“Daddy, when I grow up I wanna be just like you!” 4 year old Taemin informed his Daddy one day.

Taemin was resting in his Daddy’s pouch while Kibum worked on filling out paperwork. It was long and tedious (well, for his Daddy that is) but Taemin didn’t mind, he got to spend it with his Daddy.

“Like me?” Kibum smiled at his son.

“Mhmm.” Taemin nodded his head furiously.

“And what is ‘like me’ exactly?” He asked Taemin.

“Well, I’m gonna be the bestest king just like you and I’m gonna be the bestest daddy in the whole wide ocean just like you!” Taemin announced.

“Just like me, hm?” Kibum smiled and patted his son’s hair affectionately.

“Yup!”

Taemin did just that.

Thirty years had passed since his and Minho’s wedding. Thirty beautiful years. Taemin could hardly believe it sometimes. He felt so elated at times, like he was a balloon and could just float away at any time from the happiness he felt.

Of course, he wasn’t king yet. No, he had a long time before that would happen. His parents weren’t that old quite yet. They still had a good century or two ahead of them and Taemin was more than fine with that.

As for Onew, he became the royal consultant. He sat in on meetings and advised Taemin and his parents on decisions regarding anything from laws to military tactics. Onew enjoyed his job and even met his wife, Luna, within the palace walls.

“Yah! Choi Sulli, Choi Jongin! Get your tails back here this instant!” A demanding voice echoed through the hall Taemin was making his way down, effectively breaking him out of his thoughts.

“Run!” A small voice squeaked.

Taemin knew that voice. He would recognize the voice of his daughter anywhere. Just like the would recognize his mate’s stern tone which told him his children had gotten themselves in trouble. Again.

It was only moments later that his two children collided with Taemin. Without missing a beat, Taemin scooped both of his children up into his arms.

“Now, what do we have here?” He asked the two squirming babies.

“Daddy!” The youngest, Jongin, cried frantically. “Let us go! Appa is coming!”

“Is he now?” It took everything Taemin had not to smile.

“Yes!” His daughter, Sulli, squeaked.

“Why would you two be running away from Appa?” Taemin already had a good idea of what the two were up to.

“No reason.” Jongin huffed.

Suddenly, his two babies squeaked. Taemin looked up to see his mate rounding the corner, arms crossed, eyes narrowed. He didn’t know what they had done for sure but if Minho was this mad, it was something major.

“Look what I have.” Taemin smiled at Minho.

“Look at that,” Minho approached his family. “It’s the two trouble makers.”

“Hi, Appa.” Sulli smiled, trying to charm her way out of trouble.

“Don’t even try that with me, Choi Sulli.” Minho reprimanded.

“What did they do?” Taemin asked Minho.

“These two,” Minho poked the tips of his children’s noses gently. “Decided to redecorate the conference room with their own artwork.”

“Oh my God,” Taemin sighed making a mental note to apologize profusely to the maids who were stuck cleaning up the conference room.

“Yup.” Minho popped the ‘p’.

“Go to your rooms you two.” Taemin told his children sternly. “I will talk to you later.”

“Yes, Daddy.” Both merchildren said together before Taemin set them down.

“What are we going to do with those two?” Taemin sighed.

“I don’t know,” Minho wrapped his arms around his mate.

“It’s a good thing they’re cute.” Taemin joked.

“Yeah, but we really need to watch them closer.” Minho sighed.

“You mean you need to watch them closer. They never get in trouble when I watch them.”

“Yeah, yeah.” Minho laughed. “How did your parents do it?”

“They had one child, I was well behaved, and they watched me better.”

“It’s not my fault they’re the tag team from hell!” Minho laughed before receiving a smack over his head.

“My babies are NOT from hell!” Taemin growled.

“It was a joke, love.” Minho chuckled.
“Not funny, Choi.”

“Man, these mermaid hormones are no joke.” Minho muttered before pulling his mate in for a kiss.

“Are you blaming my upset on my pregnancy?! Seriously?!” Taemin growled.

“No! Of course not!”

“That’s what I thought.”

“I love you, Taemin.” Minho kissed his mate’s cheek.

“Yeah, I love you too.” Taemin laughed kissing Minho on the lips.

“EWWW!” A voice shouted from the end of the hall.

“Choi Jongin! I clearly recall sending you to your room!” Minho called out.

“EEP!” The voice squeaked making both parents laugh.

It was hard to believe that if Taemin hadn’t been kidnapped and taken to Minho’s pool, he’d never had met the love of his life. It was funny to think that all those years ago, Minho refused to go anywhere near the ocean and here he is, mated to a mermaid, raising two children with another one on the way, and ruling what he later found out was Atlantis (much to his surprise of course).

Their life was hectic, it was crazy, but Taemin wouldn’t have it any other way.

Annnd it's over (Hallejuah!!)!!! I was so unsure of this story but it turned out so much better than I thought! I also think this is the longest amount of time we spent writing  a story thus far (It is. 5 months almost.). I can't believe that it's over!
