Blood. Life. Love. Us

Her aunt caressed her as a warm blanket wrapped around her shoulders. Standing outside the restaurant, the news spread fast. Naeun focused her eyes on the now windowless restaurant. Her eyes peeling from Chorong and Eunji.

Both were with their fathers. Chorong was talking to her father, the town mayor, her mother on the side. Eunji was as well in a discussion with her father, the sheriff. Naeun held tightly onto her bag, the book she found stuffed inside.

She was glad that no one was hurt through. Families, friends, almost half the town stood outside the restaurant wondering what could be the cause of this.

Her mind remembering the events of only moments ago. She sighed, today had turn from normal to bizarre to creepy odd to supernatural creepy. If she did not know better she will say it was her fought. Through she reasoned that there was no humanly way that she could be the caused for all the windows shattering.

"Naeun-ah, I'll be right back." Her aunt mumbled into her ear. Naeun nodded letting her aunt walk off towards the mayor. A camera crew stood close behind her aunt. Of course her aunt would want an exclusive of what occurred. But first she wanted to make sure her niece or none others were harmed.

"Could the days get any creepier?" Chorong said walking over to Naeun. Naeun shrugged in response.

"Don't jinx us." She retorted back at the girl. Chorong sat next to her. They were seated on the back of Kahi's car.

"Is it weird if I say that I feel like it's my fault?" Chorong asked. Naeun looked over to her friend. Chorong's eye marveled into open space, they gathered no emotion, just thoughts, many thoughts piling on top of one another. This was quiet different from Chorong's personality. Chorong was one of those people who carried her emotions and feelings on her sleeves. Naeun nimble on her bottom lip. There was no logical reasoning to all the windows breaking, but deep down inside Naeun, like Chorong, couldn't help but feel like it was also her fault.

"How could it possibly be your fault. You didn't even do anything." Naeun replied trying to persuade Chorong and herself that it was not their faults.

"It's her fault." Woohyun stammered under his breath. The three stood high up on a hill looking down at the scene below. Eyes slenderizing and bodies stiffen while looking down at the scene taking place below. The conversations between the two girls could clearly be heard.

Vampires had heightened senses, allowing them the supernatural abilities to hear the two girl's conversation. To normal people it would just sound like clashing tongues and different conversations.. They were all merged together so no one was able to hear the other. To vampires however, they had the ability to exact certain codes, like locating a stand of DNA. All other noises were shut off as their ears paid attention to only the conversation among Chorong and Naeun.

"They don't know yet." Hoya muttered. His eyes jumping from three certain girls, from one to another. His eyes landing on Jung Eunji who was making her way towards Chorong and Naeun. She looked rather strangely relax and content. Her eyes narrowing around studying all the subjects that moved about.

"We need to get out of town before this gets out of control. We should had never came back." Woohyun ordered. He was taken aback by Hoya's next words through.

"I want to stay." The four words shook his sworn brother's skin in the worst possible way. Woohyun's eyes narrowed examining Hoya, what the hell happened to the Hoya he knew, the one that he had known for four centuries. His eyes slowly moved following the subject who had Hoya's all divided attention. Jung Eunji.

"I don't want to leave either." Another pain hit his chest by Myungsoo's words. It was two against one and Woohyun knew he had lost, for now. Myungsoo's eye watched her like a hawk. Her every movement, every smile and frown. How her eyes carried so much, so many secrets. Secrets about him.

Woohyun had began cussing under this breath. It was just hissed whispers containing of phrases in the same category of 'stupid lovesick idiots'.
--

Naeun couldn't, she wouldn't let it control her life or scare her into a box. No, she couldn't, she needed to continue living her life. She needed to feel, human. Through both Eunji and Chorong objected Naeun's stubbornness was too much for both the two girls could handle so they let her off. Knowing Naeun would better find peace by herself.

It was the same familiar routine the same turns and stops over the same landscape. She knew it like she knew the back of her hand. The trees and the grass, the leaves that colored the world like a child's coloring book. The sounds of the leaves shifting under her feet filled her ears as they crunched under her weight.

It was her and the emptiness of natural surrounding her. Her footsteps slowly came to a sudden stop. That sixth sense ability that Eunji always said she had was back. Something was following her. She took a quick look behind her shoulders. Nothing but the trees and leaves.

