Monday Morning

“So… I heard you got rejected?” Park Yong asked as I sat down, with the usual polite smile plastered across his face.

“Wh..” I almost choked on my saliva. “HE TOLD YOU?” OF ALL PEOPLE?

“Not really… He was quite confused when he came back to Tom’s. After So Eun asked about your whereabouts, he explained the situation – that you asked if he wants to go out, yet went off on your own without telling him where.” He said, his smile even wider now.

I squinted my eyes at him.

“Yes, so? Is it illegal to be rejected? What are you going to do about it?” I raised my head.

“I’ll help you stop. Liking him.”

“Ha, and why would you do that?”

“Because I like you.”

“Hahahahaha,” I laughed as if I heard the funniest joke ever. It wasn’t exactly funny, but outright ridiculous.

That was when he lost his smile for the first time, “I’m not joking.”

I saw the sincerity in his eyes, and I lost mine too.
