Fah Bao-Zhi's POV:

Me and my wife had been married for six years and we had been trying for a child for four of thoses years but we couldn't get one. Then we heard from a neighbour of ours that a couple in Beijing had recently adopted a boy from England and the both of us decided to try that and applied to adopt, within a few months we were accepted and that summer we were on our way to England to get our child. Finally we felt like our family was going to be complete and we just couldn't wait to get over there, we didnt care if our child was female or male, a year old or seventeen years old, we just wanted to be parents. As soon as we arrived at London we were whisked of to the orphanage with our translator and as soon as we arrived at the orphanage we were sent into a room where waiting for us was Sophie, at first none of us spoke because we found it so akward but it was Sophie who broke that awkwardness for us. 

"Are you going to be my new mummy and daddy?" she asked and at that moment we fell in love with her as we nodded and she smiles and about a week or two later we were back here in Shanghai as a family. At first there was a serious language barrier between the three of us but as Sophie began to teach us English and we taught her Chinese that barrier began to break but soon the nightmares started and everynight we were in her room waking her up because she was screaming in her sleep. That was when she began to shout at us and tell us she hated us and wished we just left her in England "TAKE ME BACK NOW" she would scream and sometimes she became violent so we had to lock her in her room untl she calmed down, one time she freaked out so much she made her ill. One day though she came home from school happily saying in perfect Chinese "Mama, baba, I got one of the highest scores in a test in my class" before hugging us and since that day things were going really well: Sophie became fluent in Chinese and me and my wife were very slow in picking up English but at least Sophie was patient in teaching us. Then one day she came home from school saying that she had been set a project over the holidays to create a family tree and she wanted to create two, one for us and the other for her real family and with the help of some friends we managed to track down someone who could help us so the three of us went to England a few weeks later. 

That someone we went to meet was a woman called Jenna who was in her early to mid twenties, recently married with a daughter of her own and a step-son, as soon as she saw Sophie she began to panic and told us to leave when we asked her why she just wouldnt give us a reason. We soon learnt of an elderly woman that Jenna was in fact Sophie's mum and when she first became pregnant she had originally wanted an abortion but Sophie's father stopped her by saying that if she wasnt going to raise their child up he would do it by himself. As the months went on Jenna had began to develop a special bond with the child growing inside of her and was actually getting excited about having her own family, but on the final month of her pregnancy Sophie's father had died in accident and when Sophie was born Jenna wanted her gone seeing Sophie as the sole reason to her fathers death and when she was placed into the orphanage the people there were told that BOTH of her parents had died in the accident and that was that. When we aked the woman who she was she told us she took care of Sophie's father from a young age because his own mother had become ill and unable to look after him, when we returned back here Sophie ended up doing two family tree's; our family tree and her fathers family tree whilst also changing her name from Sophie Fah to Sophie Baker-Fah, Baker being her fathers last name. 

From that day onwards Sophie would come here crying that nobody apart from us would love her and no man would want to marry her and she would die alone... she still thinks about it now... she never tells us but we can tell... 

No one's POV: 

"Whoa" was all Kris could say as her father finsihed his story "Now I've told you mine... well Sophie's... you need to tell me yours" said her father as Kris sighed "If I tell you, promise me you wont tell anyone else... not even Sophie" said Kris as her father nodded and he began to tell him everything that had been happening in the past month. Surely a man cant do that to his own son" said Sophie's father as Kris finished explaining "Well my father can" replied Kris as he got up out of his seat and bowed "Thank you for this" he said as he looked up to find Sophie's father smiling. "And sir, I may have spent the shortest time possible with Sophie, but it was the best time of my life... I love her" said Kris as her father handed him a card which had an adress of a hotel on it "If you're ever free around the end of the month we'll be there" he said as Kris smiled and walked out of the restaurant back to Mrs Li. 

'If that boy was still with Sophie, I would let him marry her any day' her father thought to himself as he watched Kris leave and got up to continue working.
