I'm starting to wonder how many photos like this are there.... ><

"I guess..." Sungyeol trailed off, voice still squeaky. Myungsoo leaned in to listen.

"I guess I'd better get going." Sungyeol hesitated, then got up, back turned to Myungsoo.

Myungsoo frowned. The feeling of Sungyeol's lips pressed up against his still lingered, and Myungsoo could still almost taste his coffee-scented breath. And in that instant, Myungsoo knew he didn't want Sungyeol to go. Not yet. Myungsoo took a deep breath.

"How..." He scratched the back of his head, still reeling a little, "How about coming to my house for lunch?" When Sungyeol still hesitated, Myungsoo couldn't help adding a "you don't have to stay over if you're busy...", his heart clenching a little. If he sounded desperate, it was because he truly was. For some reason, after the kiss, all Myungsoo wanted to do was to hold Sungyeol close like a best friend couldn't.

Sungyeol stopped in his tracks, and turned, a slow smile taking over his face, lifting it. Myungsoo's heart soared.

"Yeah, sure..." Sungyeol pretended to glance at his watch, "I still have time."

"Let's go then!" Myungsoo leapt off the park bench, jogging in the direction they'd come with huge, springy bounds. He realised Sungyeol wasn't following, and turned to look for the boy. Sungyeol had taken a few steps from where he'd stood, and was looking at Myungsoo with a horrified expression. Myungsoo smoothed a hand down his hair, rubbed it against his face, just to make sure he looked normal.

"We're running back?" Sungyeol clapped a hand to his cheek.

Myungsoo shrugged nonchalently. "Yeah..."

"I'm going to dieeeeee!!" Sungyeol flung his hands melodramatically into the air, then shut up at Myungsoo's look, and followed behind obediently.

After what seemed like moments to Myungsoo (and eternity to Sungyeol), both boys arrived at Myungsoo's doorstep, where the boy had found Sungyeol that morning.

Sungyeol made a muffled noise of relief, and collapsed onto the doorknob sobbing.

"I SURVIVED." He panted, waving a hand weakly at Myungsoo, who wagged his hand awkwardly in the air back.

"Uhm. Yay?" Myungsoo let them both in, and grinned at Sungyeol.

"You could sound happier, you know?" Sungyeol grumbled, then made a beeline for the fridge, and took out the water jug, and poured himself a glass of cold water. Before he took a sip of the water though, he poured Myungsoo a glass too, and motioned him over. They leaned back against the kitchen sink, and drank the water, and Myungsoo found himself slowly sipping the clear liquid just so he could have an excuse to stand so close to Sungyeol that their arms brushed against each other's when they moved. Myungsoo pretended not to notice when Sungyeol's adam's apple bobbed up and down ily, and Sungyeol pretended not to notice that Myungsoo was pretending not to notice.

Sungyeol finished his drink first, and turned around to wash the cup.

"Don't bother, I'll do it..." Myungsoo rubbed his eyes with the back of his hand lazily.

"Nah, it's okay." Sungyeol stuck out his hand, and grabbed Myungsoo's empty glass, and washed that too. Myungsoo smiled. Once again, the notion that Sungyeol was so at home in his home made Myungsoo feel irrationally happy. In fact, alot of things about Sungyeol made him irrationally happy, to the point that Myungsoo felt he was almost silly. Why must the corners of his mouth pull upwards instinctively whenever he sees Sungyeol? There was something about the boy...

And Myungsoo realised that it'd become worse after the kiss. After that one fleeting moment, Myungsoo had wanted more, had wanted to hold Sungyeol close, and never let go. He hated admitting it, but maybe--just maybe-- he didn't really think of Sungyeol as a best friend. Perhaps he'd never thought of Sungyeol like that at all. Why was it all so complicated?

Myungsoo sighed, fought with himself for a while, then succumbed to the want to get closer to Sungyeol. Slowly, Myungsoo leaned against Sungyeol, the side of his head resting against the boy's. Sungyeol acted like he hated Myungsoo's sweaty body pressed up against his, then leaned against Myungsoo too, so that both boys stood swaying beside the sink, supported by only each other.

