Looking up you realized it had started to snow. You pulled your coat tighter around you, sheltering yourself from the biting cold. But you didn’t mind, you liked the snow. Especially when it was like this: soft, beautiful snowflakes falling gently to the earth.

”______?” You looked down from the falling snowflakes at the sound of your name.

"Jungkook? Hi! What are you doing out here so late?" You were just heading out from your school since your club had been going until late. As far as you knew your club members were the only ones still around.

"Me? Oh, well I was… waiting for you." He glanced up at you, his big eyes hopeful. "Mind if I walk home with you?"

You stared at Jungkook in awe. It was at least an hour since the guys had finished their practice and left the gym. You’d seen them leave from the window. He had waited for you all this time, out here in the cold?

"Um. Sure. I mean, of course you can." You weren’t quite sure how to react. Kookie was your friend, you’d been in the same class for three years and you enjoyed chatting with him. It was just that he’d never done something like this before.

Jungkook smiled happily at you, walking by your side. Did he even live in this direction? He must do, although you couldn’t remember meeting him on your way to or from school.

"So um, did you have fun with your club?" Jungkook asked, pulling you from your thoughts.

"Yeah, it was fun." You told him all about what you had been doing and the two of you shared a laugh about your other friends’ silliness.

"Hey, ______?" Jungkook asked when you were about three quarters of the way home.

"Yeah?"

"I was wondering… that is… I mean… gah!" Jungkook shook his head, looking like he was having a mad internal argument. After a moment he stopped and looked directly into your eyes. "The truth is, I really like you. Like, really really like you. And I was wondering if maybe you’d want to go on a date with me this weekend?"

His cheeks were tinted pink and he fidgeted and shuffled his feet as he waited for you to answer, still not looking away from your eyes.

As you watched his breath steam in the cold air you felt your own cheeks heat up. You had had no idea Jungkook liked you like that. Truth be told you'd had a mini crush on him for a while now so hearing him say that was making your heart race.

"Um... yeah." You replied softly, looking down with a smile. "I mean, yes! I'd love to." You looked back up, finding Jungkook beaming at you.

"Great!" He said, looking relieved and very happy. "How about going to a café? We can go shopping for Christmas presents afterwards."

With that statement Jungkook grabbed your hand, holding it as you began walking again. You could have sworn that, even through the thick layers of your gloves, you could feel the heat of his palm in yours.
