“And when I get married I’m gonna have a BIG wedding! With lwts of people and cake! Yeah! Wotta cake!” Taemin, now five, exclaimed.

“Good grief,” King Kibum laughed as his son explained his grand wedding.

“What are we talking about?” Jonghyun asked as he came into his bedroom to find his son with arms stretched wide, talking animatedly about something to his Daddy.

“His wedding.” Kibum laughed as the little boy nodded his head in agreement.

“It’s gonna be so pwetty Appa!” The young merman exclaimed.

“I’m sure it will.” Jonghyun laughed as he picked his son up into his arms.

“I’m gonna have wots of pwetty flowers with wots of people!”

“And cake.” Kibum added with an amused voice.

“And my mate is gonna be so pwetty! He’s gonna be smart and funny and he’s gonna make gooood milk!” Taemin put a great emphasis on milk.

“Well, Tae,” Jonghyun laughed. “By the time you get married, you won’t be drinking milk anymore.”

“Nu uh! I always drink Daddy’s milk!” Taemin shook his head, refusing to believe that he wouldn’t depend on milk for the rest of his life.

“No, baby.” Kibum tried to explain to his obviously troubled son. “You don’t need to drink Daddy’s milk forever. Soon, you’re going to need to wean.”

“Wean?” Taemin asked with big, disbelieving eyes.

“It means that you’ll stop drinking my milk and start eating solid foods more often.” Kibum Taemin’s hair.

“I don’t wanna!” The boy cried. “I wike Daddy’s milk!”

“I know baby,” Kibum laughed. “But someday you’re gonna grow up into a big boy and not need Daddy’s milk.”

“Never!”

“It’s all a part of being a big boy, Tae. Don’t you wanna be a big boy?” Jonghyun asked.

“Nu uh!” The boy shook his head. “I wanna be the baby forever!”

“Oh honey,” Jonghyun laughed at his son’s insistence. “You’ll always be our baby. You’ll just be our grown up baby.”

“No!”

“Okay, okay.” Kibum surrendered. He was usually the one to surrender first. “No one will make you grow up. You can always be our baby. But, if you don’t grow up, then you can’t get married and have babies of your own.”

“But-but.” The little boy stuttered, clearly upset by the choices he had to make.

“Your choice, baby boy.” Jonghyun caught on to what his mate was doing.

“But, DADDY!” The boy whined. “I don’t wanna make big boy decisions!”

“You don’t have to make them right now. Just keep in mind that you have to be a big boy to get married.” Kibum placed a kiss on the top of his son’s hair.

“But that’s no fair!” The boy pouted earning himself two amused laughs from his fathers.

[2 weeks later]

“Your highness’” A soldier bowed, greeting the three mermen.

“Hello, Kris.” Kibum greeted the soldier into the castle.

“May I present, King Luhan, King Sehun, and Prince Tao.” The soldier announced formally.

Kibum, Jonghyun, and Taemin stood and then bowed respectfully. It was standard practice to have the royal soldier introduce the royal families amongst other royalty and the general public. Taemin’s eyes landed on the boy standing next to his two fathers. He was slightly taller than the other two mermen, he had dark black hair and slanted deep brown eyes. The dark circles under the Prince’s eyes reminded Taemin of the panda that Onew had once showed him on the computer.

“How was the travel?” Kibum asked, keeping somewhat friendly formality, knowing that Jonghyun was not going to talk to the Chinese royals. In fact, Jonghyun had an almost amusingly sour facial expression as the royalty exchanged words.

“It was fine,” Luhan smiled kindly. He too did not particularly wish to marry off his son but Sehun was insistent and Luhan decided to allow him to go through with the wedding. He knew that it was going to happen eventually and he was happy that his son was being married to a kind royal family instead of a cold and distant one.

“I am glad.” Kibum replied, his facial expression softening at Luhan. “You shall find that your rooms have been prepared.”

“Thank you,” Sehun bowed before Kibum called for two guards.

“Your Highness’.” The first guard, Eunhyunk, bowed.

“Please the Kings and the Prince to their respective rooms, please.” Kibum smiled at one of his favorite guards.

Kibum and Jonghyun had made a personal effort to become friends with all the soldiers, guards, servants, and other help. They found that by doing so, the kingdom ran a lot smoother and the atmosphere was always happy and friendly.

“Of course, Your Highness.” The second guard, Donghae, smiled before they both bowed and led the royalty away.

“So, what do you think of Tao, Tae?” Kibum asked his son who had remained silent and unmoving during the entire exchange.

“He seems...okay.” Taemin offered. He had no real impression of the merman, he wasn’t Minho and that’s all Taemin really cared about.

“He’s no Minho.” Jonghyun spoke Taemin’s mind.

“Yes.” Taemin sighed.

“We’re sorry, Taemin. Things shouldn’t have happened this way. I’m so sorry.” Kibum sighed, kissing his cheek.

“I do not wish to marry him,” Taemin admitted. “But, if it keeps the kingdom safe then I will do what I must.”

“You’ve become so brave, my son.” Jonghyun sighed.

“Thank you, Appa.”

“Taemin!” A new voice cried across the room, making the three mermen freeze.

“Onew?!” Taemin gaped.

Sorry it took so long to update! We've gotten really busy this past week (I had midterms AND I had to pack) but we definitely wanted to update before Bre left for Europe (woot woot!). B: Key is forever my bias! I would love to get to spend a  day with him! But Jjong, Tae, and Onew are closely behind him. Idk why but Minho doesn't...idk how to explain it. I like Minho, I really do. I think he's a cool dude but I think we wouldn't be able to get along if we met. We wouldn't fight but we'd be super awkward. But yeah, Key is always going to be my bias!!

B: I'm not gonna lie, I laughed when I read this. I don't WATCH , but I read fan fic and let's be honest here, 90% of all fan fics have some sort of . I mean I EDITED ! I've read some manga too and that had some stuff but I'm not like googling the most filled fan fics and manga if you know what I mean. But I've never watched .

N: Like Bre, I read fan fic so yes, in a weird sort of way, I've read (if it counts). But I've never seen any .
