Tiffany

Friends?

Sooyoung's POV

I can't forget those eyes...

 Hwang Miyoung...

I stood up and the teacher looked puzzled. "What's wrong Sooyoung?"

"I gotta go to the restroom..." I answered without hesitation. The teacher nodded and let me go. I walked past her, and she sent me smile that reminded me of the past. I gave a small smile, because I didn't want to make it into a big deal in front of everyone. Before I left though, Taeyeon was looking at me worriedly. I smiled more sincerely at her to tell her that I was fine. She looked a bit more relieved, so I decided to leave the class.

I reached the restroom and I leaned on the door when I went in.

Why is she here? Why did she come back when I'm in pain again? Does she want to hurt me again? Why did she change her name?

I sighed. I went to the mirrors and I looked at myself. Since I wasn't smiling, I looked so sad...

I shook my head and gently slapped myself. Ugh...too many things to be sad about...Jessica, Miyoung...Argh!!! I sighed.

I washed my face and used a paper towel to wipe my face dry. Since, I was in the restroom anyways, I did my business, washed my hands and left to go back to class.

The teacher told me to quickly go to my seat when she saw me enter. I just obediently nodded. As I walked to my seat, I passed by her again, but this time I ignored her. I looked directly at my seat and didn't give her a glance. When I got to my seat, I just buried my face in my arms.

What do I do? Act friendly? Be mean?

I shook my head.

No, that was three years ago. It's the past...we're in the present, so I should forgive and forget...right?

When the lunch bell rang, I was about to stand up, but someone stood infront of my desk.

"Hi..." She said cautiously. I looked up and I see her shyly smiling.

"Uh...Hi..." I said as I faked an awkward smile.

"Um...Can I have lunch with you?" She shyly asked. I wanted to say no, and just ignore her.....but no matter how bad our past was, I don't think revenge is my style.

"Sure...Tiffany, right?" I asked her.

"Sooyoung, did you already forget me?" She asked with a disappointed look on her face.

"Aniyo~ Miyoung, I just thought you might want to be called your new name..." I said truthfully. Before she could say anything, my best friend interrupted.

"You know each other?" I turned to see a curious Taeyeon.

"Yes, this is Hwang Miyoung or I guess it's Tiffany now.......The friend I talked about three years ago..." I informed Taeyeon.

"Ah~ That friend you met at the cafe?" She asked. I nodded.

"Yup, can she join us for lunch?" I asked. There was a small part of me that still disliked Tiffany, that wanted Taeyeon to say no. Of course, Taeyeon was too nice to say no to any of my 'friends'.

"Sure, why not?" She put a smile, but it didn't look very sincere.

Taeyeon's POV

Hwang Miyoung...

Sooyoung's friend that she met at the cafe. Sooyoung never really told me anything about her. She just said that Miyoung was a friend that she found interesting. Within the two months that Sooyoung talked about her friend, I couldn't actually meet her because I was busy woth Track meets. When I had free time to meet with both of them, Sooyoung told me that Miyoung moved away. After that, she never really talked about her anymore.

I was thinking all of this while we were eating on the roof. There was an awkward silence between the three of us. Sooyoung being the adorable talking machine, broke the silence.

"Um...When did you come back?" Sooyoung asked.

"I moved back here about a month ago, but I couldn't go to school yet, because I still had to register to the school..."Tiffany said. Sooyoung just nodded and started to dig into her food.

"Um...Tiffany, Youngie told me you moved away somewhere, where exactly?" I asked curiously.

Tiffany's POV

I couldn't help but notice the closeness of Sooyoung and her short friend.

"Um...Tiffany, Youngie told me that you moved away somewhere, where exactly?" She asked curiously. While she asked me a question, I saw Sooyoung snooping in her lunchbox and stole of her friend's food. Taeyeon ignored her snooping and even took food from Sooyoung.

