"This is the Department of Surgery's nurses station."

Kris was showing me around.

So this is what its like at a large Seoul hospital.....

The scale and energy of the place are nothing like those of other hospitals...

"The chief nurse will give you a tour of the units."

"My name is Oh Minji. I'm the chief nurse."

"I am Nam Jihyun,a nurse here. Nice to meet you."

I introduced myself to them.

"That will be all from me. I have to go give a lecture at Yonsei University."

"Of course, thank you Dr Kris."

"Just Kris is fine,Jiyoon. Oh by the way, I'm looking forward to tonight.."

Kris winked at me before leaving.

"Tonight?"

"He's always teasing like that..." Minji commented.

I look at Minji for answer.

"We've planned a welcome party."

"A welcome party?"

"Yup,"another nurse joined in our conversation. "Oh, I'm Ha Gayoon. You're gonna love it!"

"Thanks..."

They're nice. I dont know about a welcome party though...

"Hello ladies. How's it going"

"Ah,hello again Mr Zhang,"Minji greets him back.

"Oh and who is this?"

"A new doctor, starting today in Surgery, Jeon Jiyoon."

We both looked at each other.

"You're...... Yoonie?"

My eyes grew wide. 

"Its me Lay!"

"Lay?"

"Yup...! Lay aka Zhang Yixing."

Oh I remember him. But why is he here?"

"Its been a while Yoonie...."

The nurses look at us with questioning look.

"Yoonie moved when we were juniors in high school so...that makes it twelve years"

"What are you doing here?"

"I worked for a medical supply company. At the moment, I'm assigned to this hospital," he answered.

"My goodness. You already knew each other? Its a small world,"Minji commented.

"We've been friends since we were kids..... So... you're a doctor?"

I nodded.

Lay suddenly looked sad."Although I remember you saying 'If only I were a doctor..' after your mother...But why this hospital? This is where she....."

I panicked. 

"Hey...! Enough of that. We're at work right?"

"Sorry.... I just got excited."

Lay doesnt know that my mothet died due to a doctor's mistake but I cant let him blow my cover after all my preparations. 

Talking about my mother here will get me into trouble.

"I've been thinking that I had to see you again..."

His eyes look so directly into mine thay its blinding.

Lay......

What would he think of me if he knew I was here to take revenge for the injustice done to my mother?

"So did you guys go out or what?" Gayoon asked curiously.

"What....! We were just friends."

"Just friends only?" Jihyun teased. "Well,you know you could've been each other's first love."

"We werent!"

I aggressively pushed y hair back with my hand.

Lay giggles at the sight.

"Dont worru we're just kidding," Jihyun said with a small laugh.

"Hey Lay! You should come to the party tonight to celebrate," Gayoon invites.

"Tonight?"

"We're having a welcome party for Dr Jeon," Jihyun said.

"This is perfect.You should come Mr Zhang."

Lay looked at them. "Well, you leave me with no choice."

"Yay,"Gayoon and Jihyun said in unison.

"Okay, okay. Dont get too excited, back to work evetyone!" Minji said.

The nurses nodded before they left.

Its only the two of us left now.

"Yoonie.."

"Yes?"

"Tell me if your memories becomes too much for you to handle."

"What do you mean?"

"This is the hospital where your mother passed away..."

"Yes but all hospitals are same. I would appreciate it if you would stop making me remember it. Not here...."

"I am sorry but..... You havent changed. Still acting tough......still running your fingers through your hair when you lie."

"You're just remembering a high schooler..."

"But you did it when they asked if I was your first love."

"That.!"

"I wonder if thats all over.For you....I mean..."

"Lay....."

Our eyes met...

Quit it Lay... You shouldnt get involved with me....for your own sake...

"Dont tease me."

"Tease you but......"

I cut him off. "Anyway, we're both supposed to be working right now..."

Lay looked at me sadly. "You're right....I'm sorry."

Minji came back to us.

"Dr Jeon, shall we begin the tour"

I nodded. 

"Sorry, I've gotta go."

"Yeah, later."

I followed Minji's lead.
