Afternoon Glow

Unlucky

Home. What makes a home? Is it a physical space? Or a comfortable place? Can it be the people that you surround yourself with? Or can you find a home within another person?

Seunghyun was sure that his home would be wherever Jiyong was, be it out here on the city street or tucked away inside a manmade house somewhere. Anywhere this shivering guy would be, Seunghyun would follow him, and sure it might sound stupid even a little crazy but in those last few moments Jiyong had confirmed everything – confessed everything. And Seunghyun couldn’t feel more liberated by his words.

Separating himself from Jiyong for only a brief second Seunghyun gently swept Jiyong’s hair from his eyes, teary tired eyes looked upwards and searched for Seunghyun’s.

“Are you going to invite me in or are we going to have to stand out here all day?” Seunghyun smirked and Jiyong smiled accompanied by a short sigh. “Come on” Seunghyun pulled away from their embrace and offered one folded arm in Jiyong’s direction. Jiyong eagerly slid his arm in between Seunghyun’s and the pair walked arm in arm back into Jiyong’s apartment building.

Mama Choi was a busy lady, she didn’t have much time on her schedule and so she was beyond annoyed when her hapless assistant somehow managed to mess up emailing over an entire delivery order. The order was supposed to be here today and it didn’t show up

“Dami-ah please for goodness sake, what is wrong with you?” Mrs Choi was stood behind her desk, she was about to sit down when said assistant rushed in with the bad news. “Is everything O.K at home?”

“Mrs. Choi I am so sorry!” Dami the office assistant deeply bowed just in front of Mrs. Choi’s desk. “I will sort everything”

“It was just a simple order, Dami this isn’t at all good for our business you understand this right?” Mrs. Choi walked around the desk and kindly held the girl’s hands “Dami-ah, how long have I known you?”

“Years” Dami slowly stood back up “Ever since my interview when I was eighteen”

“Well then you know how fond of you I am, I even helped fund your trip to Australia so please, I am begging you, tell me what’s the matter?” Now don’t misunderstand, Mrs. Choi was a compassionate lady, she loved the people who worked for her, but ever since she inherited her Husband’s delivery business Mrs. Choi had little time for mistakes and her assistant Dami had just created a new one.

“I don’t wish to burden you” Dami bowed again whilst slipping her hands from Mrs. Choi’s “I will fix the order and reschedule the delivery dates”

“Dami” Mrs. Choi raised her hands to her hips “If you leave this room without telling me what is the matter then I will have to let you go” The assistant froze in her tracks, she’d literally just turned around to leave and now she knew that she couldn’t.

“Mrs. Choi please” Dami spun back around and clasped her hands together as if she was begging. “I can’t lose this job, my Son, I can’t” The poor girl broke down and Mrs. Choi shook her head as she walked over to the girl and embraced her. Of course Mrs. Choi knew all about her assistant’s personal life, how the poor woman lost her husband and at the time Mrs. Choi was about to fire her, although after she found out why the girl was so distraught Mrs. Choi could wholeheartedly sympathise.

“Then you have to tell me what’s wrong dear” Mrs. Choi persisted despite the girl’s tears and gently patted the back of Dami’s shaking head.

“I’m just struggling that’s all” The assistant spoke between shaky breaths, the girl quickly recovered from her outburst of tears and took a step backwards out of Mrs. Choi’s embrace. “What with my Son starting school again, a seemingly endless amount of bills to pay, working every hour under the sun – I appreciate my job but it’s just” Dami sighed and looked down to the floor.

“Difficult” Mrs. Choi sighed too “When my Husband passed” Dami’s head suddenly shot up at this, Mrs. Choi had never, ever, spoken about her Husband’s passing before even if everyone else already knew about it. To hear the words spoken by Mrs. Choi, it was certainly shocking to her assistant. “I was left with two big kids and I can tell you, you’re quite lucky to have just the one” She airily laughed “Let me tell you something Dami-ah, take a week off, relax yourself and take the time to be a part of your Son’s life. When you come back we’ll talk about your pay and your role here, you can receive holiday pay whilst you are away” Before Dami could verbalise a response she jumped forward and tightly wrapped her arms around her Boss.

