I was walking on the street of my apartment.

I have feeling for Lu Han...

Eversince it happend, I cant get the kiss out of my head.

And he feels the same for me....

"I'm home."

As always, I greet the photo of my mother that sits in the entryway.

In the photo, my mother and I are surrounded by her favourite flower, poppies.

We're smiling.

I had no idea she would be taken away from me soon after.

I know Lu Han is the son of my enemy.

I look away from the photo.

Falling for the enemy's son, of all people.

After the day I swore revenge, I didnt think I'd feel this way about anybody again..

I wonder if Lu Han is here already?

I satnd atthe door to the office and looked around.

All of a sudden, Kris appeared in front of me

''What wrong? Are you coming in?

N-Nothing's wrong...

Act normal Jiyoon! Its just another day like all the others.

Lu Han appeared behind him. 

"Good morning,"he said expressionless as he walk pass us.

"Good morning."I greet back.

Without thinking, I cast my eyes downward upon the unexpected greeting.

I thought Lu Han would stop for a chat but he just walk away.

"Did something happen again?"Kris asked, his eyes looking at me micheviously.

"What do you mean?"

He rub his chin thoughtfully. "I dunno, it seems like something is off between you two..."

"I guess..,"I whispered that out without thinking, surprising myself.

'Oh? What is it?"

"No, its nothing."

"If there is something, you can talk to me."

"I'm okay, its really nothing. Well, see you later..."

I quickly went inside the office.

Phew...I did it again. 

Everyone is going to be suspicious of me soon. I have to stay more focus.

"Begin the procedure for discharging Mr Shin Hye Sung in Room 702."

Nurse Jihyun nodded at my instruction.

"Hey, Mr Zhang!"She calls out happily. Her face totally lit up.

"Hi, Nurse. Doctor,"Lay said with his usual smile.

"Hello,"I said back.

Lay looked at me and his expression was weird. 

His mouth seems to be hanging.

He peered at my face closely.

"W-what?"

This time his face looks sad. "Um, its nothing."

"Are you captivated by her beauty?"Nurse Jihyun said brightly.

"What? Well..umm."

"What's with that? Quit it Nurse Jihyun."

"But I was thinking it myself,"Jihyun said, observing my face. "Like, you always look pretty but today you've got this glow about you....Is it love?"

What? Do I really?

"Love..? What are you talking about, nothing happened,"I denied in flustered. "Haha, that's very cute of you to say."

"Nurse Jihyun is always cute and upbeat,"Lay adds.

She cupped her face happily."I am?"

Nurse Jihyun blushes bright red. So she 's in love with Lay...

"All right, I'll take my leave...."

"Hey hey, wait a second."Lay said, cutting my words.

"Hmm?"

"Cant we have a conversation every once in a while? As a doctor of and representative of a medical supply manufacturer?"

I thought about it. "I guess we can..."

"Oh Dr Lu,"Lay calls out.

I turn around and saw him.

Lu Han approaches us.

"I'm about to talk to Dr Jeon about some new equipment we have available.If you have a moment, could you please join us?"

I didnt expect him to invite Lu Han too.

"Its ok Lay, Dr Lu is a busy man,"I helped Lu Han answer.

"Its Mr Zhang,"Lay pointed out with a smile.

"Right, sorry Mr Zhang..."

"You two each other?"Lu Han asked.

"We've known each other since we were kids.Together all the way thru high school...right?"

"Yes,"I acknowledged.

I grabbed Lay's shoulder and ushered him to have our talk. 

"I'll listen to what you have to say so let's hurry up and get to it."

"But..."

"Come on!,"I urged.

I desperately try to get out of here as quickly as possible.

And Lu Han watches me carefully.

"Okay, I'll come along,"he said.

"Y-you will?"I asked.

Oh gosh, what is he trying to do?

Lay was so excited. 'Really? Thank you! Its a privillage to be presenting to you. Lets get going then."

Being together with the two of them is so awkward.

Why does this have to happen today.....?

"Please turn to page 5,"Lay procedded to deftly explain the new equipment.

He doesnt resemble his teenage self at all.

Now he's a businessman with a good position, and it looks like he's good at his work...

That's natural of course. Its been 12 years.

The only one who's stuck in the past is me.

I look at Lu Han, who's concentrating on listening to Lay.

All of a sudden, the bartender's words comes back to me.

'He was this young guy, always laughing about something.'

I dont know whether something happened in Lu Han's life but maybe...Maybe he's stuck in time too.

Which means, we're alike....

"Dr Hime?"

I was snapped out of my thinking.

"Hmm?"

"Were you listening?"Lay asked, his face serious.

"Of course,"I replied. 

My eyes searched for Lu Han but apparently he was missing.

"He left, a second ago,"Lay provided me the info.

