightly and Tina hugged back. Then, Aom remembered something.”Oh, I saw one more thing in the video.” Aom said as she released her arms from Tina. “What is it?” Tina asked. Aom was reluctant and nervous, she did not know if it was right to do it, but she mustered her courage, closed her eyes and started to reach Tina's lips. Tina closed her eyes as well and reached for Aom's lips as well. It was quick, pure and innocent.

 

“What's the meaning of this?” The shout broke the peace. They recognized this man, he was one of Aom's mom's generals. “My, my.. I can't believe Fuhrer Mindara's only daughter turns out to be a Homo. Well, I guess I'm not the only one committing treason here.” The man signaled his two soldiers to seize Tina and Aom. Both of the children were struggling to get away. “Sir, these kids are so damn feisty. May we silence them?” One of the soldiers asked. “Don't you dare touch those children! Damn you, let them go! They're innocent!” They heard Aom's father, brought by two guards. He was wounded, a gash was bleeding from where a rifle hit him. Beside him was Ellie, Tina's mom, whom was now lifeless.. “Mom!” Tina screamed and bit the soldier carrying her. The man winced in pain and released her, she ran quickly towards her mother but a rifle hit her at the back of her neck. Aom was crying as Tina fell down to the floor. “Bastard!” Waen managed to escape from his captors and tried to reach for his daughter but.. BANG! There was a loud “THUD” when he fell.

 

Everything became quiet, as if the world was suddenly drowned in a sea of silence. No birds were chirping, even the wind was gone. BOOOOOOM! A shock wave knocked down all of the soldiers around Aom, following the shock wave was a beam of light, as bright as the sun. What followed it was the most terrifying of all, the air became so hot that it burns the lungs when you breathe it in. The general could see his men burning from within, soon, he was burning as well. It is as if hell fire was brought from underneath the ground to claim them. A few minutes have passed, everything within a one mile radius was burned, blackened trees and grass, the air was filled with the smell of burnt bodies and ash. “Aom..” Aom turned back and found Tina walking towards her, her skin still burning but regenerating, her clothes and hair were all gone. Aom cried and Tin hugged her and then, both lost consciousness.

 

Aom woke first, she could hear Tina's painful thoughts and so, pitying her friend, she placed a barrier in her mind to prevent her from feeling this pain again. “You won't hurt anymore, Tina.” She kissed her head and fell asleep, unknown to her, she placed a barrier in her mind as well.

 

She woke up in a hospital bed, next to her was her mother sleeping. “Mom.” She said. “Honey, you're awake. I'm so glad you're ok!” Her mother held her tight. Aom did not have any memory of what happened in the cottage. Her mother told her what her officers reported to her, that a Category 5 Homo attacked the cottage in an attempt to assassinate her. Killing her husband, her friend Ellie and her daughter Tina. Ever since that faithful event, Fuhrer Elizabeth Mindara and her daughter Aom swore to avenge the death of their loved ones and the full eradication of the Homos.

 

Aom stood and walked straight out the room. Tina was about to follow her but Jessica stopped her. “Just let her be for now. She needs time to let it all sink it. Besides, your journey is not yet finished.” Jessica said. “What do you mean?” Tina asked. “Sit down and I'll show you.” Jessica raised her hands and placed them next to Tina's temples and began to go deeper..

 

A few minutes after Aom lost her consciousness, a chopper descended. Out came a tall black haired tom that looked like Tina. She looked around the burnt meadow and covered and nose with a handkerchief. “Commander Kristina, we found two survivors, two little girls.” Said one of her soldiers. She ran towards the survivors and found Tina and Aom together. “Tina..” She looked around and found nothing but ash and flames still burning. Tears ran down her eyes. “Take the girls to the chopper, we're leaving.” The soldier was about to take Aom but then.. “Commander, the Utopian convoy is just a couple of miles away. We need to leave now.” Commander Kristina removed her coat and covered Aom in it and then she took Tina in her arms back to the chopper. “Leave the Fuhrer's daughter, she already lost her husband, we're not taking her only daughter away from her.” The chopper left.

 

They reached St. Johannesburg, the capital of Eden. They were welcomed by Commander Kristina's trusted friend and the head of the Military Research Division of Eden, Lt. General Ben Appitha.

 

“Woah, I never thought that you'll be coming home with a kid. Who kid is she?” Ben curiously asked when he saw Kristina carrying Tina.

 

“She's Ellie's and..” She replied. Ben's eyes widened.

 

“I never thought that you and Ellie.. well, did it. Where is she, by the way?”

 

“She's gone. Listen Ben, I know a Category 5 Homo did this and I will find him or her and bring her to the Utopians before they pin this thing on all of us. I cannot take of her while doing that.”

 

“So, does that mean that..”

 

“Yes, please Ben. She needs a family and I cannot give her that. Besides, I know your daughter Mean would like to have a sister to play with in the base. She's the only kid there.”

 

“No problem, Kris. I know Jimmy and Mean would love to have her in our family.” Ben hugged Kristina.

 

“One more thing, Ben. Don't mention anything about what happened today to anyone, even Tina. She does not need to know that her mom was murdered and the other abandoned her.” Kristina handed Tina to Ben and bid goodbye.
