Onew looked at Taemin like he lost his mind. The maknae just told him that he's planning on breaking up with Luna. He's glad Minho or Key is not here or Taemin would really get it from those two. 

"Hyung..."

"I heard you," he told Taemin. "But why?"

"Something happened." Taemin paused, thinking of the next words to say.

"If you're planning on telling me anything at all you better be honest or this talk would be useless. He saw the look of defeat on Taemin's face. "I can't help you if you don't tell me every thing."

Taemin compose himself and face Onew. They were the only ones in the apartment, the other guys were out doing something else or they went home. "I can't do this to her hyung. It'd break her heart." He plans on breaking it all with Luna. She never returned his calls and maybe she's also thinking of breaking up with him too. "Na Eun might be bluffing but I don't want to take any chances." Na Eun told him that she'd reveal every thing to the public. How she knew about the marriage he really had no idea. They only went out twice and that was not even a date, he wanted to be a nice sunbae. He never knew she'd take it differently. 

"Even if she reveal it to the public, who would believe her?" Onew said.

"Hyung, you do know how some people are. The knetz would love this kind of story, they would not care if it's true or not. All they want is something to talk about." And with all the controversy going on with f(x), about disbanding and relationships this would be a big blow. "Luna might do the same. She had not returned any of my calls."

Onew sighed. This is really a big problem. The damage that this news could do. 

"We need to tell the managers," Onew said.

Taemin grabbed his arm. "We can't do that hyung!"

"Taemin, we can't solve it like this. She'd only make things worse next time." Taemin made the Onew's words sink in first and let go of his arm just then the doorbell rang. Onew stood up, they were inside Taemin's room.

"If it's the manager ..." 

"Hyung, not until I talk to Sunyoung," Taemin said.

Taemin stayed inside his room. But all of a sudden someone came in, ran to him and hugged him.

"Sunyoung, what are you doing here?" 

"I'll leave you two for a while here," Onew said and Taemin nodded his thanks to him. Luna still did not let go, she burried herself further into Taemin's arms. They stayed like that for a few minutes before Luna finally released him.

"Look at you," Taemin said and grabbed some tissue for her. "You're all ugly now." She chuckled a little and wiped her face clean. Taemin wiped a tear again. "You're so happy to see me that you're crying, right?" This time Luna really laughed. He led her to the bed and they sat together, Luna leaned on his shoulder and he brought his hand around her small frame. "I'm sure you have a lot of questions right now."

"Aniyo, I came here to see you." Luna said. 

Taemin could almost hear the words unspoken. She came to see him for the last time.

"Of course," he said. 

"Sorry for not answering your calls or messages," she said but she never explained. "I want to tell you that no matter what, I will be here." He was silent not really understanding what she means. "I won't ever let you go."

Then he realized what she's saying. She chose to stay.

She still believes in him.

"You did say, everything is going to be okay as long as I'm with you." 

She would still choose him. His eyes glittered with tears of joy.

"Sunyoung..." he said her name and she looked up at him. "I think it would be better to not see each other for now."

Her face fell. He ignored the pain he sees in her eyes. "We can't continue this, it would hurt not only us but our members as well." He knew he'd get her if he would involve their respective groups.

She grabbed his hands like he's holding her life in them. "You can't -" but he cuts her off.

"It's not just about you, it's not just about me. We are in a group."

"Don't you think I know that?" She said with a bit of anger in her eyes. "I came here after I talk to my members. I also talked to our manager."

He sees the determined look on her face and can't help but be proud of her. She's so trusting and full of hope for life that it hurts him to see her cry if everything fails her. He struggles to agree with her but he made up his mind. He won't risk her career over this. She has so much more to offer and a scandal like this might just break everything she has worked hard for.

"I can't do this." He told her firmly and looked away after seeing her eyes full of tears again. "Think of what will happen to our groups."

"I did!" She shouted, so unlikely. Taemin stood up just to get away from her grasp. He can't look at her and hold her while breaking her heart. "I thought a lot about it. Do you think I'd just do anything wreckless to ruin our group?"

"That is not what I meant," Taemin said.

"That is what you're making me feel!" 

"You don't even know every thing!" He also shouted at her. He can't back down, he's going to make her see. "You don't know how the fans would react, you don't know what other secrets she knows. You don't know how far she'll go just to ruin us."

Luna's angry eyes met his when he turned to look at her. "And yet I choose to trust you."