“Thank you, thank you so much!” The assistant stammered.

“I know how important it is to be a part of your Son’s life, so go, quickly before I change my mind” Mrs. Choi waved the girl out of the room and before she knew it Dami was gone. Mrs. Choi chuckled to herself and walked around the desk, took her seat then stared at the photo frame which took pride of place on the oak wooden top. She smiled at the picture of her two beautiful children in the arms of her wonderful husband, she missed him so much.

Without much thought Mrs. Choi tapped away at her desktop computer, she miraculously sorted out Dami’s blunder in just two emails and sighed utterly relieved by the outcome. Working here was difficult, the bottom line was Mrs. Choi only knew the bits about her Husband’s company which he had told her about in the most minimal detail possible, sometimes she had absolutely no idea what she was doing but kept working regardless. Mrs. Choi knew how important it was for her Husband to earn enough money so that he could provide the best for their children and she would do anything to keep his dream alive.

Speaking of children, Mrs. Choi’s eyes ponderously glanced over to the photo frame and stopped at the left hand side of the photo – where her own Son was. She smiled then shook her head, trying to piece together all of Seunghyun’s maniac stories. It was funny just how alike the boy and his Father were and it was scary, but scary in a disbelieving kind of way which made Mrs. Choi laugh. She wondered about how Seunghyun was, ever since she had picked him up outside of Jiyong’s Parent’s Café Seunghyun had acted a little withdrawn again and she was furious about how this boy’s parents had treated her Son as if he was head case. Gradually the monotonous day of work started to grate on Mrs. Choi and before she knew it she was angrily punching at the computer’s keyboard with such a vengeance that when she missed a key, and effectively cracked her finger against the desk, she let out a loud shriek of disapproval.

How could parents ever treat their own flesh and blood as if they were some sort of contagious disease? Mrs. Choi could never imagine treating anyone that way, let alone her Son. Sure she was completely shocked when Seunghyun had told her about his feelings for Jiyong but the rest was history when she saw that love in his eyes, the way his eyes glimmered with tears when he spoke about love. She’d never seen her Son like that, so grown up and alive. For a long time Mrs. Choi worried that Seunghyun would never overcome his Father’s passing, she did everything she could to try and understand her Son’s grief ranging from meeting up with a doctor to threatening him and still nothing had worked. Nothing until he had returned from the Supermarket that day. Mrs. Choi was grateful, especially to Jiyong, for bringing her Son back to life.

That’s when Mama Choi decided to take the situation into her own hands. No one would ever treat her Son like that ever again and she wasn’t just going to sit around waiting for the next opportunity. Mrs. Choi locked her computer and grabbed her handbag from the back of her desk chair, she’d had enough of doing nothing. Storming out of her office, past her workers, and leaving the manager in charge, Mrs. Choi headed to the car park knowing exactly where she was going. Of course she had the address imprinted in her rather impressive memory bank.

The lift dinged and Jiyong’s energy was moderately returning to him though he still kept a tight hold on Seunghyun’s arm. The latter was beaming, like some sort of fool, and he quite happily followed Jiyong out of the lift and into his apartment. Briefly Seunghyun did wonder about what was going to happen, what could they possibly do now? Although he didn’t get a chance to answer this because as soon as Jiyong opened the apartment door, he led Seunghyun right across the living room (where Seunghyun received a wink and a thumbs up from Daesung) and into his bedroom. Still Jiyong said nothing as he closed the bedroom door behind Seunghyun and led them over to his bed. Once they were both sat side by side Jiyong finally spoke and Seunghyun wondered if he could seriously handle being this close to Jiyong, he felt as if he was going to explode.

