Answer Me 2009{ Cheering! }
December 5th, 2010.
"Venus is going to be our debut song," Summer muttered to herself as she flipped through the pages of her Korean literature book. Her headphones were plugged in as she listened to the vocal guide for their debut song (that was recorded by Yoojin, and admittedly, it was funny listening to her sing this). As she sat in the empty dorm room, she let out a sigh. Normally, she would be sharing this room with Haneul and Flora. After they were selected to debut, they moved out of a dorm and into an apartment with the rest of their members. Two new girls had moved into the dorm, but they worked around different hours and she didn't have time to talk to them. It'd be an understatement to say that she was lonely as she wasn't used to being alone.
As she continued to study for tomorrow's Korean literature test, two people peaked into the dorm without the girl noticing.
"Hello, my dear former roommate," the girl said in English, her London accent still quite strong. Before Summer could react to the sudden words, Haneul tackle hugged the girl.
"We missed you sooo much!" Haneul exclaimed, not letting go of the girl, "I mean dorming with the rest of Mir4cle is cool, but I missed you, Summer!"
Summer let out a scream out of surprise, but she too was very happy.
"Congratulations on your upcoming debut as well!" Flora added, completely excited, "I heard you guys were doing this super pretty concept, and you guys got to help choreograph the dance and I'm just so jealous."
Haneul then let go of the girl and bounced on the bed, "Can we hear it?"
"Nope," called another voice, "Don't let Haneul listen to it!"
The trio turned to the doorway to see who was talking, and the voice belonged to no other than Miseul. Haneul batted her eyelashes, but to no avail, Miseul did not give in. Before the girls could utter another word, Minjung and Hyeri came dashing into Summer's room. The two almost knocked over Miseul, but the girl stayed steady as Hyemi got there in time to help her balance.
"Guess what!" Hyeri exclaimed first. Minjung seemed quite excited as well.
"Did Yoojin cancel practice?" asked Summer, a bit too cheerfully.
"No, better than that," Minjung snickered, not surprised at all about Summer's question. "You know how our company had auditions a few months back?"
"Please don't tell me you guys have more competition," groaned Flora, "I just want to have a special stage with Summer and my life will be complete."
"There are two new male trainees actually," Hyemi said, ruining the tension in the room. The girls who did not know of this information turned the youngest female trainee of the company. "One has an older brother training in SM named Joonmyun. Hyunjae knows his older brother. And the other guy won JYP's open auditions last year, and he passed the YG audition from what rumors say. He didn't want to sign with either company. Jaemin's also meeting with a trainee named Moonkyu from SM Entertainment."
"Wait, that kid didn't want to sign with YG or SM?" asked Flora, eyes widening. "I couldn't even pass SM's open auditions, and YG would never even look at me! That kid is crazy. No offense to you, Miseul, for leaving YG."
Miseul nodded, not sure if she was offended or not by Flora's comment as it was flattering yet...rude.
"The one who has an older brother's name is Donghyun," announced Kyle, peaking his head into the room filled with females. As he peaked his head into the room, Summer tossed a pillow at his head and screamed, "OUT OF THE ROOM, ERT. GIRLS NEED THEIR PRIVACY!"
The rest of the girls burst into laughter while Kyle managed to dodge the pillow. He stuck his tongue out at Summer and then continued talking, "The other kid seems like he's right up SM's alley as well. He's handsome and talented."
"Do you love him?" asked Hyeri, dashing over to Kyle side and holding his hand. Minjung snickered while Kyle turned bright red.
"No, I'm dating Hyemi!" the boy hissed, batting the girl's hand away. The rest of the girls looked slightly confused. Their maknae was dating someone? Hyemi shot him a strange look, and he gulped. Crap, he spilled the beans.
"Did you partake in any drinking lately?" Minjung asked, quite seriously. She had to admit that this was one of the last things she expected. Kyle was the polar opposite of Hyemi, he was a blabbermouth and the gossip girl of the company. "Or perhaps illegal drugs? Or some kind of strange substance?"
"No, Kyle didn't!" Hyemi said, going over to the boy's side. She held onto his arm as he pulled her out of the room.
"How much do you wanna bet Hyunjae is going to be jealous?" asked Summer, muttering so that the couple couldn't hear them as they left.
"I'd bet Camden's collection of SNSD albums, and his f(x) poster that was signed by Victoria," Flora announced, chuckling to herself. "So, who wants to break the news to lover boy?"
"I don't approve of this especially right before our debut," Miseul said, but none of the girls could hear her as they continued to gossip about this new discovery.
"Minhi, promise me you won't stay up too late," a boy's voice said, coming from Summer's handphone. The girl let out a huff of annoyance and then responded rather quickly, "Hyungsik, I won't. Stop worrying about me, okay? I'm not four."
"You might as well be!" chided the boy quite loudly, earning snickers from Minjung who happened to be borrowing her computer. After she let out another sigh, he then also added, "Your Korean has gotten better too. Have you been practicing?"
Summer nodded though the male idol could not see her. She rolled on her bed before she continued to talk to him. "Yeah, Miseul had been practicing with me a lot after dance practice."
"That's good," the boy murmurred. The New York native could almost see the slight smile on his face as they continued to talk about complete nonsense. Ever since Hyungsik debuted, she hadn't had much time to talk to him. She missed all their little conversations and meetups. As he was now an idol, it was a lot harder for them to meet up. The group definitely wasn't popular or from a big company, so, it wasn't as bad as compared to...if he debuted in Super Junior or SHINee. So, he still had time for her in between t
