Prologue

The girls were called in by the president for unknown reasons. It was the first time that the girls were called in for a meeting with the president after the Japanese incident and the disastrous meeting with the YG family. Just the memory of it can send shiver to her skin. At that time, she has a lot of different feelings going on at that time. She doesn’t know where she found the strength to say those words but thankfully, she did. She was able to tell the younger girl that she forgave her for everything that was done.

Another sigh escapes from as she realized that she was the first one to arrive in the conference room. Even the president wasn’t there yet. She was a bit earlier than expected because Jiyong has taken her with him. He doesn’t want her to travel alone after everything that has happened. After the unfortunate incident in Japan, Jiyong was being overprotective that she wasn’t allowed to go anywhere without him or someone he trusted.

She heaved another sigh again and at that exact moment, she heard the door slowly opening. Her eyes were focused on those pair of familiar legs. With a smile on her face, she looked up and flashed a smile at the newly arrived girl.

It was none other than her best friend, Park Bom.

“Bommie…” She called her best friend’s name and pointed the empty space beside her. She opened her arms and welcoming the girl with a warm embrace. She whispered, “I miss you.”

“It has been awhile, Ssantoki.” Bom uttered in a soft voice filled with lingering feelings. “He has held you as prisoner for quite a long time there.”

She let out a nervous laugh.

“Nah, what made you think I was held as a prisoner? We just spent some time together just like in the past.” She clarified. “And if I’m really a prisoner, I am a willing one.”

A loud thud sound was heard as she felt Bom’s hand smacking her head. The strike on her head hurts even if she knew it wasn’t even half of her best friend’s strength.

“Who on earth would be willing to be a prisoner?” Bom exclaimed with a horrified expression on her face. “I can’t imagine myself being held captive or I’m more likely the captor, don’t you think?”

She nodded and giggled at her best friend’s randomness. It was something she missed these days. She embraced the other girl again and tried to squeeze her tightly, wishing that the tight embrace would convey her feelings.

“I miss you too.” Bom whispered as the girl understood the meaning of the embrace.

The two were in their own worlds that they didn’t notice that the door has opened. It was when the newly arrived has yelled their names to catch their attention.

“Dara-unne! Bom-unnie!” The familiar voice of their maknae yelled in her usual tone. “You two are so sneaky!”

“Sneaky?” She gasped at the accusation and frowned at the maknae who was grinning at them from the door. “What are we being sneaky for?”

“Yah! How dare you accuse such thing?” Bom exclaimed with a horrified look on her face. “Yah! Say something you little twerp!”

She saw her best friend that was about to launch a tickle attack on the maknae but both of them froze when the youngest girl suddenly cried. It was unexpected and they were never prepared for it but it came as an unexpected thing. The two of them look at each other and both have confused expression.

“Eh? Mingkki?” She asked with concern as she approached the crying girl and wrapped her arms around the figure. “Ssh… Stop crying Mingkki-yah…”

“Who made our pretty maknae cry?” Bom asked in a fierce way and making everyone in the room laughed.

“I just missed the two of my unnies. I haven’t seen you for a while since we arrived from Japan…” Minzy explained as she wiped her tears.

“Aisht, this overacting girl! We will see each other soon enough. You may have been thinking a lot just like a middle aged woman.” Bom kiddingly said.

Minzy pouted so cutely that she cannot help but pinch the youngest girl’s nose.

“Pft, you two were not taking me seriously.” Minzy exclaimed and puffed her cheeks cutely making the older girls cringe at her antics. “Didn’t you two miss the cutest maknae?”

She and Bom looked at each other bursting out in laughter. Bom was even holding her tummy while laughing and she was even hitting the arms of the other girl.

“Mingkki-ah, please… stop with the cuteness…” Bom pleaded in between her laughter.

“Too cute…” She added and making the youngest girl turned redder than usual.

They were in the middle of their usual playfulness when the door opened to reveal the leader. The once lively atmosphere has suddenly disappeared. Silence engulfed the room and the four of them settled on their seats quietly. Bom, Minzy and her stole a few glances at each other and immediately look away whenever the leader would catch them.

The relationship between the three of them was now like this ever since that meeting. It was as if there will be an awkward air that envelops the four of them. Her heart is hurting whenever they would have this silence.

Gone was the playful group that she knew way back their training days.

Gone was the spirited team that strives for their dream.

Gone was the harmonious relation between them.

Gone was the firm bond that held them together.

Almost everything was gone since their discord has begun.