“Will you stay here for a while?” Jiyong’s silky voice trembled from beside Seunghyun.

“I’ll stay as long as you want me to” Seunghyun instantly replied glancing sideways and thinly smiling at the beautiful man next to him.

“Great” Jiyong sighed, a look of relief spreading across his face. “Do you mind if I change into something a little more comfortable?” He shifted about on the bed as if he was nervous about something. Seunghyun could only nod, trying to keep his eyes at their normal width.

“Sure” He added. A calming silence ensued as Seunghyun watched Jiyong spring up from the bed and walk around to his drawers. Though once Jiyong had fished some clothes out Seunghyun snapped his head back around, was Jiyong really going to get changed in front of him? Seunghyun blushed at the thought then he wondered why he blushed.

“Hyunnie” Jiyong softly sang across the room and Seunghyun’s heart did truly explode, his blush deepened at the nickname.

“Yes Yongie?” Seunghyun hid his sweating palms under his legs and stared straight ahead at the door. It felt so incredible to call Jiyong that.

“I’ve got some clothes that you can change into if you want” Jiyong’s hand suddenly swished into Seunghyun’s view nearly giving the poor guy a heart attack. “Hello~” Jiyong sang again.

“What?! Sorry- I- For me?” Seunghyun gasped snapping out of his stare and swiftly glancing at Jiyong, the guy was stood beside Seunghyun with some folded clothes outstretched in his offering hands. “I thought that I had to borrow Bae’s clothes?” He frowned as he gently accepted the clothes.

“Well…” Jiyong’s face suddenly lit up like a Christmas tree “After the last time you stayed, I, I brought some clothes, you know, just in case, maybe you came back” He rambled on and adorably tripped over his words. Seunghyun couldn’t help but giggle at this

“You really did that for me?” He grinned as he unfolded the clothes, of course the top was white and the baggy pants were camouflage pink.

“Yeah” Jiyong enthusiastically nodded.

“You really like the fact that I like pink don’t you?” Seunghyun chuckled studying a little pair of fluffy pink and white striped socks which Jiyong had just nervously shoved into his hands.

“I can always take them back… I mean if you don’t like them”

“Don’t be silly” Seunghyun placed the clothes beside him on the bed and stood up “Of course I love them, you could give me a bin bag and I’d still wear it” Jiyong laughed at this and Seunghyun used the opportunity to pinch one of Jiyong’s squishy cheeks. “Thank you” He smirked.

“No problem” Jiyong stammered out with a smile “I’ll just, erm… Get changed, in the bathroom, you stay here and I’ll knock, yeah?” His expression was just too lovable to resist so Seunghyun slid his hands around Jiyong’s sides and lightly kissed him.

“I love you” The words fell from Seunghyun’s mouth with a long breath, he couldn’t stop himself from saying it and he wanted to say again and again and again. A little pang of worry caused Seunghyun’s stomach to ache as Jiyong hesitantly took a step backwards and glanced upwards at him.

“I love you too” The ache melted within a second of hearing Jiyong speak and Seunghyun glowed at the words. He reached out and pulled Jiyong into the tightest hug that Seunghyun had ever given another human being, burying his head in between Jiyong’s neck and shoulder to savour every little thing that he loved about this guy. At first Jiyong didn’t respond, his body felt a little stiff to Seunghyun’s touch, though after a few minutes more a hand gingerly the bumps of Seunghyun’s spine whilst the other tenderly brushed through the layers of Seunghyun’s hair. They stayed like this for a while, Seunghyun really didn’t want to let Jiyong go and the delicate of Jiyong’s hand let the former know that he felt exactly the same way.

The bulky blue family car halted right outside the Café, Mrs. Choi parked right outside the front door in a little bay just to the side of the road. Climbing out of the car she noticed that the café was open yet it was empty, to be honest she wasn’t surprised as the place looked as if it could fall apart at any minute. Mrs. Choi took it all in her stride though and with a polite smile she entered the premises.