"Um...Tiffany, are you still with us?" Taeyeon asked while she waved her hand in front of my face. I shook my head and looked at her. I didn't notice but I was staring.

"Um, yeah...sorry...I moved to America..." I replied.

"Ah~ Youngie told me that it's why she didn't talk to you anymore..." Taeyeon said. I looked at Sooyoung, who seemed like she was ignoring our conversation. I wonder what Sooyoung said about me, Taeyeon seemed to not know of our past. I felt guilty...I knew the real reason...

"Um...Yeah..." I said awkwardly.

"The past is the past...let's just ignore it...We're in the present now." Sooyoung said as she ate her food. What she said kind of disappointed me... Am I just part of her past? Did she already move on? But doesn't that mean she already forgave me? The last thought made me smile a bit.

Also, what amazed me the most was she didn't change much. Her appetite seemed to be the same. I giggled, which made Sooyoung and Taeyeon look at me.

"What's so funny?" Taeyeon asked as she raised an eyebrow.

"Sorry, but Sooyoung's appetite seems to never change..." I said smiling, while looking at Sooyoung.

"Ah~ Yeah, she has a pretty big appetite..." Taeyeon said smiling slightly at Sooyoung.

"Both of you, stop smiling and staring at me...it's creepy." Sooyoung said as she glared at me and Taeyeon.

Taeyeon's POV

She glared at us playfully. I noticed that Sooyoung was starting to get comfortable, but I could still sense a bit of awkwardness in her.

Both of us blushed and looked down. After another awkward silence, the school bell rang.

"Time to go back~" I said.

"Awww~ I'm still not finished~" Sooyoung whined cutely. I pinched her cheeks.

"Just finish it later~" I copied her whining tone. She pouted and started to clean up. I chuckled and  turned to Tiffany, who was staring at Sooyoung. I slightly frowned. I wonder if Tiffany liked Sooyoung back then...

I replaced my frown with a smile when Sooyoung looked at me. "Let's go~" I said looking at Tiffany. She nodded and smiled.

"Let's hurry!" Sooyoung grabbed me and Tiffany's wrists, and she started running.

While we were running, I saw Tiffany blushing as she looked at Sooyoung's hand that was holding her wrist.

It's definitely positive to me that she either still likes Sooyoung or she started to like Sooyoung now. I can't blame her though...

Sooyoung stopped which made both of us bump into her.

"Ow! You should have said that you were stopping!" I complained as I knocked her on the head.

"Sorry..." Tiffany said.

"It's fine...it's my fault anyways..." After she said that to Tiffany, she turned to me and stuck out her tongue. I sighed and playfully shoved her into the classroom.

When we entered, the students looked at Sooyoung and smiled. Sooyoung just waved and said her hello. They were probably thinking, now that Jessica's gone, they can have a chance with Sooyoung. Me and Tiffany were behind her waiting for her to move.

"Youngie! Get to your seat already!" I complained. She just smirked and walked as slow as she could. I groaned and shoved her a little so I could get to my seat. You're probably thinking, 'what if her fangirls get mad?' They won't....they all know that I'm her best friend, so if they anything to me...Sooyoung won't be happy~

As I sat in my seat, I saw IU smiling at me. "Hi~" I said.

"Hey~" She said.

"Why are you so happy? You saw Jiyeon at lunch break, didn't you~" I teased. At the mention of her girlfriend her smile grew wider. IU and Jiyeon were such a cute couple.

"She made me lunch~" She said happily. I chuckled.

Before I could say anything back, the teacher came and told us to quiet down. When I looked back at Sooyoung, I saw her staring at Tiffany's direction with an expressionless face. I inwardly groaned. Even though I was given a second chance, I had a feeling being with Sooyoung wasn't going to be easy.

