“Dad ! I’m here .” Changmin held his father’s shoulder. Taeyeon had returned from the surgical ward hours ago in a state of unconsciousness, but suddenly he flailed his arm frantically while mumbling something incoherent.

When Changmin held his shoulder, Taeyeon slowly calmed himself down. After a while, he opened his eyes and found his son staring at him closely.

“What are you doing ?” Taeyeon poked Changmin’s cheek softly.

“You were being insane, Dad.”

“What did I do ?”

“You flailed your arms like this, as if you’re reaching something. Was that something bothering you ?” Changmin imitated what Taeyeon did earlier.

“Ah, nothing.”

“Really ?”

“Yeah, seriously.”

Changmin decided not to dig any further, though he knew that it’s something that related to his mom.

“Alright, are you hungry ?”

“I am ! What’s there to eat ?” Taeyeon rubbed his palms, he’s excited to eat since the doctor had told him to fast for six hours before the surgery, so he hadn’t eat anything.

“Too bad, all you can eat is just mineral water for now.”

“What ? But nothing has entered my tummy today ! And mineral water isn’t something to eat, it’s something to drink.”

“Doctor said it to me.”

“Ah, seriously. It’s better for me to just wait and eat later.”

“But you need to drink.”

Taeyeon took a look at his son, Changmin was staring at him with a demanding stare. After a few minutes of staring battle, he decided to follow what his son said.

“Alright, alright. I’ll drink this. Son, you need to relax. Geez, how could you have that kind of stare ? Scary.”

Taeyeon had finished the mineral water and now he’s laying down comfortably on the bed while watching TV. Changmin was out to buy some snacks for them, since the doctor had told that Taeyeon now could eat.

Taeyeon was waiting for the football match on TV that he’s going to watch with Changmin when someone knocked on his door.

“Yeah ? Come in.”

A little boy with a bowl cut ran to him. “Grandpa !” And hugged his arm tightly. “I’ve been waiting for this moment, hehe.” The boy grinned sheepishly.

Taeyeon smiled awkwardly to the boy though he thought that the kid had some features that was so similar to his. “Where’s your mom ? I don’t think-“

“Daddy !”
