You smiled unconsciously when you saw him standing there with a dorky grin, waving at you. You waved back before running up to him, hoping you hadn’t made him wait too long.

"Hey, ______! You look really pretty today."

You blushed at the comment, happiness surging through you. “Thanks, Hoseok-ie. Have you been here long?” He smiled when you used your nickname for him, shaking his head.

"Nah, only like a minute." The two of you smiled at each other for a while before Hoseok added: "So, where do you want to start?"

"Um… how about over there?" You pointed to a random store nearby, not really caring where you went. Just getting to finally go on a date with Hoseok was enough for you.

You’d been crushing on him for weeks, pretty much ever since your friend introduced you two. You’d quickly become good friends yourselves, you always found it easy to be yourself around him for some reason. When he finally called you two days ago to ask if you wanted to hang out with him you’d felt your heart skip a beat. After you asked who else would be there and he replied: “I was hoping it could be just the two of us. Like a date. If you want to, that is.” you’d practically died on the spot, barely managing to tell him yes, you most definitely wanted to go on a date with him.

And now here you were, walking into a random clothing store with the most awesome guy you knew!

"Here, try this on!" Hoseok said, plopping a kitty hat on your head. You giggled, picking up a matching dog one and making him try that one on. You laughed at each other, taking a picture to commemorate your silliness.

"We should buy these." Hoseok said when you took the hat off. "The kitty one looks adorable on you."

"The dog one suits you too," you told him with a laugh, "but buying them?"

"Why not? It could be our first couple item."

You weren’t sure whether to blush or laugh, so you did both. You couldn’t believe this was happening! Usually first dates were pretty awkward for you, despite being a fairly open and friendly person. This was a completely new feeling, one you quite liked. Besides, he’d just said you were a couple! On your first date! You might have limited experience but from what you knew not a lot of guys did that.

You left the store, matching kitty and dog hats on your heads. You hadn’t walked far before Hoseok’s hand found yours, much to your delight.

After an hour and a half of wandering around, looking into stores and playing around with the things you found there (including literal playing around when you went into a toy store) the two of you found a nice café to sit down and rest in.

"That guy so hates us already." Hoseok whispered when you sat down, talking about the guy at the café’s counter.

You glanced over at the scowling man, giggling. “He looks like he hates everyone. Have you ever heard such a grumpy ‘welcome’ before?”

"Maybe it was our hats?" Hoseok suggested, tugging at your kitty hat’s ear.

"Or maybe it’s just young couples he hates. Can’t you just see him grumbling about ‘young kids these days’?"

You both laughed, stifling it down as the very man you were talking about brought over your hot chocolate and Hoseok’s coffee. The moment he was gone the two of you burst into another fit of laughter.

You shared a look and a smile, both taking a sip of your hot drinks to try and calm down. Hoseok stared at you after you put your cup down, an amused glint in his eyes.

"What?" You asked, wondering if you had something on your face. You raised your hand to wipe at your mouth but Hoseok stopped you. In the same fluid movement as his hand grabbed yours he leaned in, planting a kiss on your lips.

Your surprise lasted only a moment before your wide eyes slid shut and you kissed him back. The kiss still didn’t last very long, Hoseok pulling back with a smile, his lips in the iest way.

"Your chocolate tastes quite good," he commented, making you blush scarlet.

"Yah, if you wanted a sip you could have just asked." You told him, mock angry tones ruined by your smile.

"This was more fun." Hoseok said with a laugh. "Besides," he added solemnly, holding his finger in the air like he was giving a lecture, "it’s a boyfriend’s duty to kiss whipped cream off his girlfriend’s lips."

You smiled at him despite your blush, his words playing over in your head. ‘his girlfriend’s lips.’ You most definitely liked being called his girlfriend. You liked the taste of his lips too and right now you were certain you would get to taste them a lot more often.

"What else is it ‘a boyfriend’s duty’ to do?" You asked, laughing as you realized Hoseok’s cheeks were tinted pink as well.

With a cheeky grin he replied: “You’ll just have to wait for the next date to find out.”