Sooyoung's POV

When Taeyeon shoved me, I chuckled a little because of how impatient she is. I saw her go to her seat and talk to IU. I know Taeyeon is over her, and I also know that IU's with Jiyeon (Who I always call the Adorable Dino), but I couldn't help but feel jealous again. I sat in my seat and felt someone looking at me. I turned to see Tiffany looking at me, I slightly smiled at her which made her give me a shy smile in return. She looked like she was about to say something, but she turned around when the teacher came into the classroom.

I guess we're friends now...right? I mean, I could still feel myself become awkward, but I can get used to the thought of just being friends with her.

I paid attention to what the teacher was teaching for the rest of the time.

After School

"Youngie~ Let's go~" Taeyeon said in a dorky voice. I chuckled and nodded. After I packed my stuff, I noticed Tiffany. Should I ask her to walk with us? It's worth a try~

"Hey Tiffany, want to walk with us?" I asked with a smile.

Tiffany's POV

"If you go the same direction, then sure..." I replied. I knew that our houses wasn't in the same direction, but it would be weird if I tell her I knew where she lived.

When we got to the school gate they started to head to the opposite direction of my home.

"Oh, my house is that way...I guess, I'll just see you both tomorrow..." I said as I eye-smiled at them. I waved good-bye as we separated. They waved and said their good-byes.

When I got home, I collapsed on my bed. I didn't know that seeing Sooyoung would take all of my energy away. She was just so much like she was three years ago.

Taeyeon...Taeyeon...Taeyeon...Mhmmm... I've heard it before...

Ah! Kim Taeyeon, she was a friend that Sooyoung talked about a lot. I'm disappointed that Sooyoung didn't tell her best friend about us.

I frowned, Sooyoung and Taeyeon seemed way too close for my liking. At school, when Taeyeon pinched Sooyoung's cheeks, I was burning with jealousy... When Taeyeon was talking to a friend, it might just be me, but I feel like I saw a bit of jealousy in Sooyoung's face for a second. I sighed.

"I didn't thinking getting Sooyoung back would be easy..." I stared at the ceiling and felt myself drifting to sleep.

Sooyoung's POV

"Are you spending the night or are you going home?" I asked Taeyeon.

"I gotta go home~" Taeyeon said cutely.

"Alright~...but..." I wanted to ask something REALLY important. I couldn't control myself from being serious.

"But what?" She asked with a raises eyebrow.

"Can you stay and cook dinner for me?" I tried to asked as cutely as I could. I was too lazy to cook for myself, and I didn't want to go to a restaurant or order from a restaurant, but I definitely CANNOT starve myself.

She laughed her lovable ajhumma laugh. "Sure~ You sounded serious for a few seconds...I thought it was something important..."

"Eating is imporatant!!!" I whined.

"Yeah, yeah...Let's just go inside, you shikshin~" I followed her into my house.

After she put her stuff gently on the couch, she went directly to my kitchen. I just dropped my stuff on the floor after I closed the door. I went to the kitchen to see her already looking into my fridge.

"Youngie..." She said while she looked for ingredients.

"Mhmm?" I replied.

"How close were you and Tiffany?" She asked as she took out the ingredients she needed.

"Mmhm....Very close, I guess..." Unlike what I intended to do, the answer came out a bit awkward.  She turned to look at me.

"Very close? How come you guys seem so awkward?" She noticed my awkward reply.

"Well, I haven't seen or talked to each other in three years... We can't just act like we're close..." I reasoned. She rolled her eyes at me.

"Youngie, you always act close to everybody... You even act close to strangers..." She retorted. She seems to have figured out that something happened between us.

"Well, it's a different story...Um..so what'cha making?" I asked her trying to change the subject. She observed me for a second and sighed.

"Kimchi fried rice~" She said. I knew she was really curious, but thankfully she didn't seem to want to push me into telling her.

I was about to leave to go to the living room, but she called out.

"Sooyoung..." She said softly. I turned to her.

"Yeah?"

"Just don't forget to tell me, okay?" She said with a small smile.

"Don't worry, I'll tell you later when I'm ready to..." I said as I smiled and left the kitchen.
