Foreword
I flipped to the Korean channel in high hopes that I would automatically learn how to speak fluently for my trip to Seoul. “Ah, I see, well do you have anything you’d like to say to her if she’s watching this station right now?” the commentator asked. The screen was zoomed on Mblaq, my favorite group. I puckered my lips in curiosity. What did they just talk about first? Was it a special girl one of them liked? A close friend? Thank god there were English subtitles. The camera focused on Thunder first. “Ah, if you’re out there, I just want to say I miss you very much! I remember how you’d follow me wherever I went, because you were afraid of getting lost. I hope you’re doing well. Continue to smile.” He gave a stuck his tongue out and waved bye. Next was Seungho . “Haha, I hope you’re really watching this. I know you may have forgotten us and your korean, but as long as you love us still that is all that matters. Show me that smile you always had.” Seungho bowed and smiled widely before the camera went to Mir. “YAHHH!! dongsaengyeo! I was your most favorite! When we meet again I expect to still be your favorite! Your smile was the best! " Mir gave a huge grin and waved frantically at the cameras. Joon gave a playful scowl and winked at the camera. "Yah, just be well okay? Smile for me again." he simply said wiping his right eye from a bittersweet tear. Lastly G.O gave his dimpley smile. It looked as if he was trying to look his best. He sat up straight and looked straight at the camera with the same smile for a few seconds. "When we see each other again I'll make you tea so you can give another warm smile." was all he said before laughing at his own comment. The commentator gave a quick laugh. "We'll see you again lovely fans next week with more Kpop and groups to be featured . This is all the time we have, annyeong!~". I shut off the television with a small frown of interest and curiosity. What was all of that? I shrugged it all off and continued to stuff every clothing I found suitable for Korea into my carry on luggage. "They sure did talk a lot about her smile though." I mumbled to myself.