Taemin swallowed the lump in his throat and stood his ground. "This is not about trust. This is about our life, not just you and I, but our groups. You can't just let this bomb drop and expect that both our groups would still stand at the top."

"Why are you already deciding our fate without even fighting for us?"

"You don't understand Sunyoung -"

She grabbed his arm again forcing him to face her. "Then make me, make me understand."

He thought he was strong but this girl is much more stronger than him. She has so much more to give but he already gave up on them not because he does not feel the same love for her but because he only wants to protect her. He needs to think of their future as well.

"It's not going to be forever Sunyoung, just for a while." He tried to explain but she turned away from him. "Don't be like this. I only want what's best for us."

"You're giving up." He wished he could not hear the pain in her voice. 

He moved towards her but she backed away from him. "I'm not saying that we break up just..."

"Just pretend that our relationship is not real?" 

"Sunyoung, you're making this more difficult."

"And you're acting as if you don't care."

"That's not true! You think I want this to happen?"

"What do you think you're doing right now? You're telling me to let go, you're making her win in this. Do you think that if we break up right now or pretend to break up she would not threaten us again? Or not just Na Eun, you think no one would do this again in the future? Taemin even if everyone is against us I won't make them decide for us. I'm not going to break up or pretend to break up because someone decided to ruin us because that would not stop them from doing it again."

He bravely grabbed her shoulders wanting her to see reason. His reasons. 

"Do not fight me in this. I've made up my mind." Another tear fell but her eyes remained determined. 

"I'm not fighting against you, I want to fight with you, together."

"Sunyoung, we're young. A lot coud still happen. This is just another test, we'll make this through but for now let's not see each other. It's only for a while."

The tears stopped, replaced with anger. She gently removed his hand from her shoulders. "Na Eun said, you don't really like me. She said you told her everything. About the marriage and why we had to get married. She said you don't really love me because you want to date her instead but you can't do anything because we are married." She meets his eyes still with the hope that he'd change his mind. "She told me a lot things, I didn't care if they were true or not. All I thought about was you. Yes, you're right. We are young, and we have our whole life ahead of us. But what we have right now is also important. If you give up this easily right now, then we might not have a chance at all."

"You know that I love you -"

"Well you have a funny way of showing it."

He wanted to tell her more but if this would make her give up then he'd let her be angry. He made a lot of mistakes already in this relationship and the one thing that he would not do is ruin her career. She's strong and maybe in time she'd understand that wha he's doing is is all for keeping her safe.

Luna turned to leave, she kept her head down and waited for him to say something. Taemin held his breath as he watch her hold the knob but not turning it. She kept her back to him. He knows that what he's doing is cruel.

He knew she wanted to say something again but stopped herself, she turned the knob and opened the door. Taemin sat on the bed again until he heard the door shut.

He counted to 20, and his heart is still breaking. He took deep breaths to stop himself from crying but the tears still fell.

"You did say, everything is going to be okay as long as I'm with you." 

What happened to staying happy and together no matter what?

"I want to fight with you, together."

Was she always so bold and strong? Where could she get all the courage to say all those things?

"All I thought about was you."

Can he really make it without her? Would it still be the same after this? What if she would not wait for him? Would he be another Jongin in her life? Another love lost?

Suddenly Taemin stood up and ran out of the apartment he did not even bother wearing his shoes. He panicked when she's no longer in the hallway. He ran out of the building and found her outside.

He hugged her from behind and thanked the heavens that she still has not left.

"I know I'm stupid I don't deserve you but I love you and I'm sorry." He said all in one breath. Luna stilled in his arms and pulled out from his embrace after a while. "Sunyoung, I can't protect you all the time and if we do this I can't promise you that you won't be hurt." She smiled and cupped his face with both hands. "If all is revealed, it's not going to be easy."

"You really are stupid," she replied placing her hands around his neck. "I know it won't be easy." She pulled him closer and his gaze automatically drops on her slightly parted lips. "But I'd like to make it through with you." One hand rested on her back, the other remained on her small waist. He lowers his head and he heard her breath hitched as his lips gently touched hers. They shared innocent, quick, sweet kisses but this time he wanted to make her feel his very soul, to make her part of him. He took the chance and pressed her much closer to his body, He tested her lips with his tongue and thriumphed when opened for him. He wanted this to last forever. They parted and she smiled at him, he rested his forehead on hers.

"Oppa, what are you doing?"

Taemin froze as his now face to face with Na Eun.
