No one's POV: 

"Sorry if this hurts" said Kris as he went to clean the cut and Sophie had to contain herself from flinching away in pain, the two of them were in the kitchen leaning over the sink as blody dripped of her arm "Do you think I'll need to go to hospital?" she asked as Kris began to bandage her arm before moving onto her hand "No, I think you're lucky" he replied 'No thanks to me'. "So why the sudden outburst when you got through the door?" she asked as Kris sighed "My parents want me to get married" he said "But you dont want to do you?" she asked as he shook his head "I want to marry someone who I fall in love with and they fall in love with me... not someone who is being forced to marry me just so her father and my father can get more money" he explained as Sophie stood there not saying anything until he was done. "Have you tried speaking to your parents about it?" she asked as he laughed silently "All mum did was slap me across the face" he said as he sighed again. 

"What you have to understand about my parents is that they're not like other parents. When I was thirteen onwards they always kept me inside so they could make me someone I didnt want to become, then they just left me.... forgot about me, I went to make my money and then they came crawlling back the minute I made millions. Mrs Li, Luhan, Chen, Xiumin Lay and Tao have been more of a family to me than my parents ever were" he explained "How did they leave you?" she asked "When I was seventeen they just packed up and left.... I woke up one morning and Mrs Li told me they were gone, they didnt leave a note or anything, two years later I make it big and then they come running back quicker than that Jamaican man Usain Bolt" he replied as he thought back to that day. 

*flashback* 

As Kris woke up and looked at his clock he felt like something wasnt right, it was 11:30 am and usually by 8:00 am his mum was screaming at him to wake up and get his lazy out of bed. When he walked out of his bedroom door it was  unusually quiet... no noise was being made at all and usually his father was screaming orders around the house. As he ventured downstairs most of the stuff in the house was gone along with most of the workers, when he was at the bottom step he could see Mrs Li sat in the living room at a loss of what to do when she turned around and saw Kris staring at her, her eyes widened in shock. "Master Wu I didnt expect you to still be here" she said "Where is everyone?" he asked as she looked at him puzzled "You mean... you dont know?" she asked as Kris shook his head. 

"Your parents are gone" she said "Gone? Where?" he asked "I dont know, I got here this morning to find men moving most of their stuff out of the house along with most of the workers. When I asked them where they were going they said they were leaving and left it at that" she explained as Kris began to panic "And they didnt even leave an address for me?" he asked as she shook her head. He couldnt believe this... yeah his parents treated him like growing up but surely they would never abandon their seventeen year old son? Would they? "Kris... are you ok?" asked Mrs Li as he began to panic "No I'm not ok... my parents have just abandoned me... what did they expect me to do grow up quickly and fend for myself?" he half asked half shouted as his rage began to creep up on him before he felt someone hug him. "Stop that, of course you're not going to be here alone I'll be here" said Mrs Li as Kris hugged her back "You wont leave me will you?" he asked as Mrs Li shook her head "You promise?" "I promise". 

*end of flashback* 

"Now I see why you hate them so much" said Sophie as Kris finished bandaging her hand "And now they expect me to do as they please? I dont think so" he said as he ran his hands through his hair before facing Sophie... an idea had just popped into his head. "Come on" he said as he went to fetch his coat and her coat "Where are we going?" she asked "Out for dinner, my treat, as an apology" he replied and before Sophie could say anything he took her hand and led her out the door.