"Phew!" Sungyeol teased, "You stink."

Myungsoo grinned. "So do you, silly."

"Do not..."

"Do too..."

They laughed.

Myungsoo used his arm to support Sungyeol, then straightened up himself. Myungsoo ruffled Sungyeol's hair.

"Go on, you can shower first."

"No, you go first. You stink more." Sungyeol fake frowned at Myungsoo.

"Seriously. You shower first. I was the one to drag you out on a jog, I should bear the consequences." Myungsoo flapped Sungyeol in the direction of the bathroom. Sungyeol merely glared at him, and refused to budge.

"No." Sungyeol looked at Myungsoo out from under his pinched eyebrows. Myungsoo sighed, and wondered how to come to a concession.

"Hey!" Sungyeol's face brightened up, and his frown dissolved into a smile that momentarily dazzled myungsoo.

"Mmm?"

"How about we shower together?" Sungyeol's smile increased in wattage. "I'll wash your back! Come on!"

Myungsoo choked on air, and collapsed on the ground, trying to find a handhold on the smooth tiles that covered the floor of his kitchen. If he showered with Sungyeol, he'd die. He'd probably melt into a puddle of Myung Goo, and dissolve in the water, and disappear down the drain, and never be heard of again...

Stuck in his own thoughts, Myungsoo didn't realise that Sungyeol had taken hold of one of his feet, and had started dragging him in the direction of the bathroom. When a bump jolted him, Myungsoo realised where he was, and panicked, kicking his legs frantically, landing awkwardly next to the toilet bowl, because Sungyeol had let go of his legs for fear of being thumped by his socked feet.

"What?" Sungyeol spread his arms, and opened his eyes in an innocent stare at Myungsoo.

"No..." Myungsoo managed to eke out, "No shower..." He gasped for air, and started crawling out of the bathroom, trying not to be spotted by Sungyeol.

Sungyeol looked at him curiously for a while, then stood in front of him, cutting off his only line of escape. Myungsoo gave a strangled scream of doom.

"Whyyyyyy??" Myungsoo raised clawed hands to the heavens, and tried to wriggle through Sungyeol's legs that didn't budge.

"You don't want to shower?" Sungyeol looked disgusted. "But you're all sweaty and stinky, and and and..."

Myungsoo waved a hand in the air to distract Sungyeol. "No, I do want to shower--"

Sungyeol smiled broadly at him again. "That's okay then!" Sungyeol reached down, and hooked his fingers around the hem of his own shirt.

"NOOOOOO!!!! STOP. RIGHT. THERE." Myungsoo screeched, crawling mega-speed towards the toilet door. Then he straightened the terrified look on his face, and added calmly, "I just need to get something." Sungyeol had carried on with taking off his shirt, and Myungsoo made sure he looked away in time, to prevent a heartattack.

Myungsoo shut the door to his bedroom, and leaned against it, panting heavily, eyes wild and darting about the room. There was no way he could do this. Shower? With Sungyeol? No. No way. No way in hell. Because....

Because...

BECAUSE...

Myungsoo couldn't come up with a sound, (socially acceptable), truthful answer. Both he and Sungyeol were both guys. What Sungyeol owned, he had too. There was no reason to feel so...foreign with the idea. Besides, they were best friends (Myungsoo tried his best to ignore his earlier sentiments), there was nothing remotely strange about showering together. Perhaps if Sungyeol only back-faced him, and Myungsoo only washed his back, then closed his eyes and finished his shower like that, it couldn't be all that dangerous, could it? Myungsoo grabbed two soft, fluffy towels, armed himself with a new set of clothes complete with underwear, and steeled himself, and walked out of the room.

And walked right into Sungyeol only clad in underwear (Myungsoo swore he didn't mean to look down).

This is one intellectually and finely written fanfic I have ever read. (I'm new to fanfics too but I have read many & this is 2nd one to my standards of very well composed ones.) All the love to you!