Her head spun forwards when the sound of a twig made her jump in her spot. She instantly regretted leaving the Jung House where both Eunji and Chorong were.

"You okay?" His deep voice caught her off guard. Turning around she was face and face with Myungsoo for the second time that day. formed a frown. How does he always manage to surprise me, she asked herself.

"What, are you a stalker now?" She raised her eyebrows at him. A slight smirk appeared on his face. Naeun knew if she saw that smile enough she would soon become addicted to it. She could get addicted to him.

"I'm a lot of things. A stalker is not one of them." She had no idea why but his answer brought a smile onto her face, the fragile curve of her lips lighten the tension in her body.

"Where are you going?" He asked, through he already knew the answer.

"If you want to know, follow me then." She replied turning around as she continued walking. Myungsoo shrugged his shoulders, it was better than being stuck with Woohyun and Hoya all day.

Naeun paid attention to the quiet footsteps following behind her. A strong wave of emotion flushed her skin, she felt safe, the kind of safe a child was supposed to feel when caressed by their mother's touch. The feeling of just knowing he was close by made her feel safe, no one could harm her while he was around. It was strange, a foreign sign that she hadn't felt in years. A sign that scared her as much as she loved it.

"You still haven't told me why you're so jumpy." He repeated his question from before. Her footsteps slowed down but still refused to come to a sudden stop. Her head hanged low, memories of her day flashed through her mind.

"There was an incident at a local restaurant. That's all." She answered. Through it wasn't a complete lie it also wasn't the truth. His response came in a simple 'ah, so that's it.'

She decided that it was finally time to ask him a question. "Myungsoo-shi, where were you born?" The question was a normal one, he was after all one of the new kid in town. Surely others had ask this question.

"Here, in Seoul. " Plain and short, the expected response from him.

"When, when were you born?"

"Why are you so curious?" His deep, masculine, husky voice sending chills down her spine. He was so close to her, she could feel his breath on her skin. She flinched, coming to a sudden stop. When did he get so close to her?

had decided to get up on her, especially now when she most needed it, when she was around him. "You should keep the book away from Chorong, its not good for her to be around it." His cautioning voice echoed through her mind. His tone was cold and emotionless, a warning for her.

"...Wa-it, how..." She managed to mumble before he cut her off.

"You should go talk to your parents, their presence calms you, doesn't it." He finished. Naeun blinked. She instantly regretted blinking because in a mere flash of an instance, he was gone.
--

"So that's it. Seoul, me, him, us, life...honestly I'm doing better than expected. I'm doing to good. It kind of scares me. But I guess I rather feel scare than feel nothing at all." Naeun finished staring at the two headstones facing her. After Myungsoo disappeared on her she made her way towards her parent's grave.

The sun was slipping through the horizon as the day ended. It was one of the craziest days she could imagine. Her heart had stopped multiple times in the last 24 hours.

Was she crazy. Obviously. She was out of her mind. Why? Because of all the things in the world she could be doing; slamming through the Jung Mansion telling Eunji and Chorong of her little interaction with Myungsoo, finding Myungsoo and asking him what the hell was going on, jumping in a car and skipping town as soon as possible, stepping in bed praying this was all a dream, but no she was here. Her mother and father's graves.

She had came to the conclusion that she no longer had any control over her actions. It was all up to her heart and where it wanted to be. And right now, it wanted to feel normal. It wanted to feel the light breeze of the wind glazing across her skin as she swung on a swing, going higher and higher. It wanted to feel the sand tinkling under her toes as she figured out how not to kill her sand castle. She wanted to feel anything but pain, confusion, curious.

Sadly that was all she felt right now.

"So what do I do now?" She muttered under her breath hoping for some unknown reason the answer as unlikely as it sounded would pop up through thin air and float towards her. Her fear had magically left her soul, zapping out of her system for the time being. Her eyes scanned the sky for a moment sorting her thoughts before deciding what to do.

"Start with this." She finally decided. Grabbing the book out from her bag she stared at it.

