Awwww :')

"Uhh, Sungyeol?" Myungsoo tried for the umpteenth time.

"Hmm?" Sungyeol turned his head to look at Myungsoo, arm still wrapped firmly around his shoulders.

"Sungyeol, you don't really have to walk me all the way back to my home, you know?" Myungsoo aranged his features into what he called his most persuasive face. Sungyeol raised one eyebrow skeptically, so Myungsoo added a hasty "I'm fine, honest!"

But Sungyeol's arm stayed where it was, squeezing Myungsoo tight, as if trying to stop Myungsoo from falling apart (which, of course, he was not about to do). Myungsoo smiled in defeat, and let the other boy drag him to the step of his apartment.

"Go on in..." Sungyeol motioned at the door with a grand sweep of his hand. Sungyeol retracted his arm around Myungsoo's shoulders.

Myungsoo tried not to sigh at that, because his skin felt a little cold, where Sungyeol's arm had been so warm against him.

"Bye..." Myungsoo got out his keys, but didn't unlock his door. He wanted to take his time, wanted Sungyeol to hang around for just a while longer, wanted to spend more time with Sungyeol.

Sungyeol eyed the key. "Go on," he grinned, "or can't you bear to part with me?"

Myungsoo groaned, and realised how much he resembled a soppy girlfriend. Bleh. He unlocked the door, and poked his tongue out at Sungyeol (who was still standing there, with a goofy smile that he'd been wearing from the busstop outside the cafe), and shut the door with a decisive click. Once inside, Myungsoo turned to the kitchen. He was starving--he'd skipped lunch, and dinner had never sounded so good.

Myungsoo took out some carrots, potatoes. Tonight, he'd cook a pot of curry, and he'd have the leftovers for lunch the next day.

With his knife, Myungsoo carefully cut the potatoes into small cubes, painstakingly making sure that the dices were of equal sizes...

"BAM!"

Frantic knocking at the front door of his apartment made Myungsoo jump, and the knife he was holding slipped, and nearly took off his index finger. Myungsoo stopped, put down the knife with a clatter, and placed one hand over his chest to calm himself. The frantic knocking didn't stop, so Myungsoo ran to the door, if only to make the terrible noise cease.

"What is it?!" He nearly shouted, throwing the door as wide open as it would go. He caught a glance of huge, frightened eyes, before something full of elbows and knees barreled into him, and knocked him off balance, and both people fell to the ground. The other person lifted his head, and glanced backwards, and kicked the door close. Myungsoo could feel how much the person was panting.

Myungsoo's first instinct was to scream blue murder (what if this guy was trying to rob, or worse, him?!), but the person who had fallen on top of him capped a hand over his mouth to keep him silent. Myungsoo panicked, and kicked the "assailant" down there, and the guy rolled off him, gasping in pain. Myungsoo finally got a proper look at his face, and gaped.

"Sungyeol?!" Myungsoo shifted, so that he was crouched down beside the boy twitching on the ground. He thought of what to say next.

"I thought you went home..." Myungsoo mumbled dumbly, and Sungyeol didn't bother answering. Myungsoo got up, to lock the door, which had only been kicked shut by Sungyeol.

"Yah! What'd you do that for?!" Sungyeol motioned to his crotch, "I'll hold you responsible if there's no longer any possibility of mini Sungyeollies running around..." Sungyeol trailed off when he saw Myungsoo moving towards the door.

"Don't open it..." Sungyeol whispered, clutching his foot to try to stop Myungsoo from walking and further to the door.

"Why? Who's out there?" Myungsoo was bewildered, and only wanted to look outseide even more. Straining against Sungyeol, Myungsoo dragged both of them over to the peephole in the door, and peered out.

There was nothing, nobody...

Until a group of rough-looking boys panted their way into view. They didn't look very friendly, and they looked like bad news to Myungsoo--the kind of guys he'd try to avoid when walking in the streets. Myungsoo glanced at Sungyeol. Remembered how the boy had also been out of breath from running, when he'd crashed into Myungsoo.

Outside, the guy with the biggest arms scuffed his foot slowly against the ground, and spat. The rest of the group scanned the area, as if searching for something. Judging from the way they'd thundered into view, they could well have been chasing someone. Myungsoo thought back to how terrified Sungyeol's eyes had been when the boy'd run in, and silently put two and two together.

Myungsoo bent down beside Sungyeol, who was trying to avoid his eyes.

"Those guys... You were running from them. Why? Sungyeol? Who are they?"

Sungyeol didn't reply, didn't look at Myungsoo, just scrunched himself into a small ball, as if trying to protect himself fromt he world.

"Tell me." Myungsoo hated how young, how vulnerable Sungyeol looked just then. He wanted to help Sungyeol. But he couldn't, if he didn't know what Sungyeol was up against.

"Tell me, please." Myungsoo was on the verge of begging. But Sungyeol didn't make a sound, and Myungsoo gave up for the moment, resolving to try again when Sungyeol had calmed down.

Taking a deep breath, Myungsoo straightened, and returned to the kitchen, to dice the potatoes again. He looked over his shoulder at Sungyeol who was just beginning to uncurl and sit up, hair all unkempt and wild. Myungsoo smiled to himself.

"I'm cooking curry for dinner. Want some?"

Sungyeol's eyes lit up, and he looked considerably happier. Sungyeol nodded. Myungsoo smiled even harder.

"Then come help me out!" Myungsoo pointed another knife in Sungyeol's direction, and the boy held his hands out infront of him, as if trying to pretect himself from attack.

