Chapter 2

For the rest of the lesson I was thinking about Daehyun... well, it was kind of hard not to as I could feel his eyes pretty much burning a whole in the back of my head! What if he is a Vampire... and he saw my eyes!? He would know I'm one too! I couldn't help but panic at this thought. See, because of how HaJoon is, I'm scared to meet another male Vampire my age.

I was extremely grateful when the bell that signaled the end of class rung. I quickly gathered all of my stuff together and scurried out of the classroom, hoping to avoid Daehyun. As I got to the end of the hallway, I looked over my shoulder to check. Success! I smiled in satisfaction before walking to the school garden. Sitting down on my usual bench I took out my lunch... well, it's a carton of blood. What do you expect me to do, eat the food that humans do!? I can't, it makes me throw up. Every month every single vampire is sent an amount of cartons that they make last until the next month.

I looked around to make sure no one would see as my eyes turned blue and my fangs extended. Piercing the carton with the straw, I started up the blood. I got halfway through the cartoon before placing it on the bench next to me for the minute. my lips, I took in the sweet taste of the red liquid. Leaning back on the bench I closed my eyes to relax, but just as I did so I heard footsteps coming towards me.

The person cleared their throat before talking. "Excuse me?" I opened my eyes to see the person that I was trying to avoid since earlier, it startled me to see him standing right in front of me.

"N-ne?" I stuttered. "Can I help you?" I asked, a bit suspicious of him.

"Ah, yeh... it's just... I couldn't help but saw your eyes earlier and wondered..." He said shyly whilst rubbing the back of his neck. I looked at him in anticipation, I knew what was coming. He said and ruffled his hair in frustration. "You're the same as me, aren't you?" He blurted. My heart starting beating faster. What do I say?

"Eh-h..." I didn't know what to say. Daehyun seemed to pick up on this.

"If you're not then why is there a half drunken of blood in your lunchbox?" He asked knowingly. I was caught so I just slowly nodded my head. He smiled seeing this. "Phew, that means I'm not alo-".

"Nara, who is this?" Daehyun's sentenced was cut off. We both snapped our heads round to see HaJoon. He was standing there with his arms crossed and glaring at Daehyun. Almost forgetting Daehyun was there, I got up and walked closer to him.
"Go away HaJoon, I've told you to leave me alone." I said, emphasizing each word. HaJoon scoffed and looked over me to see Daehyun standing in the same place with furrowed eyebrows. He looked back at me and grabbed my shoulders tightly, I squirmed in his grip. Getting closer to my face his whispered harshly to me:

"Smells like another vampire to me. Don't get friendly with him. You're mine." With that he shoved me back and let me go. He glared at Daehyun and was about to walk away until a ring of fire surrounded him. "What the-" He muttered in disbelief. I gasped and looked around to see Daehyun, standing behind me with the same orange eyes from earlier.

"Didn't you hear her? She told you to leave her alone." He growled out. HaJoon scoffed.

"And what makes you think I'll listen?" He asked with a smirk. Daehyun glared a him.

"Because if you touch her again without her consent... I will burn you to a crisp." HaJoon's smirk faltered for a minute before returning to it's normal self.

"Tch. Sure~" He said mockingly before stepping over the fire and walking off. The fire stopped and Daehyun turned to look at me.

I was just standing there with my mouth wide open staring at the burnt ground in front of me. Daehyun clicked his fingers in front of my face, bringing me back to my senses. I looked up at him.

"W-why did you do that?" I asked. He looked at me as if I just asked the most stupid question ever.

"I could tell that you didn't like him and what he did was out of whack." He explained. I couldn't help but smile at this. No one had ever helped me out before.

"Thank you Daehyun-shi!" I said gratefully.

"Yah, no formalities, I want to be friends." He said with a slight frown. My heart started beating faster for some reason.

"Ah-ah- ne." I said, a slight blush forming on my cheeks. Daehyun smiled seeing this.

For the rest of lunch Daehyun and I got to know each other better. It probably seems weird but I felt comfortable around him, like I'd known him for a long time. As the bell rung we walked to our last lesson together before settling down and doing some work.

Wow, I've actually got a friend! And someone I don't have to lie to! Daebak! I grinned at the thought.