It seemed completely normal. Just like any other book in the world. Finding the mastery slowly to open the book revealing the front page. The book had changed. She was sure of it, it wasn't the same book she had when she was reading it in the library. The story about the folk tale of the three original families was gone, the picture that caught her off guard. All gone.

Replaced by what she could only assumed were....spells. Flipping through the pages her brows tightened together. Writing in Latin and spells of sorts spilled out to her.

Flipping to a random page her eyes scanned through the page. A list of names were written. Eighteen names to be exact. All crossed out, all accept three. Nam Woohyun. Lee Howon. Kim Myungsoo.

Flipping to the next page the words of what looked like a spell was written down. Strange ciphers and ancient symbols were shown.

Slamming the book close fell open.

"What the hell are you?" The words left her lips praying that for once he would give her an expectable answer. No more games, no more walking around the brush. She wanted a clean clear answer. She needed one.

Myungsoo stood frozen in place. Through her back was turn away from him he knew she knew he was there. He took another silent step towards her. She didn't move, not one inch. She was frozen in her place, from shock, fear, who knew.

"Naeun-ah..." He finally spoke. Another step. Quick. Silent. Still, no movement from the girl.

"I saw a picture. In the book. You, Woohyun and Hoya....It was taken over 70 years ago. I know. I'm crazy right? Yeah, I've been telling myself that all morning. And it's not here anymore. It's like this is a completely different book, but that's impossible. Things like this don't happen" He was taken back. His lips refusing to form no words. She was struggling to know the truth. The truth was more than she could take through. At least right now it was. It was a secret he had kept for 400 years. His brain had learned to function itself so he couldn't rather he wanted to or not to reveal his greatest secret.

"Chorong told me of a story. She claims it was a folk tale that was told to children to scare them....48 hours ago I would say the same.....Now....now, I'm just confused. Nothing makes sense. You do not make sense. You're.....you're not human, are you?"

Naeun felt the wind blew across her skin. In a flash of an instance Myungsoo was face to face with her. His face was so close to hers she could feel his breathing. He stared at her with his intense glare. She felt like she was in a trance, unable to break eye-contract. His eyes would always bring out the curiosity in her.

"If I am not human, what am I then?" He asked tilting his head slightly. She did not respond. "Hm, what am I then?" He repeated.

"....I...I don't know." She whispered breaking eye contract letting her eyes fall towards her lap.

"Yes you do."

Naeun found the courage to look up meeting his eyes again. They were bored, but full of curiosity. Mysterious, secretive, guarded, just like him. What scared her the most was that they glowed pure black.

Usually she would had scream and ran. But in this one her body refused to move. Her eyes staring into his, she wasn't scare, she wasn't going to run. Something inside told her she could never run from him. She could never escape from him.

"You're a vampire." She answered. His reaction was another one of his trademark smirks.

"You're going to wake up at home. None of this happened. You never saw me, you never talked to me." He spoke in a deep husky voice ordering her to his will. Naeun found herself nodding to his order. Her mind had given up on her. Nothing made sense. All was gone. Logic, truth, her sanity.

She felt a pair of warm arms grabbing her by her waist. Lifting her up from the ground she was sitting on. His arms were warm but strong, if she could she would freeze time forever just to let the moment lasts forever.

In a blink of an eye she stood on the footsteps of her house. Her eyes against her own will daring to close.

Deep inside a small voice screamed out to her. Ordering her to stay awake. Ordering her to get some answers from Myungsoo. That voice however was really soon shut off by a greater force.
--

"Yah! Idiot. Get up." The warm familiar voice called out to her. Her eyes slowly allowed the light coming from the rising sun to soak in. Her skin feeling the cold air's touch as her blanket was removed from her body. Uncurling her body she lifted her eyes open.

"Son Naeun, get up." The voice ordered in a kiddish way. Allowing the morning blur to settle in the faces of Eunji and Chorong stared at her.

"Where the hell am I?" She asked in pure stupidity. Chorong couldn't help but laugh at her remark.

"Home stupid. In your bed."

"Come on, get up. We're going to go to the diner for breakfast. We're going to eat there before we head to school together." Eunji revealed. Still half-asleep Naeun nodded.

Getting out of bed she excused herself finding her way to her bathroom but not before grabbing a random pair of jeans and a shirt to change into. She must've been to tired last night she didn't even take off her clothes. Even with the door closed she could hear Chorong and Eunji's voice.

