Minho’s POV

 

“Here’s the list of medicines she should take daily.” The doctor handed me a paper.

“And if she gets severe headaches, bring her here right away.”

 

“Ne, Dr. Kim” I bowed and entered Yuri’s room.

Yuri’s being discharged from the hospital.

She seemed to have healed quickly; well she is a genie after all.

 

“I can’t wait to go home!” Yuri squealed in excitement.

Umma’s getting the house ready for Yuri’s return.

“Neither can I!” I smiled while driving.

 

“OMO!” Yuri gasped and covered as she looked around the house.

Almost the whole SM artists were there and there were balloons and tons of food.

“This is all for me?” she asked. “Ne.” I smiled.

To my surprise she quickly hugged me.

The crowd went “Awwwwww!”

I cleared my throat and patted her back.

 

I miss her hugs.

I know that we don’t get to hug or even talk often, but when we do it’s like time slows down.

“Let the party begin!” Leeteuk hyung screamed and everyone clapped.

Yuri giggled as everyone went to see how she was.

 

I went to the kitchen to help umma.

“She’s so happy.” She smiled as she glanced at Yuri.

I nodded and stared as well.

“Just tell her you like her!” Umma nudged me.

“BWOH! Umma you know we don’t have that kind of a relationship, she’s just like my sister.”

“Sister my !” She rolled her eyes.

“I know when I see love, and I also know the difference between sibling love and romantic love. And son, this is definitely NOT a sibling love!” she laughed at me before walking away.

 

So let’s say it’s not sibling love, Yuri doesn’t even know what love is.

I just have to face the fact that there’s no chance between us.

 

Heck, she’s better off with Nichkhun! They both have powers and are magical.

I’m just…human.

 

~The Next Day~

 

I woke up sitting on the couch with Yuri’s head on my lap.

I rubbed my eyes and saw Umma giggling.

“Aigo, this scene is so romantic. I’m jealous!” she meronged me.

I shook my head at how childish my umma could be.

 

I slowly got up, being careful not to wake Yuri up.

“You should bond with Yuri.” Umma suggested as she started preparing breakfast.

I kept quiet, trying to think things through.

“You haven’t had quality time with each other because of all the chaos going on. I think it’s time you two get some time out and enjoy life. And you know… maybe get to know each other better?” Umma winked.

I smiled “You’re right.”

“I know I am.” She pinched my cheeks.

 

It wasn’t long until we heard Yuri yawning.

“Yul, you’re up! Are you free today?” I asked.

“Yeah, weren’t you the one who said that the SM CEO’s gave me 3 days off to recover?” She eyed me.

I awkwardly laughed, I totally forgot. “Oh yeah, ne.”

“Smooth!” Umma whispered before laughing at me.

 

“So how about we go out? We never got to go to the beach because of the… you know.” I didn’t want to bring back the Krystal incident when I left her there alone.

She smiled “I’d love to.”

“Chincha! Ok, we’ll go after lunch!” I gave my best smile then looked at Umma who was giving me a thumbs up.

 

~At the Beach~

 

“It’s so beautiful!” Yuri smiled while we sat on the sand.

Umma picked Yuri’s outfit today. She was a bit hesitant at first but she agreed.

That’s so Yuri. Always wanting to please others.

“Yeah.” I mumbled as I stared at her.

YAH! MINHO SNAP OUT OF IT! I scolded myself.

Suddenly Yuri got a call.

 

Yuri: Yoboseyo?

??: Yuri ah! It’s me Yoona!

Yuri: Oh Yoona! What’s up?

Yoona: I’m on a talk show and they wanted me to call up all the So Nyuh Shi Dae members.

Yuri: Chincha?!

Yoona: Ne, you’re on speaker!

Yuri: Oh, anneyeonghaseyo! So Nyuh Shi Dae Black Pearl, Yuri imida!

 

 Yuri allowed me to enter her brain so I could hear whatever Yoona was saying on the phone.

 I can tell Yuri’s panicking.

 

??: Yuri ah! This is Lee Seungi!

Yuri: Oh, anneyeong Seungi-shi!

Seungi: Anneyeong! We have a new show gag… I’m going to give you 30 seconds to answer 5 questions. Are you up for it?

 Yuri gulped and stared at me.

 

“It’s ok, I’ll help you out!” I smiled at her.

She nodded.

 

Yuri: You bet!

Seungi: Let’s begin! What’s your favourite colour?

“BLUE!” I was communicating with her through our brain.

Yuri: Blue

 

Seungi: Favourite food?

“RAMYUN!”

Yuri: Ramyun

 

Seungi: Favourite drama?

“My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho!”

Yuri: My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho!

Seungi: Chincha? Gomawo! Hehe. You never leave your house without?

“YOUR PHONE!"

Yuri: My phone!

 

Seungi: Who is your bestfriend?

Before I could yell out YOONA, Yuri beat me to it.

Yuri: MINHO!

Yoona: BWO! I THOUGHT I WAS YOUR BESTFRIEND!

Yuri: Mianhe!

