Hit Me...
Text Me...
"Kim Gyumin!" Lee Suhwa shouted as she pounded the door with her fist. "Ya Kim Gyumin! Hurry up! We're gonna be late!"
"Calm down, my gosh." Kim Gyumin opened the door and whipped her hair up into a ponytail. "We're like 15 minutes early everyday anyways. Being 5 minutres late today isn't going to kill you."
"No, it's not gonna kill you," Suhwa followed her friend out the door and down the stairs. "It WILL kill me if I don't get there early!"
"Alright Ms. President," Gyumin jumped the last two steps and ran down the sidewalk while Suhwa followed close behind. The two friends made it onto the subway as the doors closed and collapsed onto the seats.
"So have you heard from your parents recently?" Gyumin said as she unwrapped her bread and bit into it.
"Nah," Suhwa stared at the ads plastered on the inside of the train, "Haven't heard from them since last month when they sent over the money."
Gyumin nodded and wiped with her sleeve, earning a disapproving glare from her friend.
Gyumin and Suhwa have always been polar opposites of each other. Suhwa's smart, top of the class without even breaking a sweat while Gyumin has to study her off for every test. Suhwa has all the freedom in the world; Gyumin's stuck with overprotective parents. Suhwa's effortlessly pretty, but Gyumin had double eyelid surgery done last summer and has to go to the gym every weekend.
People who don't know them very well always think that they get into a lot of disagreements.
But it's more like they make life easier for each other.
Suhwa helps Gyumin to study, and Gyumin makes Suhwa's life more entertaining.
"I think you should call them for once," Gyumin slid her card through the machine and went through the gate. Suhwa followed her, not saying a word. "I mean, I'm sure they would love to hear your voice after like a month of getting the cold shoulder from you."
Suhwa shrugged beside her. "I guess. Maybe."
She walked with her head down, looking at the ground in kind of a fixed, hypnotized gaze. She had no idea who was even in front of her until she ran head first into him.
"Ow...." Suhwa rubbed her head, trying to clear away the stars while Gyumin helped her up. All the stuff in her backpack was scattered all over the pavement except for her textbooks. The person she ran into also had his things flung all over the sidewalk.
"Omo," Suhwa quickly stood up and helped the person gather his things. Gyumin already had Suhwa's belongings stuffed in her bag. "I am so sorry ajusshi! I should've paid attention to where I was going."
"No," the man said, averting his gaze and turning his head to the side. "it's my fault. Don't worry about it."
Suhwa handed him his things, bowed quickly, then took her bag from Gyumin.
"Who the heck was he?" she plopped into her seat as Suhwa started cleaning the classroom. "I mean really, who the hell wears a freakin scarf when it's still hot outside!?"
"Forget it Gyumin," Suhwa dumped the trash from her dust pan into the trash can then wiped her forehead. "It was my fault anyways. I was in a daze. Should've been more careful."
"Hmmmmm. I still don't like that guy. Wearing sunglasses and a hat like he was hiding from someone. Weirdo."
Suhwa came over and sat on Gyumin's desk, "Oh well. What's done is done right?"