"Hey, why didn't you tell us you came back yesterday. We thought you were coming back to Eunji's place. If your aunt hadn't arrived home and told us there would had been a search team looking for you." She could clearly hear Chorong's voice. Naeun's body froze in her spot.

She couldn't remember coming home yesterday. She couldn't even remember climbing into her own bed. The last memories she had was waving good bye to Eunji and Chorong as she made her way to visit her parents.

"Naeun. You done?" Eunji's soft voice called out to her.

Opening the door open she felt two pair of eyes stare at her. "You okay?" Eunji asked. Naeun found herself nodding.

"Hey. I know you freaked out about what happened yesterday, let's just let it go. It was a crazy day." Eunji assured. Naeun nodded, knowing her friend was right.

"Relax Naeun. It's all settled now. Let's just go out to breakfast, and you can catch us up on why you were all 'I'm going crazy' from yesterday." Chorong nodded in agreement. Grabbing her bookbag on the seat of her desk chair she spun it across her back. But not before taking a quick peek inside. Still, just like the day before the book was still inside.
--

Myungsoo's eyes followed her as she entered the diner. Finding a window seat she lost herself in her conversation. His eyes stayed glued on her. Surely she remembered nothing about yesterday. he made sure of it.

A part of him regretted it. A part of him regretted erasing her memories, the selfish part of him regretted it.

Looking down towards his barely eaten food he leaned back in the chair. Today was supposed to be a normal day, compared to yesterday at least. A typical school day for an average teenage kid. In reality Myungsoo was far from the average teenage kid. A: He was 400 years old. B: He was technically dead. C: He had been in high school for at least fifty times.

"If you stare any longer someone will start assuming you're a stalker." Hoya's voice brought him back to reality.

"I wasn't staring." He defended himself. Hoya rolled his eyes.

"I'm sure she doesn't remember. Well at least for now. Then again, your mind control technic is lacking in some parts." Hoya revealed honestly. Myungsoo had explained everything to Hoya. Hoya didn't say anything, he just shrugged the thought off. Truth was Hoya knew of Myungsoo's little crush on a certain Son daughter, even if Myungsoo himself refused to admit it.

"My technic is lacking?" Myungsoo asked. Hoya shrugged his shoulders. "

Don't worry man, just give it another century and it'll be close to perfect." Hoya teased. Myungsoo growl kicking Hoya. It was moments like this when both of them felt human. Yes, it was their own strange sense of humor, but it made them feel like they weren't the monsters many believed they were.

Both their eyes flew straight to the door as a figure stepped in. Instantly spotting the two boys. They weren't the only ones who had eyes on Woohyun through. From her seat Chorong's eyes went straight towards the door as he stepped in.

The same cocky confidence intact like before. This time her body felt a dark aura floating around him. She couldn't explain it, but it scared her as much as it intrigued her. Naeun and Eunji must've noticed that her eyes were locked on a certain somebody as both turned around.

Following Chorong's eyes they found Woohyun making his way towards Myungsoo and Hoya.

"You're staring. It's creepy." Naeun told out in all honestly. Eunji nodded in agreement.

"I don't trust them. Any of them." Chorong revealed. She couldn't explain it. Two days ago she was more than welling to be friends with them. But that was two days ago and today was today.

She was bothered by how much could change in such a short amount of time. Time didn't make sense to her. She felt cheated by it sometimes. Through Chorong understood it well. Time was time, it kept to it's constant pace, it had a pattern that it followed. One that all must followed. And when their time ran out, so did they. It was basic nature.

"Naeun when did you take the book out?" Eunji's voice brought both Naeun and Chorong's eyes back to the table. Naeun's eye widen as she looked down at her bag. The book that had been in their a moment ago was now on the table.

"I....I didn't take it out." Naeun stumbled on her words. Eunji and Chorong glared at her.

"Okay. So the book grew legs and walked out of your bag....Yep. Just another Monday morning." Chorong teased trying to lighten up the mood that had suddenly formed around the three.

"This thing is really freaking me out." Eunji growled. Grabbing the book she opened it and began flipping indecisively through the pages, paying the least attention to what was actually written in the pages.

