"Nothing ever goes the way I want it to. There's always something that ends up messing everything over."

I thought to myself as I try to scramble through all the clothes in the pile for a shirt that was my size. Holiday shopping was the worst. I would have to go through 8 malls to find the one shirt I've been eyeing for months. Mostly because I'm lazy, but who really wants to go outside in this blistering cold weather anyways? Defeated, I sigh as I exit the store empty handed.

It's impossible navigating the streets when everyone is out of school for the holidays. It's packed everywhere I go and I can't even stop at a Starbucks to grab a cup of coffee without waiting at least 15 minutes in line. Why can't things just go my way for once in my holiday shopping life, or life in general?! I had failed to notice that I was about to walk into a lightpost and it was going to hur--

*Clunk*

Let me rephrase that. I had failed to notice that I walked into a light post and it hurt like hell. I looked down as I felt a warmth engulfing my face. Man was that embarrassing or what? In my embarrassment, I started to pick up my pace with my head down as people looked at me and ran right into someone. Apparently this guy was as big as Shaquille O'Neal because as soon as I smacked into his back, I stumbled back from the impact and it looked as though he was unphased. I quickly looked up to mutter out an apology but my words get caught in my throat.

Wow...you're really cute.

"Umm, thanks?"

"Yeah... You did."

I looked back up at the boy and noticed that he was looking down at something before looking back up at me pouting.
