~ Chapter 3 Seoul Here I Come!
Your POV I woke up panting. 'Where the hell am I?' I looked around trying to figure out where I was. It was dark and an unpleasant musty smell lingered. I could also smell traces of alcohol and cigarettes. There was hardly any light except for the dying bulb above me. A rickety table stood unstably near where I was sitting, shards of glass and empty wine bottles sat on it. "Umma? Appa? Is anyone there?" I called out. I tried to stand up only to realise I was tightly bound to the chair. As I struggled more the ropes cut into my wrists causing them to slightly bleed. "Help! Help! Anyone! Please!" I called out desperately. I again tried to move and create some sort of noise to alert anyone about. I sat still letting my chin fall to rest against my chest. My breaths came out heavy and uneven. Suddenly the door on the far side of the room opened with a loud bang. The sound echoed around the small room followed by a killing silence. A cackling laugh emitted from the intruder. I craned my neck towards the noise trying to identify the mystery person. 'Hopefully I could be someone that can help me...'. Unfortunately it wasn't... "Well, well, well. Looks like the little miss is finally awake. I hope you enjoyed your sleep." The intruder said, his deep voice dripping with sarcasm. "Who are you? What do you want from me?" I questioned. I was scared about what would come. The man stepped slightly into the light only revealing a sly smirk and eyes tinted with evil. "What do I want? I want you... Dead." He said straightforwardly staring right into my eyes. I shivered at the eye contact. I watched him closely trying to predict his next move but he was to sneaky for me. If I could I would have fought him but I couldn't I was tied to this stupid chair. With ease and swiftness he drew a sharp knife from his back pocket. It's blade glinted in the light, it's tip was dripping with fresh blood. Who's ever it was I surely didn't want to find out. He touched the tip with this index finger, not allowing it to cut him. He pointed the knife towards me... "I'm sorry it had to end this way. I never liked your parents and then you came along and I hated you as much I hated them." He snickered "You! What did you do to my parents?" I yelled in fury, giving him an icy death glare. "Only what is about to happen to you" he said not letting the glare affect him He then began to move the blade closer towards my throbbing heart. It slowly descended at a painfully slow speed. I intently observed it as it began to become closer. The man watched in happiness at my pain as he shoved the knife in deeper. "Ahh!" I whimpered in pain as it struck my heart. "Appa... Umma... Saraghaeyo." And with that I closed my eyes and everything went black. "Miss? Miss? Please wake up. The plane has just landed." My sleep was interrupted as I felt someone gently shaking my shoulder. I mumbled some incoherent words before slowly opening my eyes. They felt a bit crusty *Was I crying? I promised myself not to anymore... oh well I repromise myself not to cry anymore* I balled my hands into fists and used my knuckles to rub my eyes a little more to wake me up. A flight attendant stood in front of me smiling. Her smile looked so practised and it was quite blinding. I "Miss the plane just landed in Seoul." She said politely. "Thank you for waking me up!" I bowed ninety degrees in thanks and watched as she walked of to wake up some other dozing passengers. I slowly stretched out my numb limbs before standing up and retrieving my small bag of remaining possessions. I then walked off to exit the plane, bowing at the flight attendants I passed along the way. Finally I entered the airport. Even though it was only 6pm in Seoul, the airport was already bustling with activity as people departed and arrived. I looked around trying to find my cousin. I was actually quite hard given the fact that I hadn't seen him in at least ten years. As I looked around I noticed a family saying bye to their daughter before she departed. She looked around my age. At the sight my tears threatened to fall. It was still hard to believe I would never see my parents again. *Aish! Ara you've never been this emotional before... what is wrong with you?! You've already promised not to cry so just forget about umma and appa and their uncaring attitude towards you an
