Jungkook frowned at ______, hating that she was so oblivious to his feelings. She didn’t notice the frown either.

“Sorry, Kookie, could you do me the hugest favor and play with Minseok for a bit? I really need to get Chang to school.” She looked at him pleadingly, holding her youngest sibling by the hand.

“Yeah, sure. I’ll look after him till you get back.”

“Thank you so much! You’re the best!” She quickly hugged him and was out the door. Jungkook stared after her, wishing he could tell her how that hug made him feel.

While he played some video games with Minseok, ______’s other little brother, he thought hard about how to get her to see that he wasn’t a kid and he most definitely wasn’t her brother. The two of them had been best friends for a really long time but over the past year or so Jungkook had begun liking _____ as more than that. Yet whenever he tried to express his feelings she treated him like a kid, frequently saying he was cute and like a part of her family. Just the fact that she hugged him so casually meant she didn’t think of him as a man at all and Jungkook hated it!

Even when he showed her some of Bangtan’s videos where he was dancing all y and manly she didn’t seem to think anything of it. It was infuriating!

Then an idea hit him. An idea that would allow him to let out all his feelings for her without putting too much pressure on it and maybe, just maybe have _____ finally see him as a man.

When ______ got back Jungkook left Minseok to his video games and dragged her into her bedroom with him. “Hey, _____, could you help me practice for our upcoming video? I need to act with a girl for this tough seeming romance scene.”

“Of course, Kookie! Anything to help you, especially since you were so sweet to help me earlier.” Her smile made his heart flutter. He hoped soon his could do the same to her.

Instructing ______ to stand by her bed and just go with what he did he began his ‘acting’.

“Why don’t you like me?” The words came out harsher than he meant them to but it was a relief to finally say them. “I know I have a baby face and I’m younger than you but does that really mean you can’t see me as a man?”

She seemed a bit shocked by his rough tone and look but blinked it away, probably thinking this was part of his ‘script’ for the imaginary MV. “I do like you though. Or wait, am I not supposed to say….?”

“Am I some kid brother to you?” Jungkook cut her words off, stepping closer and letting his true feelings come out. “Someone fun to play with, someone you can touch casually because it doesn’t really mean anything? Because it means something to me! Your touch drives me crazy and I can’t stand that mine does nothing to you!”

He was raising his voice now but he didn’t care. He needed her to hear this.

“Do I need to make you scared of me to prove that I’m a man and not a child? That I’m not someone you should just keep your guard down around?” With those words he pushed her down on the bed, pinning her arms down and looming over her. She did look a bit scared, then. Her beautiful eyes widened with shock and the gasp that escaped her lips as she hit the bed made him want to both apologize and do unforgivable things to her at the same time.

He stared deeply into her eyes, looking for some sign of understanding. He didn’t find it, so he decided to spell it out as clear as he could.

“I see you as a woman. Now I want you to see me as a man, ______.”

When he said her name she understood, he was sure she did, but to really drive it home he did what he had wanted to do for so long; deciding that if she refused him at least he would have this memory. He kissed her.

She didn’t kiss back so after a few seconds Jungkook pulled away to find her eyes still wide with shock. He felt his face heat up, wished he could take it all back. Why had he thought this would work?

“I’m sorry,” He began, scrambling to get off of her.

“No, I… Kookie, wait!”

He had been heading towards the door, about to run away because he couldn’t face her just now. Yet even though he felt like crying, something he couldn’t possibly let her see after making claims about being an adult, she still had the power to make him obey.

“What?” He asked without turning around, hoping she couldn’t hear the pain in his voice.

“Kookie… Jungkook. It’s not that… I don’t see you as a man. I just never thought… I mean…” He heard her sigh, knew she was probably scrunching up her face in that cute way she did when she couldn’t find the right words.

“I used to like you.” This time it was Jungkook’s turn to be shocked. He turned around to find her sitting on the edge of the bed, looking towards his feet rather than his face. “As more than a friend, I mean. But you never seemed to see me as more than a friend and… then you got all famous and cool and had half of Korea fall for you so I just… made myself stop.”

She looked up at him and he couldn’t remember his heart ever beating faster.

Gathering up some courage Jungkook timidly whispered: “Do you think you could start again?”
