The next morning, I woke up to realize that I was still dressed in the same clothes from yesterday. I sighed as I rubbed my eyes, "I must've cried myself to sleep," I squint from the brightness that the sun was giving to my place. "The rain stopped last night? That quick?" Really, it was pouring like nothing when I got to my suite. Today was much brighter than yesterday. There were no clouds to block the sun from it's happiness that it was giving out to the world. I stood in front of my windows as I stretched. I exhale, a nice refreshing exhale to be exact, and I smiled. "It's a nice day for a run."
And it was. I was so excited to feel the wind hit against my body as I jogged down at a near by lake. Unfortunately, the jog had to end up short. I began to feel the pain in my stomach act up. I held onto my stomach as I jog at a slower pace, trying to hold in the throbbing that was occurring. Soon enough, I fell onto one knee and rested for a bit.I cursed silently not bringing a water bottle.
"Jaehee noona?" someone called out to me.
My tired self looked up to the handsome boy who was a few feet away from me, "Oh, Kim Ukwon,"
"What are you doing here?" he asked me as he approached me. He knelt down as he examined me, "Are you okay?"
I smiled as I saw his face turn into a guilty look. "Yah, I'm fine. Stop feeling guilty alright?" He nodded as he look down to the ground. "By the way, what are you doing here. Aren't you suppose to be in school right now?"
"Yah! Ukwon ah!" Ukwon and I looked behind him to see an elderly woman calling out to him from afar. "What are you doing?! Hurry up! Lunch time is just right around the corner!"
"I took a day off from school. I'm helping my mom with her food stand,"
I smiled, did he say food?! I got up immediately, "Can I help out too?"
Ukwon stood up also as he said, "Ahni, actually-"
"Let's go!" I said as I marched away from him, towards his mother. I didn't realize how hungry I was. I didn't eat yesterday at all. After my parents, I had lost track with Yongguk and dealing with my damn feelings made me forget about food. When Ukwon and I reached his mother's food stand, she was stunned to find her son with a girl. I shook my hand and head as I said, "Omoni, I'm only a friend of his," Knowing she had gotten the wrong idea. "I'm his noona. He's friends with my dongsaeng,"
Ukwon made a sour face, "I'm not friends with-" I immediately covered his mouth as I smiled to his mother.
"I'm Choi Jaehee, nice to meet you," I said as I bowed to her.
"Ye, nice to meet you also," his mother smiled warmly.
"Omoni, if you don't mind, can I help out also? I don't have anything to do today until lunch is over,"
"Omo, are you sure? It gets really busy and crowded and not to mention how cold it is,"
"It's okay, I've dealt with crowded place and business before," I said as I began to help out. "Do I just put these in there?" I ask as I got the plastic bowl of fish cakes that were on individual sticks. Ukwon's mother answered with a yes as she assisted me on how to turn on the warm squared pot for the fish cakes. I took a glance at Ukwon as he shook his head with a smile forming on his face. I gave him a thumbs up as I continued listening to his mother.
Every now and then, Ukwon's mother would offer me a piece of food that was ready, and I would gladly accept it from her as I let her feed me. A lot of people came by and I was surprise that some of the people that worked under my father and I were there. I greeted them with a smile and continued doing my own thing.
"Oh, Mark ssi, Hoseok ssi," I heard Ukwon say and then I immediately hid myself as I squat down.
"Oh, Ukwon ah," said Hoseok as I listened, "Aren't you suppose to be in school right now?"
"I'm helping out my mother just for today,"
"Isn't that what you said last time?" Mark said.
The trio were continuing their conversation as Uk
