"Oh my! Oh my! Oh my! It's almost time!" said Mom as she went through my clothes. For the whole 3 hours she had been going through my closet, looking for something to impress the family that Dad had invited over for dinner. I wasn't too happy about this since it was only Mark and Jin. Meeting them isn't the happiest thing to feel. All I wanted was to ditch this dinner and come back later after everything is done. Unfortunately, when Mom heard that they had two "handsome boys", she insisted on dressing me up.
"Omma," I said as I sat on my bed crossed legged. "Omma," she didn't answer, "Omma!"
"A-aish!" she said as she jumped, "What?!"
"Enough already will you? My room is a mess," Yes, my room was a total mess. Clothes that didn't satisfy Mom were thrown to the floor and everywhere. "I'll be fine wearing something plain and simple,"
"But-"
"Omma, trust me. I can make anyone fall for this beautiful daughter right here," I smiled. She came up to me and brushed my hair, "Alright. I'll stop," she said as she heaves a sigh. "I'm sorry for overreacting. I'll get the maid to clean this up. Get ready and come down all right? They'll be here any minute,"
"Ye," I answered. The maid came in no time with small information of ‘They're here.’ "Is Junhong home yet?" I ask, not giving a damn if "they're here."
"Your mother wants you down stairs-"
"I ask if Junhong is home," I demand.
"No ma'am," she answers with her head down.
I bit my bottom lip as I brush my hair back, "I told that idiot to come home before 6,"
"Ma'am," said another maid as she came in, "Your parents are waiting,"
"Alright, alright, I'm coming," I said as I stomped away. Ever since Junhong started hanging out with Yongguk's crew, he became more disobedient. He doesn't listen much anymore and anyone annoys him easily… Even me. I guess I should really take him back to America. He was so much better off there. He made great friends. Better than the ones he's with now. They were such a good influence on him, but the ones now... are so horrible. I don't even know a thing about those boys besides Yongguk.
"There she is!" squealed my mom as she stood along side with two other women. "My daughter, Choi Jaehye,"
"E-Excuse me? Did you say- Jaehye?" said one of them. I went beside them, and as I was about to bow I saw that the two ladies were Mark and Jin's mothers. Obviously, I should’ve known. "C-Choi J-Jaehye?" said Mark's mom in a shock.
"Ye," my mother answered, "Is something wrong?"
She laughed, "Ahh, no. Your daughter is very beautiful,"
"Omma," said Mark as he and Jin came up to us also.
"Omo, there you two are," said Jin's mother, "Let us introduce you guys to one another, although you guys know each other already..." she said as her voice trailed off.
"Excuse me?" said Mom.
"Oh, this is my son, Kim Seokjin," Jin's mother said as she immediately changed the subject. "This is Mrs. Choi's daughter, Choi Jaehye,"
"Omma, I know," Jin answered.
"O-Oh, do you now?"
"I just met her today along with Appa,"
"Ahh, I see,"
"And this is Mark Kim," said Mark's mother.
"Mark Tuan," Mark corrected, "I have my mother's last name,"
"Don't listen to him, he has his father's. Everyone at the company knows that he's Mark Kim," she said as she took the mothers away, leaving us three alone. I'm guessing this was her last minute idea of trying to get us all together.
Mark and Jin had their hands in their pockets as they both sighed at the same time. I chuckled, getting their attention. "The two of you haven't change at all," I said, remembering when they both talked in unison seven years ago after GOT7 and BTS had bumped into Aces without knowing it was them. I remember it all. How worried these two were about everyone, how angry they were, how they talked, how they looked that day... They looked exactly how they look today.
"So are you ever going to tell us which one of us you're staring at," said Jin as he broke into my thoughts.
I scoffed, "Can we not ever have a decent conversation?"
"Fine," said Jin as he took his hands out and crossed his arms, "Why don't you start by telling us where'd you go, no wait, start by telling us why you left. What was your reason to even leave? We understand you lost Jungkook, but you weren't the only one suffering. BTS was sincerely in pain even more after you left!"
"Can you keep it down!?" I half whisper half yelled. "My parents and both of your parents of in the other room!"
"Why are you so scared of them finding out? Did you ever tell them who you were? Do they even know where you come from or-"
Mark's sentence was stop by a knock on the wall. We looked over and saw that it was my dad. Both Mark and Jin did a 90-degree bow to him as he approached us. "I see that the three of you have really gotten along, or seems like you guys are," We didn't respond. "Let me tell the two of you now," he began as Mark and Jin looked to him, "As much as you guys know about Jaehye, her mom and I do also. It was our choice to take her in as a family member. I know that if I never took her in, Jaehye would still be living in the streets right now,"
"Are you trying to say that her friends are a bunch of low live who lives in the streets?!" said Jin. "Her true friends that she's been with ever since her parents were killed?!"
Without knowing, I slapped Jin across the face. He and Mark looked at me with surprise. "Don't ever raise your voice at my father," I said. "Most importantly, don't ever bring up about my parents. You should watch what you say, especially when you have no idea about what the situation is,"
Jin stomped away with Mark following after him, "Yah! Kim Seokjin!" Mark called.
I breathed out heavily as I tried to get myself together. I didn't meant to hit him... I just... "Are you okay," Father asks.
"Ye, I am," I a