Seungi: *laughing* Well you managed to answer 5 questions in 30 seconds! Congratulations!

Yuri: Gamsamhamnida!

Seungi: I’ll give Yoona your price for now since you’re the only one who managed to answer those questions that quickly.

Yuri: Ne… Anneyeong!

Seungi: Anneyeong!

 

She closed her phone then stared at me.

“WOW, you’re fast at making things up!” she meronged.

I stared at her seriously “I didn’t make those things up.”

“Bwoh? Then how did you know all those facts? I never told you any of them.” She gasped.

“Well when we went shopping for the first time you were always picking out blue coloured clothes. And when I gave you your phone, I gave you a pink, yellow and blue cover and you always kept the blue cover on.” I explained.

“And whenever we’re eating you always eat the ramyun first then eat the other food when you’re not full yet.” I continued.

“And you never bring a bag whenever you go out, you only have your phone. You don’t even bring money!” I slightly laughed.

“And I always catch you watching and talking about My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho.” I smiled once I finished.

 

“You know me better than I do.” She spoke softly.

I could feel my cheeks heating up. As a matter of fact, I did.

“YOU’RE THE BEST, BESTFRIEND EVER!” She threw her arms around me.

 

DUG.DUG.DUG.DUG.

 

I couldn’t tell whose heartbeat I was feeling.

Hers or mine. But whoever it is, it sure calms me down.

 

Yuri’s POV

 

I can’t believe Minho noticed even the smallest details.

I’m really touched.

So I hugged him.

I could feel our heartbeat. Beating at the same time.

We stayed like that for a while but then I pulled away remembering what Krystal would feel if she saw us like this.

 

Minho cleared his throat and smiled.

I didn’t want to let go. But I had to. If only we could have stay like that forever.

 

I don’t know why but whenever I’m with him, thoughts like this and unexplainable emotions fills me up. I can’t stop it… Well I don’t want to stop it.

 

“Are you hungry?” he asked.

 I nodded “Good, cause I brought us some snacks!” He opened the basket he was holding from before and there was ramyun.

“I asked Umma to prepare it for us. Luckily, it didn’t spill and it’s still hot!” he smiled and took a sip.

I did too. I wish I could always do this with him.

 

Just sitting down, with no one bothering us. But I can’t.

I can never will, because I’m a genie.

My world is so different from his. My world is not peaceful at all.

Sometimes I wish that I was born as a normal person.

So I could have a normal life, but I can’t so I have to accept how things are.

 

“I wonder where my dad is.” Minho whispered.

I stared at him but kept my mouth shut.

“He left me and my umma alone. I think he hates us.” His voice was starting to get shaky.

“I mean if he loved us, he would have stayed with us so we could be a happy and complete family. But he didn’t. Appa wanted nothing to do with us.” Minho gulped and looked down to the sand.

“I know what he did was hurtful, but I can’t hate him, even though I try. I can’t!” A tear started flowing down his cheeks.

 

I have never seen him cry before and it hurts my heart.

“Your appa doesn’t hate you Minho. He loves you.” I started off.

I could hear Minho sniffing.

I continued to stare at him “Why do you even want to hate him? It’s good that you don’t.”

Minho then stared back at me, with his eyes red and cheeks soaked with tears.

“I’m sure your appa has a good reason for leaving you.” I patted his back.

“I want to find him, so he could answer all my questions.” He mumbled.

 

 

“Is that a wish I hear?” I tried to make him smiled.

Minho stared at me and smiled a bit. “As a matter of fact it is.”

 

“My beautiful genie, I wish I could find where my father is.” He smiled.

I giggled; did he just call me beautiful?

I played along and threw my hair back before granting his wish.

 

Minho and I found ourselves on a village at the squatter area.

Before I realized it Minho was holding my hand.

 

DUG.DUG.DUG.DUG.

 

I could feel my heart beating loudly. I just hope he can’t hear it.

 

I looked at Minho’s face.

He looks really scared.

I gripped his hands tighter “Are you ready?” I asked.

Minho nodded. "Stay close." he warned. 

"Arasso." I obeyed.

 

We started walking around the village when a man bumped into us.

Minho quickly hid me behind his back, I didn’t know why.

“Mianhe.” The man smiled weakly. He was too old but he wasn’t too young either.

He looked really fragile, and really weak.

“It’s ok.” I smiled and stood next to Minho again.

I could feel Minho’s grip tightening.

 

“You’re not from here are you?” the man asked.

Minho kept a stern face.

“Good job boy. This place is dangerous, you better protect your girl well.” The man looked around suspiciously.

“I’m not his gi-“ before I could finish Minho butted in.

 

“Were looking for someone.” Minho finally spoke up.

“Who is it that you’re looking for then?”

“Minwoo.”

The man stared at us. “Why is that you want to see him?”

“Personal matters.” Minho spat out. “So do you know where he is or not?”

Why was Minho being so rude?

“Choi Minwoo?” the man asked.

“Ne.” Minho nodded.

 

“You’re looking right at him.” The man smiled.

Minho’s eyes got bigger, as if it wasn’t big enough already.

I gasped.