“Mr and Mrs. Kwon?” She called across the café, there was no reply and it looked as if no one was home. “Mr and Mrs. Kwon?!” Walking up to the counter Mrs. Choi continued to repeat herself, even resorting to banging on the counter and raising her voice, this lady was not in the mood to be messed around with. After what felt like the millionth shout Mrs. Choi heard a rustle of papers and what sounded like pots, not a second too soon a short comely lady appeared wearing what looked like a pair of brown curtains. Mrs. Choi couldn’t help but shake her head at the sight

“Excuse me you’re Mrs. Kwon aren’t you?” She asked peeking over the counter as the little lady huffed her way over.

“Yes I am” Mrs. Kwon ruffled her curly brown hair up “Aren’t you Seunghyun’s Mother?”

“That would be me” Mrs. Choi nodded “Do you have a moment to talk?”

“Well my Husband isn’t home…” Mrs. Kwon wiped the sweat from her brow and shifted on her toes, looking a little uncomfortable by the proposition.

“Great, I mean, let’s have a Mother to Mother chat” Mrs. Choi took a step back from the counter “And I would love to have a coffee, if that’s O.K?”

“Sure” Mrs. Kwon stammered a little “I’ll just- I’ll be right back, take a seat…” The little lady waddled off into the back and Mrs. Choi smirked at the sight. She shrugged and turned to look back into the rest of the shop

“This place could really do with a new of paint” Mrs. Choi scanned the café, scanned the way the ceiling was cracked, the way the metal interior was eroding. She wondered why Jiyong’s parents were clinging on to such an old rusty dump. Never mind, Mrs. Choi didn’t want to sympathise with these people. She sat down on a little two seated table besides the window, thinking that if she was nearest the door then she could have a quick escape route.

Minutes rolled by and just as Mrs. Choi went to touch the table, then rapidly decided against it, a little huff and puff signalised the arrival of Jiyong’s Mother. Really she was a very petite, cutesy kind of, lady someone who looked as if she belonged in the past or something. In reality Mrs. Kwon was probably the polar opposite to Mrs. Choi who liked to think that she was quite modern and forward thinking. The thought brought a little smile to her face, her Son sure did pick them…

“Sorry for taking so long” Mrs. Kwon sounded a little out of breath “I decided to make some tea as well and as you know the best tea-”

“Is the longest brewed tea” Mrs. Choi finished off the saying with a lighter smile. “Thank you Mrs. Kwon”

“Ah enough of that, you can call me Yunji” Mrs. Kwon bowed her head as she placed the tea tray onto the table.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you properly Yunji, my name’s Hyuna” Mrs. Choi bowed back.

“The pleasure’s all mine” Mrs. Kwon, Yunji, smiled then sat in the seat opposite Mrs. Choi. “So what can I do you for? How is Seunghyun?” Mrs. Choi tried to keep calm at the apparently innocent question, now wasn’t the time to get angry.

“Well after our last meeting I just wanted to introduce myself to you properly” Mrs. Choi calmly stated whilst accepting the mug of coffee from Mrs. Kwon. “And I also wanted to talk to you about what happened” She studied Jiyong’s Mother as the woman poured herself a small cup of tea then added an unreasonable amount of extras.

“Ah I see” Mrs. Kwon’s face didn’t change and she merely continued to make her tea.

“At what age did you find that your Son is gay?” Mrs. Choi gracefully brought her cup to lips and took a small sip, ah it was delicious. Then she noticed a quick change in Mrs. Kwon’s face, the woman’s eyes widened and she looked clearly embarrassed.

“He’s not” Mrs. Kwon simply replied swiftly changing her face to a more netural expression.

“What do you mean he’s not? Of course he is?” Mrs. Choi set the cup back down on the saucer and pretended to play dumb.

“No Son of mine is, is like that” Mrs. Kwon mumbled to herself as she drank her tea.

