Your POV

You were sitting on your bed, scrolling through your iPad.

You looked at the news section, and saw in big bold letters,

SEOUL’S ONE AND ONLY HEIRESS’ BIRTHDAY IS TODAY! EVERYONE WISH HER A HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

You looked at the words, and sighed. You put on headphones and a slow song.

*Just another year closer to dying ~~~~ ah. Wooo-hooo.*

No One’s POV

U-kwon was sitting on the couch, flipping through the channels. B-bomb was seated next to him, reading the newspaper.

“Yah, U-kwonnie, isn’t this that girl you like?”

U-kwon looked at the newspaper, and saw in big bold letters,

SEOUL’S ONE AND ONLY HEIRESS’ BIRTHDAY IS TODAY! EVERYONE WISH HER A HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

He saw that there was a picture of you below the big caption.

“It’s her birthday today?”

*I wonder why she never told me...*

He took out his cell phone and sent you a text.

“~~~~, what are you doing right now?”

You texted back quickly,“Nothing.”

“She’s alone on her birthday?” U-kwon checked the time, and saw that it was already 10 P.M. He grabbed his sweater and ran out the door.

"I'LL BE BACK LATER HYUNG!" He hollered.

B-bomb watched him rush out and raised an eyebrow, “The things people do for love,” he sighed and rested his head on a pillow.

Your POV

You looked at the clock, and saw that it was past 11 P.M.

“One more hour...” you mumbled.

You heard your cell phone ring, and took off your headphones. “Hello?”

“~~~~ah?”

“Oh, it’s you, what?”

“Are you at home right now?”

“Yeah."

"In your room?"

"Yup. Why? You stalking me or something?"

He laughed, “No, I'm just asking. Stay there okay? Bye!”

The call then ended. You looked at your phone perplexed, “What the hell was that?” You mumbled.

For some reason, you had expected U-kwon to wish you a happy birthday. You immediately felt silly though.

“It’s not like I ever told him it was my birthday…”

You decided to take a shower. When you came out, it was 11:50. Nine more minutes passed by. You started counting down to midnight.

*One more minute, then I’ll go to sleep.*

“5, 4, 3, 2…1,” you muttered softly.

You were just about to turn off your lights when you heard a knock.

You looked up and saw U-kwon outside, flowers in one hand, and a white box in the other.

You got up and opened the patio door, closing it again when U-kwon got inside.

“Sorry. It. Took. Me. So. Long,” he panted.

“A lot of the cake stores were closed, and it took me a while to find these,” he showed you a bundle of mountain laurels.

You stared at him, and the things he had in his hands.

“I’m sorry I couldn’t get you a real gift. I wish you would’ve told me sooner.”

You didn’t say anything as your vision became blurry.

U-kwon’s eyes widened and he panicked, “OMO! W-why are you crying?!”

Tears streaked down your cheeks. You still didn’t make a sound.

U-kwon slowly put down the flowers and cake at looked at you worriedly, “I’m sorry! For whatever I did…”

You bit your lower lip and wrapped your arms around his back. 

“Thank you oppa.”

U-kwon was shocked at the sudden embrace; nevertheless he hugged you back and grinned, “You’re welcome.”

 You moved away from him and wiped the tears away from your cheeks.

He grabbed the white box off the floor and opened it, revealing a tiramisu cake. "Happy Birthday ~~~~!” was written across the cake in pink frosting. 

“How’d you know I liked tiramisu?” You asked.

“Ah well…that was the only cake they had left."

You laughed softly and picked up the mountain laurels.

“Were these the only flowers left?”

He chuckled, “Nope. I remember you told me these were your favorite flowers. They are right?”

You were overrun by a warm feeling. “Yeah, yeah they are.”

He beamed and stuck candles in the cake. He then lit them up.

“Make a wish!”

You closed your eyes, and put your hands together. When you opened them again, you saw U-kwon looking at you.

“What’d you wish for?”

“Snow. I wished it would snow.”

U-kwon made an OH face. He then looked out the window. “Oh...look at that.”

You followed his gaze and saw small white things falling down from the sky. You opened the patio door and held out your hand to feel the soft snow melt on your hands.

*It wasn't supposed to snow tonight...*

U-kwon came up behind you and took in a deep breath.

“Looks like your wish came true babe.”

You smiled, “I guess it did. Did you make it snow?"

He grinned, "I wish I did, but no..."

You looked at the snow and then hugged U-kwon tightly.

“You’re the best friend anyone could ever have.”
