Cho Kyuhyun is back for the sequel of The Canvas and is now a certified public accountant-slash-lawyer who owns their family-owned law firm branch in Busan. At 30, he is the head executive of his office, leading along with a new name with his friend Sungmin. He is still as arrogant and stubborn, sometimes just as lazy and inconsiderate as his college self. But when his beautiful past reappeared before him, his unwavering personality starts to fall, and his heartless self is changed through courses of events where once again, he would experience falling in love with the same person.

Seo Joohyun, 29, with her shy persona, was previously the main protagonist’s wife and now officially a pediatrician in a medical hospital in Incheon. Aside from this, Seohyun also owns a pharmacy clinic given to her by her ex-husband.  She is later revealed as Yonghwa’s fiancée.  She adopted a child, calling him Sijoong. When their paths meet, she avoids any kind of interaction quickly...afraid that if she let her heart beat for him again---it would ruin her whole life. But as time passed, she realized her heart was still growing for the unbearable man.

Jung Yonghwa is a cardiologist in a public hospital in Incheon. He would be marrying Seohyun in the winter season. He worries for her often, but lets her do what she feels like. He’s more of the good boy in the story, rare exposure except being an okay boyfriend. When they were separated from each other because of their hospital assignments, he even feels worried that history was bound to repeat itself---him being left by the one woman he ever loved.

Lee Donghae, 31 years old in the sequel, learns from the hard way that second regrets are more painful than the first ones. He was a neurologist/surgeon in Incheon, engaged to Min Sunye, and exposed to having an affair with previous girlfriend Jessica Jung. The more he and Jessica are intertwined in work, the more his heart can’t stop beating, despite having sworn to marry Sunye.

Min Sunye is older than her fiancé Donghae in two years and she understands his behavior, in being quite immature about playing with each other’s feelings. She is an undertaking photographer in the modeling industry. Other than Donghae, she’s friends with Heechul through her old friend Sohee. Although being the one usually left behind, she faithfully still hopes that one day he would tell her the truth and who she truly is in his heart.

Jung Jessica is the medical technologist who seems to capture all the men around her. She works in Incheon and holds a beautiful bond with her ex-boyfriend Donghae. Although most ex-lovers end up never talking to each other, Donghae and Sica appear to be the best of friends. She owes him so many things and her current boyfriend, more of a little boy inside a man’s body, takes all the precautionary measure in hope that she would not fall in love with the fellow doctor again.

Lee Jinki, or Onew as what others refer him to, is the current News Editor of Incheon’s community publication, who does everything for his Hubae, the girl that means a lot to him. He could not explain how important the girl actually is to him. He works with Heechul who is the Editor In Chief of the publication. He is witty and at times just plain ridiculous and immature. Yet he becomes the best ‘oppa’ not only to his girlfriend Jessica, but also to a very special girl.

Choi Sooyoung is the assertive and poised journalist who gets all the luck from her friend Onew. She treats him differently, other than a superior, for he never acted like one. She helps him get through the troubles of love, causing his feelings for her to fluctuate from here to there. Sooyoung, who was also hoping that they could take it up, worried that it’d ruin his relationship with Jessica, who was also her closest friend.

Choi Siwon meets up with Sooyoung, his ex-girlfriend, when he had already committed himself to his current girl Stella. Upon ending the latter’s connection, he learns more about Sooyoung, the reason why she could never had truly loved him in the prequel. But even so, he wins Sooyoung easily. But was she truly happy?

Kim Stella was Siwon’s girlfriend during SMEU days before Sooyoung ever entered the university. She left for America, causing dorm 9 to have only 9 women instead of ten. She returns to Korea with Siwon for a short period.

Kim Jongwoon or Yesung now owns a music school along with his wife Choonhee. On their sixth year of marriage, Choonhee reveals that she is pregnant, something that Yesung had been hoping for ages. But all the while, he seemed to act strange around her, teasing and playing with her emotions. In truth, he just couldn’t admit to himself that they were going to have a child to take care...a cowardly manner of acceptance. He works his hardest, asking business partners to invest in their little school until he met his sunbae.

Moon Geun Young is Yesung’s older music sunbae who helped Daeyung the music school to expand horizons. But she is actually Choonhee’s only frustrations that cause simple abnormalities not only to her heart but also to the baby she had in her.

Park Jungsu or Leeteuk is already a major director who conquers not only the small screens but also the cinemas. He is signed to a company where his wife also works as the assistant executive. He works industriously---completely ignoring his family relationships and forgetting to give what his twins and dear wife need: his love. The common bickering will lead to an unexpected divorce, which his children will do everything to repair.

Kim Taeyeon is a tough woman, nagging most of the time, but very brave when she suspects different traits her husband was showing. She is also a director, except in office works, and focuses more on budgeting and accounting for her company. As time passes, her love for him changes---uncontrollable now that hatred was at the top. She loves her twins dearly and they are the only reason why she still is staying in the same house as him. But slowly, she continues with the initial plan, believing that there would be no future for her and Leeteuk.

Kim Kibum comes back to Korea in hopes of a successful career after being reunited with his family. Unexpectedly he shares a spotlight with his previous college sweetheart Yoona and stars in a drama written by his hyung-nim. Because it wasn’t only Yoona in the set, a new girl captures his heart with simplicity and pure innocence.

Im Yoon Ah is a rising actress---and just like most, she struggles with every kind of rumors spreading about her. She is reunited with her friend Kibum and becomes more and more fond of him through her role in the drama.

Park Yeeun is the new girl, Yoona’s hubae inthe acting industry back in SMEU. From the first time she had seen Kibum, Yeeun’s heart just wouldn’t stop calling for the boy. She tries her best through that field to impress him but no matter what she does, someone else seems to be on his mind. And that someone is actually her close unnie.

Kim Ryeowook is an architect who works for Kyuhyun’s business law firm. Though often serious in work, he is extremely jolly, in a way that he lightens the mood in the office. He takes care of all business in relation to buildings and design for future purposes. Together with him is his old companion Beige that later on becomes his love interest.

Park Luna makes an appearance as an affluent owner and manager of a known business. As she tries her best to call Ryeowook’s attention and become what they used to be, the more he seem to move away from her and fall for another.

Beige is the engineer who handles structure projects for her company, Kyuhyun’s law firm. She still entertains the feelings she had for Ryeowook in prequel and therefore causing her to miss those days. She simply avoids him but every time she did, Ryeowook came back with more. She is kind and understanding, sometimes just sarcastic.

Lee Sungmin is the co-owner of Cho-Lee Business Law Firm Inc with his best friend Cho Kyuhyun. He is married to Sunny and has a daughter, who he lately had been neglecting because of work. He is very concerned of his job, working his hardest to become just as good as his partner.

Lee Sunkyu or Sunny is also a lawyer in a smaller firm and hardly has time for her daughter as well. With so many things coming up, her mood swings are often blamed on her husband Sungmin who intends to worsen these cases. She is shown as intelligent and supportive for Kyuhyun and Seohyun’s relationship just like her husband.