"Oh, I see.."

"You werent listening,"he said again.

"That's not trues but I kinda zoned out...I am sorry."

"Is it about Dr Lu?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, about what Nurse Jihyun was saying, asking if it is love?"

"Give me a break, you took that seriously?"

"Its not that I took it seriously. Its just that when I was talking, I noticed that you kept looking at him."

Aish....caught again. 

I need to staple my eyelids so that I can stop oggling at Lu Han.

"I was not. Forget it, whats going on with you anyway?"

"What? Me?"

"You do know how Nurse Jihyun feels about you, dont you?"

Lay packed the brochures into his briefcase.

"Well, I dont want to mix my work with my personal life."

"Well its the same for me. I respect Dr Lu as a doctor and as a person. But that's all."

"Yeah, yeah. You're right."

"Of course I am."

I strolled outside for fresh air.

I've got to keep it together!

I become close to Lu Han for revenge.

I returned to the office and saw Kris handing Lu Han a pamphlet.

I sat down at my desk and began doing some paperwork.

"Its the phamplet for the televised surgery at Gangnam University."

"Thanks,"Lu Han said.

"It comes to on one's surprised that you've been selected over the doctors affiliated with the university. Still, the Director was very pleased. He'll be there as well as the professors of medicine from Gangnam.I'm thinking of attending it myself. I havent seen you at work for quite some time. Would that be alright?"

"Yes, of course."

"Good. I have to submit an application to Gangnam regarding your operating staff. I'm thinking of Tao as your first assistant and Kai as your second."

"No.. Make Jeon the first assistant."

What? Me?

I stopped whatever I am doing and look at them both.

"Yes, well...the operation will be broadcasted. Its different from a regular operation. Jeon is lacking the experience and...."

"An operation is just an operation,"Lu Han said firmly."There shouldnt be any problem. Anyway, I was planning to ask Tao to handle a different surgery that day."

"I see, I suppose it cant be helped then."

Kris beckoned me over.

"Jeon, Xiao Lu wants you with him on a surgery that's going to be broadcasted on television. Its scheduled the day after tomorrow. Can you do it?"

Kris hands me the pamphlet.

It'll be on TV...

A lot of people out there will see us in action.

Meaning no mistakes, no matter how small...

"Yes, I'll do it.'

I look straight at Lu Han.

It'll be okay. We can do this.

But Lu Han turn his gaze away from me.

I was confused at his action.

"Okay then, I'll submit the documents to Gangnam.Its an extremely important event, both for Xiao Lu and for this hospital. We need you to do your best, Jeon."

"I understand, I will."

"Here are the details of the operation,"Lu Han.

His eyes are still directed downwards as he pushes a fat stack of papers towards me and then goes off somewhere.

I should just concentrate on this operation.

If I do that, the confusion in my herat will subside.

I returned to my desk and flip thru the pages.

Hmm?

'Staircase' is scribbled on a sticky note.

Okay.....

I look up at the stairs and Lu Han is standing there but not smoking.

"Lu Han."

"Sorry. For asking you to come out here."

"Its fine."

I can feel the tension between us.

"Thanks for agreeing to be on the operation."

"Not at all but..."

"What?"

"I was surprised. You singling me out like that..."

"Just because its going to be on TV, doesnt mean its any different from all of our other operations.We still have a patient to save. Looking back at my past operations, I thought that it would be best to be paired with you."

"I see."

"Is there something else you wanna ask?"

"I was thinking that it might be difficult for you, working on this together with me..."I answered.

'What are you talking about?"

"Never mind..Its nothing. You would never bring your prsonal feelings into your work...Let alone let them interfere with an operation that can save a patient's life. Compared, I'm pathetic. Mixing up work with my private life..."

"Mixing up work and private life,"he repeated what I just said.

Lu Han laughs softly. "Clearly, I'm no different."

"Why do you say that?"

"I called you out here during work....'

"Yeah but..."

"Do you think I'd call you out all the way here just to talk about an operation?"

I looked at him in silence.

"I thought we should talk."

I felt my chest tighten.

Somehow his face tells me that its not going to be a good news.

"About what?"I managed to answer.

I recalled our rooftop kiss. His kiss.

"I'm sorry."

"What for? Why are you apologizing?"

"For confusing you."

I looked away, my eyes started to blur with unshed tears.

"How am I supposed to respond to that apology?"

"I'm sorry.... But being even the slightest bit distraction can be fatal in this job."

"I am aware of that."

"I'm not just talking about you. Its the same for me too. Its just as you said. I intended to recommend you as assiatnat because of your skills but when I looked at your face, I suddenly didnt know what to say. When you're with me, I'm not able to make sober judgements."

I looked at him in disbelief. I bit my lower lips hard. 