“So you’re saying that my Son is a liar?” Mrs. Choi raised an eyebrow at Mrs. Kwon who tried to gulp down more tea. “So you’re saying that my Son isn’t in a relationship with your Son?”

“Exactly” Mrs. Kwon nodded and placed her cup back down on the table. “Perhaps your Son is a little sick, a little confused, maybe?” Mrs. Choi’s mouth fell open in disbelief

“You what?” She gasped.

“I said that maybe your Son is-”

“I heard what you damn well said!” Mrs. Choi nearly slammed her hand down on the table but restrained herself. “And there is absolutely nothing wrong with my Son or your Son!” She couldn’t believe that someone like this could exist. Mrs. Kwon looked rather shaken by the sudden boom to Mrs. Choi’s voice and she tried to gulp down more tea. “Yunji, I apologise for raising my voice” Mrs. Choi sighed and took another sip of coffee to try and soothe herself.

“It’s fine” Mrs. Kwon shakily waved the apology away. “It’s hard to think that your Son might be ill, no one wants to consider the facts but the truth of the matter is, Jiyong knows that his lifestyle is unacceptable and your Son should know that too” To Mrs. Choi it sounded as if Jiyong’s Mother was just reeling off some mindless memorised speech, there was no emotion to the words, no love when speaking her Son’s name. Mrs. Choi frowned

“I might be mistaken but feel free to educate me” She started by clearing “I can understand how you feel and how someone might interpret love in general as a sickness, however, surely we should want what is best for our children, why would you force your Son into a life of lies? There are already enough wars in the universe and to start yet another in your Son’s mind, isn’t that a bit much?” Mrs. Kwon didn’t answer, all she could do was stare at Mrs. Choi as if she was an alien or something, so the latter continued. “I know that to you and me two men loving each other might feel a little out of the ordinary but that’s exactly why we should cherish it, finding a true love is out of the ordinary, in fact it’s extraordinary. For them to find such a beautiful thing at their age is something that we should surely celebrate rather than deny? I know that their lives might be more difficult, they might run into trouble, but at least they could be together. And if you’re worried about what people will think, well, that all rests up to you. If you condone such ignorant behaviour then don’t be surprised if people will treat your Son in the same way” Mrs. Choi paused, letting the awkward silence hang for a moment as she took another swig of her coffee. She watched for Mrs. Kwon’s reaction though there wasn’t one.

“Yunji, if it makes your Son happy, if it gives your Son’s life some purpose or meaning, then please explain to me how it is wrong?” Mrs. Kwon seemed to hesitate at the question as if she was utterly stumped for an answer. Again Mrs. Choi continued “Doesn’t it hurt to push your Son so harshly away?” That was it, Mrs. Kwon’s lower lip trembled and Mrs. Choi tried to not look too satisfied by the response.

“Hyuna, you have to understand that Jiyong is our only Son” Mrs. Kwon slowly started, her voice turning weak and obviously conflicted.

“So Seunghyun’s mine” Mrs. Choi shrugged

“But aren’t you concerned that you will never have grandchildren? That you won’t have a complete family” Mrs. Kwon stumbled over her words again.

“No I’m not concerned because my family doesn’t need children to be complete, that’s what makes us a family” Another shrug, another sip of coffee. “We have each other and that’s the most important thing”

“Hm…” Mrs. Kwon looked thoughtful for a moment.

“Look Yunji, I don’t know you that well at all, to be frank I shouldn’t need to tell you that the love you have for your Son should be unconditional. And I most certainly don’t want to intrude on your family’s business but your Son makes mine unbelievably happy. After I lost my Husband I never thought that we could be a proper family unit ever again, but somehow we are stronger. Take it from me, someone who almost lost her Son, seeing your child devoid of all emotion and shutting down day after day is something of which you should never have to witness as a Mother. Though it happens and for you to do such a thing so willingly just because you don’t necessarily agree with your Son and his life is the most irresponsible thing that I have ever heard of. Thank you for the coffee but I must leave now” Mrs. Choi curtly bowed before standing up and tucking her chair in. “Oh and I will gladly welcome your beautiful Son into my home and into my family so no matter what path you choose you should know that your Son will always have a family, even if that family doesn’t include you. Excuse me Yunji” She bowed again then left, with the image of Mrs. Kwon’s wide open mouth replaying over and over again in her slightly furious but satisfied mind.