"Here, let me see it." Chorong asked. For some odd reason Naeun's mind refused to let Chorong hold, or even touch the book. "You should keep the book away from Chorong, it's not good for her to be around it."

"No." Naeun ordered. Eunji and Chorong stared at her dumbfounded but her sudden order. She had no idea where the words came from but something told her not to let Chorong touch the book.

"Here. Take it. We have to go anyways. Classes start soon." Eunji reminded handing Naeun the book. Naeun quickly grabbed the book stuffing it in her bag.
Standing up from her seat she followed Eunji's lead. Chorong stood up from her seat. her body froze in spot however when her eyes beamed black again.
Flashes, images of creatures...monsters....humans flickered through her mind. It was the same dead flowers piled by dead bodies. The same fire that she could feel touch her skin burning her from inside out.

A village, something was familiar about it but the image of the village quickly flashed out of her mind. Symbols, signs, numbers. Random shapes and objects flashed through her mind. One symbol however stood out.

She had seen it somewhere. And she knew where.

"Chorongie." The soft voice brought her mind. Her eyes cleared up her head spun through, but at least she could see. Her knees giving up and stumbling causing her to fall back into her seat. She leaned against the table for support as her forehead hit against the table.

"Is she okay?" A deep husky voice asked. Chorong knew the owner of the voice, she didn't even have to look up. Nam Woohyun.

"Hey, you okay?" Eunji asked kneeling down so she could see Chorong's face. She had gone pale and looked awfully tired.

"I'm fine. I think I'm just getting sick." The girl replied.

Three pair of eyes stared from one to another. Through the girls were oblivious to this, they knew. Hoya chuckled under his breath as his eyes followed the three girls.

"She's completely clueless." He mumbled.

"Completely." Myungsoo nodded in agreement.

"That's a good thing. Hate to break it to you guys but me and witches don't exactly match well together. I'd been set on fire, stoned, and tortured by one or two of them before." Woohyun commented. Hoya and Myungsoo broke out in laughs as old memories flooded their minds.
--

So after an extremely backwards morning Naeun decided she would continue her day not thinking about the events of the pass few days. Slamming her locker shut she walked over to her next class. History.

Throwing her bag on the desk and finding her seat her mind drifted off again. Into the sky it fell, the cloudless open sky with so many miles on miles, endless and mysterious. She wondered how many secret the sky heard, how much knowledge was intact in something so wide and boundless.

The shifting of the chair next to her brought her back into the classroom. His eyes stared straight towards the board. Numerous eyes from their classmates fell onto him. Through he wasn't looking, he could tell Naeun was staring at him with those doe-like eyes.

"How was your sleep?" He asked out in randomness looking at Naeun. She blushed a light tint of pink, he couldn't help but think that she couldn't be any cuter. "You're going to wake up at home. This will all seem like a dream. None of this happened."

A certain voice quoted through her mind. "Fine. It was fine." She reply with uncertainly. She could not even remember stepping into bed the following night yet alone know how she slept.

He nodded turning his attention back towards the board. Myungsoo had to make sure she didn't remember anything. She knew too much, she had too many of the puzzle pieces and sooner or later she would be able to reassemble the whole picture together.

"Myungsoo-shi." She asked in a bare whisper. He slowly turned his attention towards her. She bit her bottom lip before continuing.

"Where did you get that ring?" She wondered. He looked down towards his ring. He clamored before deciding to answer her honestly.

"Old family ring. Inherited it from my grandfather." He rebutted. She nodded. The ring was unique to say the least. One that stood out. The symbol on the ring stood out. She had seen the symbol before. She had seen it in the book. Staring from the ring to Myungsoo's face, a dark gleam of darkness flashed in his eyes.

She could had sworn she saw his eyes flashed pure black. She had seen Woohyun's eyes like this, but something about Myungsoo's scared her. Cold. Stern. Emotionless. It was like to cut off all emotion and feelings.

"You shouldn't start digging too much. It will only lead you into danger." She spoke in that deep husky voice that made her insides do back flips.

Forcing her head to turn her attention off him she looked down on her notebook. Yes, she knew she was walking into danger. She knew really well. But that didn't mean she was going to give up.
