Silent Angel II

6

"Suho! Over here!" Hyesu shouted and waved to get his attention. Suho turned around and saw Hyesu smiling brightly at him and he smiled back, waving.

"Hey. So, we're here to .." Suho let his eyes travel to the large sign. Lotte World it read. He smiled.

Hyesu nodded her head firmly. "To enjoy the day here. You just returned to Korea not long, and I bet you didn't come here for a long time, so I'll just be accompanying you," she said and entered after paying the tickets. “Plus I’m trying to help you move on,” she whispered. Suho cracked a smile. "Well I guess it seems like I'm the one who's accompanying you."

Hyesu bit her lip. "Well, it's the same," she said and shrugged her shoulders, then quickly ran.

Suho chuckled in amusement and followed her, patiently queuing for the rides, while Hyesu was the exact opposite. Within a minute, she was already groaning and tapping her foot impatiently, then tip toeing to find other rides to ride.

“Hyesu, you are really impatient,” Suho said in amusement while she grinned. “Why of course.”

Suho looked around, and his eyes landed on that particular ride. He smiled widely and grabbed Hyesu’s wrist, leading her to the merry go round. “Care to hop on? This is the shortest queue.”

Hyesu grinned and immediately nodded her head as she hopped onto one horse. Within minutes after they settled themselves comfortably in their seats, or should I say horses, music was played through the speakers and the ride began.

Hyesu grinned widely as she cooed and spread her arms out as her horse rise, and Suho’s horse was slightly lower than hers.

But then, the excitement in her didn't last long. She yawned and quickly got off the horse even though the ride wasn’t finished, as she looked around and spotted a carriage, then quickly hopped on.

Suho raised an eyebrow at her and he sighed as he could only follow her.

“You really are playful, Hyesu,” he said in despair, laughing. “Well I’m just a university student, definitely I’ll be more childish and playful than you,” she scoffed and laughed, rocking her body side to side as she sat down on the seat, and the carriage spun.

Suho was just beside her, and he softened, smiling at her character. Somehow, she has just adult and also child behaviour that is just no in sync. She somehow turns to be as matured and strong as an adult, or maybe even braver, then the next second her wilfulness and childish character takes over her, making her become like a little kid which some would find it irritating to the eyes, while others would find it pleasant. And as for him, he would find it fun and likable.

He slowly leaned forward, taking a closer look at her facial features.

It was rare. Definitely rare.

He had the sudden urge to just lightly peck her cheek, but his thoughts were interrupted by the slow speed of the spinning, and the music getting softer and softer every second.

Soon, the ride came to an end.

Hyesu opened her eyes and hopped off, exiting the ride and she stretched her arms out, and spun a turn.

It’s been a long time since she last visited Lotte World, or last visited any tourist attraction in Korea, since her days were either cooped up in the cafe, school or hospital.

Finally a day to relax it all out, and to relive her memories.

She then looked around and tugged onto Suho’s sleeve as she raised an eyebrow at him, challenging him. “Dare to take it?”

Suho shrugged his shoulders. “Why not?” Now he saw another side of Hyesu. Daring and childish. Picking up challenges in such a way that Suho found it hard to reject her.

“Then let’s go!” she exclaimed, pulling his sleeve as she ran forward, grinning excitedly.

She looked at the Viking and immediately rushed to the last row, which people say that it would be the most frightening yet exciting experience ever.

Hyesu was daring indeed.

So, Suho sat beside her as they were squeezed in between tourists who too sat on the last row.

Four on the left, four on the right and Suho and Hyesu were right in the middle, being squashed side by side.

But Hyesu didn’t really care, because she just want to have fun.

As the Viking rise, the people were already screaming and Hyesu couldn’t help but raise her hands up in the air and to lift up the atmosphere by screaming in excitement, instead of being scared. And her scream would always be followed by her bursting of laughter when she tried her best to scream as loudly as she could when the Viking swing to the highest.

She could only say it was breathtaking

Suho laughed along with her, which because she kept nudging him to scream even though there were some parts which he had to grip the handle tightly, afraid of falling.

Hyesu’s eyes widened in surprise as she turned to face him. “You’re laughing! You’re finally laughing!” she exclaimed while he smiled, then slowly softened.

