I wake up and roll over. Rina’s already up, so I’ve got the room to myself for a moment. I reach inside my pillowcase and make sure that the papers I stashed under my pillow are there. I breathe a sigh of relief that they are, which turns into a generalized sigh of gratitude that it’s today, which means yesterday is finally over. Yesterday! Yesterday was the longest day in the history of days. Nonstop promos from early morning to late at night, which meant spending all our waking hours with our “fan ship.” Which meant spending all day with Suyeon! And she persisted in trying to be nice and friendly and everything, and from time to time I’d fall for it, until I’d remember that I was mad at her. And the worst thing was the long bus ride back from that TV station. We fell asleep, and then at some point we fell over onto each other, and when Doyeon woke us up because we were back at the dorm, we were all snuggled up, with our arms around each other. And what pissed me off the most about it was that it was kind of nice! But that was yesterday, and yesterday’s gone. Today’s a much lighter schedule. We’ve got dance practice, then some of us have lessons — not me this time, thank God — and then a TV appearance this evening. I get up and wander out of my room to get some kitchen, coincidentally coming out just as Lua came out of her room. We get our breakfasts and have just sat down to eat when Suyeon see us. “Come on everyone!” Suyeon calls out. “Come over to the kitchen table so we can roll up today’s ships!” So much for getting to have a quiet breakfast with Lua before the day begins. Almost immediately, everyone’s crowded around us and everyone starts rolling up the day’s ships. This time it’s Yoojung and Sei again, Suyeon and Lua, Elly and Doyeon, and me and Rina.