A stupidly smug reflection peered back at Seunghyun through Jiyong’s life-sized mirror, the long thing hung on the wall opposite Jiyong’s bed and he just simply couldn’t resist having a peek at it. He waved to himself as he admired the change of clothes provided by Jiyong then he distractedly glanced around the room, taking a proper good look at Jiyong’s bedroom.

The last time that Seunghyun had been in here he’d been way too hung over to remember what Jiyong’s bedroom actually looked like and so he soaked up all the tiny details like a sponge. Firstly, he started to like how small the room was, sure it was little cramped, but the lack of space made it feel homely. Next to the wall length mirror sat a desk, Seunghyun walked around it and briefly studied it, there was a sky blue notebook sat on the top with a pen hanging out of it. Too tempted to read it Seunghyun lifted about half of the pad up and flicked through it, he grinned, each page was covered with a poem or a scrap of a story. He didn’t read anything though and quickly shut the book back up. Something just above the desk caught his eye, it was a white pin board and it was covered in photos and words.

Pinned in the middle of the board was a picture of Seunghyun, he smiled, that photo and a few surrounding it were from their perfect day out. The other photos were curiously old pictures, mostly of Jiyong and a couple of other people, Seunghyun assumed that maybe they were past acquaintances or something. He shrugged and smiled. All of the words that were pinned to the board were sort of cheesy, words like “Dream”, “Live”, “Hope” and “Love” then there were words like “Runaway”, “Courage”, “Song” and “Belief”, perhaps this was supposed to be an inspiration board or something? Seunghyun had no idea. It made a nice looking collage though. Then next to desk was a corner of open space, with a couple of C.D racks free standing from the floor, Seunghyun bent down and shook his head. Jiyong had poor music taste, most of his collection consisted of dance and club compilations with the odd American Pop artist thrown in. Seunghyun made a note to himself to introduce Jiyong to some better music.

Britney Spears might just be a deal breaker, he laughed at the thought then stood back up to resume his study of Jiyong’s bedroom, next to the C.D collection was a chest of drawers and a long row of plush teddies sat on the top of the drawer. Seunghyun picked up a big Yoshi from in the middle of the collection and decided that he liked it so it was now his. With the help of the apple coloured dinosaur Seunghyun continued his search, next to the chest of drawers sat a little mysterious black box which was locked (bugger!) and adjacent to that sat Jiyong’s bedside cabinet. Well that was thoroughly interesting, Seunghyun smiled and he squeezed Yoshi as he sat back down on Jiyong’s bed. Before he could wonder too much as to why Jiyong was taking so long the guy suddenly appeared as if by magic, he knocked twice before calling

“Seunghyun are you decent?”

“No!” Seunghyun called back humming a sneaky laugh into the back of Yoshi’s head. “I’m indecent!” The door swung open and Seunghyun was greeted by a rather lovely looking glare, Jiyong’s arms were folded and his previous clothes were tucked in between his arms and chest. “Hey! What if I had been telling the truth?!” Seunghyun protested unable to hide his laughter any more.

“Well…” Jiyong walked over to his chest of drawers and placed his clothes on top of it “Let’s just be glad that you’re a little liar then” He crawled onto his bed and Seunghyun turned around, swivelling to face Jiyong. “Hm made a new friend have we?” Jiyong raised a playful eyebrow with a wicked smirk and Seunghyun couldn’t help but feel smitten.