He stopped screaming, and his grip loosened. He never had been so close towards Hyesu, and he couldn’t help but want to turn her face. He could only see the side view of her face. She was laughing so hard that she didn’t realize that Suho was entertaining himself by just looking at her and only until she tried nudging, elbowing him then he found out he wasn’t in his mind.

Hyesu smiled and slowly turned to face him, as she found out he stopped screaming or laughing along with her.

It was then when Hyesu’s cheeks were flushing as their lips touched.

Their eyes widened in surprise and they quickly looked to the front, blinking in surprise.

*Holy.. What just happened..* Hyesu thought and looked away. Even though it was just a slight brush, but still, it’s something quite personal to both Suho and Hyesu.

His cheeks were burning red and plus their shoulders kept bumping into each other as people beside them squeezed, it was impossible not to feel hot.

As the ride came to a stop, it then dawned on Hyesu that her lips brushed against Suho’s, and she somehow felt a tinge of happiness in her, as she bit her lip, preventing her smile from getting any broader. But she can't. She can't fall for him. It's like, stealing him away from Hye Min before he even got over her.

She cannot do that.

And as for Suho, he too bit his lip, trying to stop that silly grin from getting any wider.

Their eyes met as they got off, and they quickly looked away, smiling awkwardly as they looked around. “I think, we should get something to drink first,” Suho suggested, and Hyesu nodded her head in agreement.

She swung her legs freely as she slurped on her smoothie. Sitting on the same bench as Suho and also sitting beside him, she couldn’t help but think of that five second inicident which made her heart accelerate for more than fifteen minutes.

She then glanced at Suho and quickly looked back at her smoothie. “Ah yes, when are you returning to visit EXO-K again?”

“Next month I guess. If they don’t have any schedules, then it’ll be next week. Do you want to come along?”

She nodded her head. “Sure.”

Just as she thought everything was going on smoothly, a call from the hospital destroyed everything.

She answered the call as she threw her smoothie into the dustbin, and her eyes widened in shock and she frowned. She nodded her head and stood up after ending the call, having Suho to stand up too. “Something wrong?”

She bit her lip and nodded. “I have something on, I’m afraid I can’t-“

“It’s alright. We can come another day,” he said, understanding her and she smiled and hurriedly walked away.

When her figure disappeared, Suho didn't know but he felt a slight tinge of happiness, but also guilt.

*Hye Min, today I kissed a girl that looked exactly like you. For a split second I enjoyed it, because I thought it was you. But when reality hit me, I realized it wasn’t and I immediately regretted it. I’m sorry Hye Min, I hope you won’t be angry with me. I only treat Hyesu as a little sister, I hope.*

Hyesu held onto her hand. "You need to hang in there, you'll be saved," she whispered. “My plan has begun. And today is one more day to success. I’m going to launch my next move.”

She took in a deep breath shakily and forced out a smiled. "You need to wake up to see how I deal with him. He harmed you so much, you need to see how hard he falls. Because of you, I can ignore everything. I can give up everything. You know how much pain I felt when I first saw him? All of the memories were being dug up, and how he reacted pierced my heart a million times, but slowly when I thought of you, I felt like puking. I hate his face. A jerk. I felt so sick. But I won't give up, I'll do everything I can to avenge for you," she said in determination .

It then dawned upon her, someone will be in her way of her plan, and she didn't know if he would be hurt. She softened.

She looked down and leaned forward, whispering. "Unnie, I have one more thing to confess. I'm not sure if this will be an obstacle to our plan, because this includes romance. Of course not to him, but to someone," she bit her lip and tapped her fingers nervously on her lap.

"I think I like someone. I have never thought romance would come in the way, but it was just so sudden. I met him in Japan, he mistook me as his girlfriend and that was my first encounter with him. He actually had a ring that was made of his girlfriend's ashes and the thing is, she's been dead for five years, but he still continued to be single, not ready or not planning to have a new relationship. I'm touched, because I didn't know one would be so determined not to start a new relationship even after five years, but I guess because of this, I started to have feelings, feelings that grow more than just friends," she whispered and lowered her head.

"Today I went out with him, and the thing is that he didn't talk about his girlfriend. I thought there was a slight hope for him, but I can't be certain. I know that Icannot like him before he moves on because it's wrong, but now the thing is that I can't even differentiate my feelings for him. What do you think? " she asked her, but actually she was just asking herself the question. Because only she would know the answer.

She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath. Opening her eyes, she pressed her lips into a firm line. "I think, I really like him."