"Don't kill me!" Sungyeol fake-screamed jokingly, and Myungsoo rolled his eyes at the ridiculous boy. And hid another smile that was threatening to stretch his face again.

"Then help." Myungsoo said, turning back to his potatoes, dicing them into even, little squares. A moment later, Sungyeol came to join him, and Myungsoo could feel the guy's breath on his neck, as he peered over his shoulder to watch him work.

"You're a perfectionist, aren't you?" Sungyeol said matter of factly, shifting over, and taking hold of the carrots.

"No I'm not!" Myungsoo insisted half-heartedly, slicing a tiny piece off the corner of one little potato block, that was bothering him, because it was bigger than the rest of the little blocks.

"Okay... So you're OCD about potatos?" Sungyeol smiled, and patted Myungsoo on the back.

"Yah! I have a knife in my hand!" Myungsoo waved the 'weapon' abut menacingly. Sungyeol laughed, and got to work, chopping the carrots up.

After nearly ten minutes had gone by (Myungsoo was done with the potatos, and had dropped them into the pot to cook.), Sungyeol finally straightened up, and cracked his knuckles with a satisfied grin.

"Here, have one..." Sungyeol took a piece of carrot, and held it infront of Myungsoo's mouth, tyring to feed it to him.

Myungsoo was about to close his eyes, and chomp on the carrot, when he realised that the slice of carrot was definitely oddly-shaped. It tapered off sharply at one end, and there were two rounded bumps at the other end.

"A heart shape?" Myungsoo took it from Sungyeol's hand with his teeth, and crunched on it slowly. Sungyeol looked at him expectantly, as if the carrot was something he'd cooked, and he wanted a review on the taste or something.

"Delicious..." Myungsoo tried. Sungyeol's face broke into a huge grin. Then it hit Myungsoo.

"What did you do with the bits of carrot you cut off? Did you just throw them away?" Myungsoo was worrying about the waste of food, when he glanced at Sungyeol.

"Um..." Sungyeol trailed off, and stopped chewing, swallowing guiltily. "I ate them..."

"Ugh. I'm full..." Sungyeol sighed, rubbing his stomach, and stretching backwards. Myungsoo watched him with amusement.

"Of course you're full. You finished what I planned to have for dinner, and tomorrow's lunch." Myungsoo smiled, and continued, before Sungyeol could apologise, "It's okay, I'll just have ramen tomorrow..." He nodded his head towards the kitchen cupboard.

Sungyeol leaned back on the sofa, making himself comfy, and Myungsoo liked the way the boy looked so at home in his house. Myungsoo ran a hand through his hair, and stood up, heading to the bathroom to wash up before bed. Standing before the sink, he smiled at the toothbrush Sungyeol'd brought, and forgotten to take home that day. It was as if Sungyeol had moved in with him or something...

Myungsoo stopped his train of thought, and glared at his reflection in the mirror. Why did he feel so delighted at the thought? Shaking his head slightly to clear it, Myungsoo washed his face, brushed his teeth, then vacated the bathroom so Sungyeol could use it.

Myungsoo rummaged through his closet for a blanket, and made up the couch, and lay down.

"Yah!" Sungyeol made a frustrated noise when he'd finished with the bathroom. "I'm sleeping on the couch. It's alright, you can use the bed."

Myungsoo raised one eyebrow. "Remember how well that worked out last time?" Myungsoo lay down again. "I'm sleeping here. Go to bed."

Sungyeol came over, and tried to drag Myungsoo off the couch. "How about we both sleep on the bed?" Sungyeol poked Myungsoo in the ribs, making him squirm and sit up, arms crossed over his torso to protect himself.

 "No." Myungsoo glared at Sungyeol.

"Aw, come on..." Sungyeol shook his shoulder, "let's sleep together..."

Myungsoo's eyes nearly popped out of his head. "What?" He asked, glancing up at Sungyeol's face, then realising he'd interpreted the question wrongly. He let himself be dragged by the hand into the bedroom, and both boys flopped onto the bed. Sungyeol reached across him, to turn out the light.

"Wait!" Myungsoo put a hand out to stop him, and climbed out of bed, and rummaged in his drawer. He found what he was looking for, plugging it into the socket in the wall beside Sungyeol. The corner of the room became lit up with a cosy glow.

"A night light?" Sungyeol looked confused. "Why do you have one of those things?"

Myungsoo rolled his eyes. "I bought it." He climbed back into bed, and turned out the light. Myungsoo closed his eyes, tired out, and ready to sleep as if he was dead...

Something soft and warm brushed against his cheek. Myungsoo started, and flung his hand out to turn the light on again.

"What," Myungsoo asked, holding his cheek, "was that?"

Sungyeol grinned at him. "That was for taking me in the last time." Sungyeol leaned closer, and Myungsoo feared his heart would stop. Sungyeol tilted his head, so that all Myungsoo could see was the boy's cheek, and his brown hair. He shivered slightly when Sungyeol's lips brushed his cheek again.

"That's for dinner tonight." Sungyeol pulled back, smiled at him one last time, and lay down again. Myungsoo stared at him in disbelief for the next few heartbeats.

"Couldn't you just thank me normally?"

Sungyeol opened his eyes for a second to glance at Myungsoo. "No."

And then Myungsoo had to turn the light out again. Because he was afraid Sungyeol would notice his face now somewhat resembled a tomato.

"G'night..." Sungyeol murmured.

"Night." Myungsoo turned over, so he faced the wall, and failed to get the good night's sleep he truly needed.
