Kyungsoo and You

“Jia-ya… You looks so beautiful! You should be my girlfriend instead of my sister.” Jongdae said to you playfully as he saw you wearing your new gown.

“Andwae[1] hyung! She’ll be my girlfriend when we’re both older.” Kyungsoo said protectively when he lingering his hand around your small shoulder, successfully making you blushed.

“Aren’t you already being her boyfriend now? You always hang out around her and acts so protectively towards her so other guys never try to hint on her.” Jongdae teased.

“I---I’m not- I’m… I’m not like that.” Kyungsoo let a weak protest as his face is a shadow of red.

“Jongdae oppa, stop it.” You said and pouted cutely.

“Okay, I’ll stop it. Looks like you love him more than you love me, your handsome brother.” Jongdae said and faking a sad face. “You don’t know how strong she really is Kyungsoo-ya…” Jongdae said again while patted Kyungsoo’s shoulder as you gave your brother a death glare.

It’s true that Kyungsoo always acts protectively towards you, like warning all the people who’ll hurt you or a guy who’ll approaches you or wants to know about you and give them a signal like telling them that you are his, although he was just 4 years old boy at that time, just two months older than you. But that situation keeps going on for 14 years ever since he said his indirect confession to you when Jongdae teased both of you. Both of you always went to the same school even always being a classmates and seatmates. He never forget to give you your favorite chocolate on a White Day just like you always give him a chocolate on Valentine’s Day. He also gave you present every Christmas and a present every year on your birthday. He always be the first person to call you in the middle of the night to sing happy birthday song just because he wanted to be the first person to congratulate you. He even try to learn cooking with you just because you take interest in it. In a summarized, he always be there for you, filled your day by standing beside you, held your hand, hugged you, comforted you whenever you want to and never absent once in your life. And it makes you frustrated, knowing the fact that his existence is a part of your life.

“Jia-ya, you looks so pale. Are you okay? Did you feel better?” Kyungsoo asked you as you lay down on your bed. He came to your house after school over as you didn’t attending school today. At first he insisted to skip school once when he knew you were sick -while he came to your house in the morning like he usually do so you, Jongdae and him can go to school together- as he worried about you. But you scolded him and your brother took him away –even Kyungsoo didn’t want to- so he finally go to school and go straight to your house once school is over.

“I’m okay oppa. It’s just a cold.” You gave him a weak smile before closed your eyes as your eyelids felt so heavy.

“Jia-ya… Kim Jia…” Kyungsoo shake his hand in front of your face as you are deep in your thought. “So Kim Jia, you hear me right? You want to be my girlfriend, aren’t you?” He said as the nerves filled his voice.

“I… I'm sorry oppa. I can’t…”

“W-Why?!!”