“Maybe” Seunghyun blushed a little “You took so long I felt lonely” He huffed as Jiyong pried the dinosaur from his hands and threw the poor teddy to the floor.

“Well I’m back now” Jiyong replied, his words feeling a little heavier than what they were supposed to. “So you don’t have to worry” Seunghyun shuffled back a little to lean against Jiyong’s pillows, rather unsure of what Jiyong was doing. The man in question suddenly flopped over and rested his head in the lap of Seunghyun’s outstretched legs. Once he had fully made himself at home Jiyong reached out and held Seunghyun’s nearest awkward hand, the latter had no idea what to do so he just watched Jiyong completely awestruck. “Let’s just stay like this for a while” Jiyong spoke no louder than a whisper “No outside world, no pressure, no parents, just me and you” Seunghyun only hummed in agreement whilst his free hand absent-mindedly the heart of Jiyong’s temple.

A half-sized window, just above Jiyong’s chest of drawers, allowed a small streak of afternoon light to spread across Jiyong’s darkening room. The little flickers of light deepened as time passed and Seunghyun couldn’t help but notice how beautiful the soft glow silhouetted Jiyong’s striking features. His eyes weren’t sure of where to look; from Jiyong’s resting crescent eyes to the curve of his button nose, right down to his perfect rosebud lips and shapely chin. Or perhaps Seunghyun should look at the gorgeous ellipse of Jiyong’s defined jawline which swept downwards into a mesmerising vision of skin, the breath-taking lines of Jiyong’s neck and how his collarbones slightly jutted out of his white vest. Seunghyun’s eyes travelled downwards and he smirked when he noticed that Jiyong was wearing matching blue camouflage pants. Jiyong was just too adorable for words. Seeing him like this so trusting in the fact that he could sleep in Seunghyun’s presence, that he felt safe enough to fall asleep, caused Seunghyun to feel so many different emotions. Warmth ignited Seunghyun’s chest and he felt so unbelievably happy, although this feeling was soon dampened by a strange feeling of melancholy. Seunghyun couldn’t help but wonder if Jiyong was really back, if there was no reason for him to worry, if they could overcome his obstacles, if…

A heavy head fell back against the wall signalling the fact that Seunghyun had fallen asleep.

When he awoke Seunghyun had no idea why he’d fallen asleep, he didn’t feel that tired, and then he panicked when he didn’t recognise the bedroom as his own. A flash of what had happened reminded Seunghyun of where he was and his panicking soon came to an abrupt halt when he felt someone’s grip around his chest tighten. Gazing down at the hands which were locked onto the front of his chest Seunghyun smiled, he could feel Jiyong’s cheek tightly pressed right up against his back and he confirmed the owner of the hands in a quick look over his shoulder. Somehow Seunghyun was lying down, tucked under the covers and facing the doorway. He shrugged the thought off when he heard Jiyong’s bedroom door creak open and he was surprised to find both Bae and Daesung peeking in, Seunghyun immediately closed his eyes and pretended to be asleep.

“Aww~ See I told you” Daesung whispered accompanying that with what sounded like a painful elbow to the ribs.

“O.K, O.K, I believe you but you’re a creep” Bae answered not sounding too amused by Daesung. “Let’s go before they catch us peeping”

“Do you think they just fell asleep or”

“Dae shut up, it’s none of our business!” And with that the pair shuffled off back into the apartment, quietly closing the door. Seunghyun nearly jolted from the bed when a voice behind him said

“I am so gonna kill them for that in the morning” Jiyong lightly laughed and his grip on Seunghyun relaxed a little.

“I guess we should thank them” Seunghyun turned to face Jiyong.

“And why should we do that?” Jiyong frowned a little but his tone was playful.

