His parents were at work like usually. He had told them about the surgery but had talked them into doing their usualy stuff until they had given in. But now he wasn't so sure anymore about him going alone. What if something went wrong this time? They had never managed to remove his cancer completely but Leeteuk had at least managed to make it hurt less and go down a little. The only thing that would most likely happen was that he would have a fever afterwards. Like always. But at least his expected cold hadn't come yet.

Henry took another deep breath, then he entered the hospital. The receptionist immediately recognized him and waved for him from the counter. He sighed and walked past the small waiting line of people waiting to get to the front and it being their turn. The people he passed stared at him almost hatefully, making him swallow. He didn't want anyone to hate him.

"Yes, yes, I got that. But we cannot do anything about that. So, would you please go back to the waiting area?" the receptionist just said to one of the other people who most likely just tried to get to someone. Angry, he gave up and the middleaged woman sighed. "Hello, Henry-sshi! I was just supposed to tell you that you shall come to the second floor today because doctor Park's schedule is pretty full today and one of your usual nurses will take care of you."

Henry nodded, thanked her and then went to the second floor. He just went through the door from the stairs to the real floor itself when he was almost overrun by two little children. He barely managed to get out of the way as the two ran downstairs. He glanced back into the hallway and saw a depressed looking young woman. He had to smile.

Henry approached the woman. "Hello!" She looked up. "Do those two belong to you?"

"Yes. Those are my son and my friend's son. My friend can't come here to get her son because she isn't even in this country right now and no one knows about his father, so we made up that I would get him and then maybe take him to his grandparents."

"Then I guess you should hurry to go after those two or they'll be gone with the wind!"

The young woman laughed. "Yes, I guess you're right. Did they run downstairs?"

"Yes, where else?"

"You're right. Okay, thank you." She bowed slightly and then headed towards the stairs as well. Henry smiled gently while he looked after the young woman. The two children had reminded him of himself...

"Henry-sshi!" He turned around and saw one of the nurses, Kwon Yuri, come towards him.

"Henry's here?" another voice resonated as well.

"Yes, Tiffany-ah, Henry-sshi's here!" Yuri exclaimed and came towards him. The two women were always happy to see him even though they were sad that he had cancer.

Now Tiffany excited another room and smiled at him, approaching him as well. "C'mon, let's go up and get you ready for the doctor!"

"What about the patients on this floor?"

"We'll be back soon. But you belong to us!" Yuri laughed and Henry had to smile as well. Because, somehow she said the truth. Since he had come to this hospital, Yuri and Tiffany took care of him. Tiffany because he had had problems with Korean in the beginning and she sometimes had to translate for him and Yuri because she was just nice and had been there from the beginning as well. But he also knew that the two of them had been trained to know how to handle cancer patients, though they weren't the only ones of course.

They guided him one more floor up and there they gave him the things he needed to dress in for the surgery. He hated those clothes! But there was no way he could avoid them. A little later, Leeteuk came in and smiled at him. "Okay, you know what's going to happen today, don't you?"

"Yes."

"Are you ready?"

"Yes." He lay down and then waited until the anesthesia set in...

The surgery had gone smoothly like the times before. Now came the sensitive part. The last times Henry had gotten a fever the day after surgery and he could tell that Henry's immune system was weaker than the last time.

Leeteuk sighed and looked once more at the unconcious young man on the bed. He had lost the strength that usually surrounded him and now only looked vulnerable, pale and weak.

The doctor shook his head. He had to keep his mind off Henry or he wouldn't be able to work properly the whole day! He would just come back later again.

He woke up to the ringing of his cell phone and wished it to hell. But he knew better than not to answer it because it was his work calling.

"Yeoboseyo?"

"Mr Park?"

"Ne."

"You have to come over right now. It's about the young man in 4.12, Mr. Lau."

It didn't take anything else to make him be wide awake and get him out of the bed in no time. "I'll be there as soon as possible!" he said and ended the call.

Ten minutes later, he entered the hospital and ran up the stairs o the 4th floor where he quickly changed into his work clothes. Coming out of their changing room, he still rubbed the desinfectant into his hands. A nurse was waiting in front of Henry's room, walking up and down nervously.

"Jessica-sshi!"

The young woman looked up at his call. "Doctor Park!"

"What happened?"

"Mr. Lau has a terrible fever, it is worse than any other fever I've ever seen!"

Leeteuk opened the door without even coming to a stand in front of the nurse. On the inside, he saw Henry. He seemed to be all sweaty. His hair stuck to his forehead. The heart monitor was beeping faster than it should. When he was next to Henry, he could see how restless the boy was, his eyes moving behind his closed eye lids, his head moving from side to side, his body tensing again and again. A bowl with water and a wash cloth were on the table beside his bed.

"I tried to cool his body down with a cold wash cloth, but he moved so much that the cloth just wouldn't stay on his head," Jessica reported. "He has not received any medication yet."

Leeteuk nodded. He had been afraid that this would happen. He hurried to give the nurse some instructions.

The next few days, he saw Henry's parents, Mr. Kim and Ms Choi, but Henry didn't wake up even once. His fever slowly went down, ut Leeteuk started to worry about the younger boy. It wasn't good that he didn't wake up. He needed to wake up!

It was uncomfortable. There was an annoying, beeping tone. It was hot. He felt sick. He felt like he couldn't move.

A soft, familiar and female voice spoke next to him, being sometimes replaced by a male one. He knew those voices. He had to tell them that he was okay He had to open his eyes and smile at them. Could he even open his eyes, was that possible?

"... doesn't wake up?"

"His heart is still beating, yeobo."

"But what about... what about what he said then?"

"Soo-ah, his heart beats. He will not die. He has enough will to live."

"How can you be so sure?"

"That machine. It's everything we have."

"Don't say something like that!"

"You heard doctor Park, it's just a fever, the same as always. He will wake up."

I am awake! Henry wanted to scream but couldn't.

Something else resonated. Then another voice.

"How is he?"

"I don't know." His mother.

"Hasn't he woken up yet?" The male one again.

"That is not good." Again that voice.

"Isn't there any way you can help him wake up?" His mother.

"No, I'm sorry." The other man. The doctor? "Could you please make some space? I need to check on him."
