Suyeon runs into the apartment, with me right behind her. As we skid to a stop just inside the door, I see Rina, Elly, Doyeon, and Yoojung clustered together on the couch, intently discussing something, but far too quietly for me to hear. Lucy and Sei are nowhere to be seen. Suyeon breathes a sight of relief. “Okay,” she says, "it looks like we got here before Lucy caused any drama." I nod as I finish slipping off my shoes. "Let's go see if they're in my room." As we walk into my room, Suyeon stops short. I stop short to keep from running into her. When I look around her, I see Lucy and Sei sitting on the bed making out, so intent on each other that they haven’t even noticed we’ve walked into the room. I’ve got to admit — it’s pretty hot. Suyeon crosses her arms. "Well," she says, "it looks like someone made some assumptions about how their girlfriends were going to react to suggestions of polyamory." Lucy and Sei jump, startled, moving apart from each other and looking up at us. Lucy puts on her best "innocent maknae" face as she looks up at Suyeon. "But were we wrong?" she asks, smiling . Suyeon sits down on the edge of the bed next to Lucy and kisses her on the cheek. "No, you weren't,” she says, pausing dramatically before adding “this time." She looks at Sei, then back at Lucy. "But if you try assuming things like that with Doyeon and Yoojung - or even worse, with Elly and Rina - it could cause all kinds of drama." Lucy looks so happy, though apparently she’s completely overlooked most of what Suyeon said. She bounces from side to side, doing a little seated happy dance. "I knew we'd get you and Sei on board!" she exclaims. I smile at her — I can’t help it. She’s just so sweet, and this has made her so happy. "Yes, you've got your OT4," I say. I sat down on the other side of the bed and put my arm around Sei. "But Doyeon and Yoojung are going to be harder to get on board." Suyeon nods. "And Rina and Elly are probably going to be impossible." Lucy just stops, mid-dance, her smile falling from her face. She looked from Suyeon to me and back again. "So you're all giving up?” she asks. “But. . . but we can do this! Remember: We're eight girls who hold keys to open up a new world!" Leave it to Lucy to find an argument for what she wants in the official Weki Meki mythology. Suyeon nods. "We are. But we're also eight girls who have keys that recognize each other. And part of that means recognizing the differences in our personalities." And leave it to Suyeon to find a way to turn it right back around on her. "So that's it?" Lucy sputters. 'We're just giving up?" Suyeon and I both nod. Lucy turns to Sei, hoping to find someone who’ll support her in this. "You too, Sei? Are you just giving up?" Sei shrugs. "I don't want any more drama,” she says quietly. “If we stop where we are right now, things are good, and there's no new drama." Lucy frowns and pouts. "I can't believe you'd all give up like that, just because things are getting a little difficult." She stand up, about to storm out of the room, but before she can move, Suyeon grabs her, pulls her down into her lap, and starts covering her with kisses. She struggles at first, then gives in and starts returning Suyeon's kisses. I watch as she nips at the Suyeon's bottom lip then wraps her arms around her and sl