“Well without them I don’t think that we’d be here” Seunghyun smiled yet again and thoughtfully combed Jiyong’s hair from his face. “You’ve got some amazing people in your life who love you” He added bringing his hand from Jiyong’s hair and lowering it to his chin, pulling their faces closer together. “And without them I wouldn’t be able to do this” He affectionately grasped Jiyong’s lips with his own and lightly kissed him. Slowly Seunghyun leaned away and he caught Jiyong smiling with his eyes closed. “Don’t you think we should thank them?” He playfully remarked when Jiyong’s eyes blinked open.

“Maybe” Jiyong did that beautiful lip biting smile that Seunghyun loved so much “But there’s someone else I have to thank first” Seunghyun stiffened a little as he felt Jiyong’s whole body shift closer to him, a leg slid in between Seunghyun’s which brought their hips closer together. “Thank you Seunghyun Choi” Jiyong started delicately reaching upwards and planting a soft kiss on Seunghyun’s forehead. “Thank you” He repeated allowing his kisses to multiply and fall down to the curve of Seunghyun’s nose. “Thank you for loving me” Now Jiyong kisses were shared between both of Seunghyun’s cheeks. “Thank you for protecting me” Once he’d finished there Jiyong’s kisses fell to one of Seunghyun’s ears, the sound of Jiyong’s voice unexpectedly made Seunghyun feel weak as if he was falling but that was impossible because they were still on Jiyong’s bed. Although when Jiyong’s kisses slipped one more time Seunghyun thought he was about to die, in the most beautiful way possible.

“Jiyong” Seunghyun breathed unable to string the rest of his sentence together. He couldn’t explain this feeling, this burning sensation which prickled at the places where Jiyong had kissed him, and it worried him.

“Seunghyun?” Those beautiful golden eyes peeked up at Seunghyun from his neck and a hand hooked onto the front of Seunghyun’s t-shirt. He could feel Jiyong’s side gently pressing into him

“I, uh, you…” Nope now definitely wasn’t the right time to even try to force Seunghyun’s brain to function, he sighed and Jiyong pulled away.

“Sorry!” Jiyong sheepishly grinned as Seunghyun tried to blink himself back to life “I got a little carried away” His complexion was suddenly awash with the most gorgeous pink tones that Seunghyun had ever seen and Jiyong sat up, taking the warmth of the covers with him.

“Wait!” Seunghyun was still breathing heavily “I mean, come back, its cold” Hooray! Nearly a full sentence Seunghyun, well done! He sighed again but this time he yawned, rapidly feeling exhausted. Seunghyun opened his eyes to see Jiyong carefully reaching forward for his hair, he brushed a few bothersome strands from Seunghyun’s eyes and his smile only widened.

“I don’t know if I’ve ever told you this before” Jiyong started as he nestled back into Seunghyun’s side “But I think you’re perfect”

“Well thanks” Seunghyun just about replied, trying to fight the ultimate battle against his sleepy eyelids. “I think you’re perfect too” And that was it Seunghyun lost the fight, his head fell against the top of Jiyong’s but little did he know that Jiyong did not sleep a wink that night, the sight of the beautiful man before him was too much to believe and he worried that if he fell asleep again Seunghyun would be gone, like a dream.

I Love You, More Than I did yesterday,
I have never met someone so important and precious to me, that it hurts,
To meet you, to feel this happiness,
I must have dealt with a lot of pain.

When the days are hard, it gets sad,
The pain that causes the tears to come,
It will end someday,
The only thing that is endless is our love.

I Love You, More Than I did yesterday.

Chapter 25: I read this in one incredibly long sitting. I feel like I lived the emotions they went through and I don't have that happen very often with any writing much less fan fiction. If you changed the names I really think you could get this published as a short story. I don't know if I should cry while smiling or just hug this close to me.

Chapter 25: I finally finished reading this, and I'm so glad that I did. It addressed the difficulties of their relationship realistically and showed the strength it takes for a couple to survive it all. I also don't think I've laughed harder during the course of any one particular story!
I'm still not over Seungri's mooing,tbh.
Though I'd read LL first, and this was completely different, I was glad to see that through it all, your style for two "hero's" is consistent :)
