I. HAK YEON
I asked her to meet with me at the nearest park at 10 am. I told myself that today is the day while trying to calm my nerves and senses. I was all set and ready - Wearing my plaid shirt with my jet-black bangs covering my forehead. It was a warm, sunny day. The weather was fair. What more could go wrong? I asked myself.
After a while, I saw her coming. I clasped my hands together, eager to say the words that kept on getting loose out of my mouth. The words that spelled “I like you.” For a while, the whole world turned silent. It was a stand-still. Clicking her tongue, she answered back. Letting out a frown, she gave her apology and bowed, she left right after.
I was speechless. Heartbroken. That day, she didn’t know that a thousand other people closest in proximity were heartbroken, too.