"So are you saying that I should forget everything and act like it never happen? Is that it?"

Then why kiss me in the first place!

I nod my head at him, my tears flowing.. "Understood.'

What is wrong with me..I'm acting like a fool...

Overwhelmed by my emotions, I clumsily make my way down the stairs.

"Wait..!"

Lu Han comes after me and grabbed my arm.

I desperately choked back my tears.

I cant let him see me like this.

I tried pushing his hands away but his grip was too strong.

"If you're afraid of losing your sober judgement....If you wanna act like nothing happened, then let me go already."

He didnt say anything.

"You and I are different...Unlike you, I cant just forget what's happened when its convenient! I...I was happy......!"

"I didnt say anything about forgetting it."

"Stop confusing me. I said let go!"

Lu Han wrap his arms around me.

I pushed him away but he push my body to the cold wall and kissed me hard.

I felt his tongue inside me.

"Hmmmm."I moaned out in anger.

I punched his chest to make him stop but he just kept on kissing me.

I felt my energy left my body when he nibbles on my neck.

He kissed me back when I stopped struggling.

This time the kiss is gentle.

He paused for air and look at my face.

"I really like you Jiyoon."

He rubs away my tears with his thumb..

Lu Han.......

I kissed his nose and kissed him back before i can formulate my thought.

He is the son of the enemy but he's nothing like his father.

I have no idea what will come of this.

But for now, I'm going to obey my feelings....

"I'm home.."

The second I look at my mother's photo, feelings of guilt overwhelm my heart.

"I'm sorry Mom...But this doesnt mean I've given up. I get Lu Jie for what he's done to you..."

Continuing to look at me mother's smile, my heart grew painful. I softly turn the frame around so I cant see its contents.

"You two did a fine job out there,"Lu Jie said with a big smile."It was a perfect surgery.The professors were impressed too.They told me that Seoul General Hospital has excellent staff."

"Ah, that's good to hear,"Kris said. "And Xiao Lu was right, Jeon was the right choice for his first assistant. Anyone who was watching could tell that you two were perfectly in sync."

"You think so?"I asked, blushing.

"Its exactly as he says,"Lu Jie answered. 'I was tremendously impressed on that point."

Could it be that he knows I am dating his son?

My eyes met Lu Han.

His lips form a tiny smile as I wonder whether we were thinking of the same thing.

"Well, I'm off to dine with the professors. Prof Kim asked me to invite you along Kris."

"It would be an honour sir."

"What about you two?Lu Jie asked.

"I have an appointment later,"I said.

"Me too,"Lu Han answered.

"Well, alright. That's okay. This is my area of strength after all. leave it to me . Ha ha ha."

Lu Jie and Kris walks away.

"Shall we?"Lu Han asked as he holds put his hand to me.

"Yeah but your're going by car right? I'm gonna take a bus home. So see you tomorrow."

I playfully rejected him and waved him goodbye.

He caught my hands. "Oh no, you dont."

He dragged me to his car . I put my bag behind the backseat and I snuggle up to him.

"What appoinment do you have later?"he asked curiously.

"A date with my ....... bed! I miss my bed. Can you see the dark circles below my eyes? I'm sleep deprieved!"

Lu Han laughs. 

"You're a cute panda."

We went dinner together.

He stopped the car in front of my apartment.

"Is here okay?"

"Yeah.."

I reach for my bag and accidentally drop it when Lu Han stole a kiss on my cheek.

"Ah...,"I groaned.  Everything fell out of my bag.

I get out of the car and opens the door to the backseat to pick up the mess.

"I'm sorry,"Lu Han said, grinning.

"Your sorry, doesnt look sincere,"I teased.

We kissed goodbye.

I watched as his car turn at the intersection up ahead and then I walk towards my apartment.

I was nervous during the televised operation.

I find myself letting out a sigh as I look at my bag on the table.

"Huh, what's this?"

A thick notebook that isnt mine is in the bag.

I remember this...

Its Lu Han's notebook , the one he uses to record, patients whom he loses...

I must have taken this by mistake when I stuffed my things in a hurry.

I picked up my mobile to call Lu Han.

Then I notice, the letters spelling out Kim Ok Bin.

Its on a page that has nearly fallen out of the notebook and is now sticking out slightly.

Kim Ok Bin is my mother's name..

Why is her name here?

Arent all these patient entries, belongs to Lu Han?

But my mother's doctor is Lu Jie.

I turn the page as if I'm in a trance.

There, unbelievable words are lined up, one after the next.

'The Director entrusted me with the removal of the affected area. I was unsuccessful at peeling the artries. I lost the patient.'

I lost the patient?

This means that the person who made the mistake was.....

My mobile rang.

The name 'Lu Han' appears on my phone's screen. 

The target of my revenge is...him?
