SEI: If you need any confirmation that Lucy is the entire reason we’re having this meeting, the way it dissolves almost immediately after she left should tell you everything you need to know. Lucy storms off, then Lua follows after her, then Rina and Elly get up and leave the apartment. Yoojung opens her book and starts reading. Doyeon tries to get Yoojung’s attention for a few minutes, and when that doesn’t work, she leaves the apartment too. So that leaves Yoojung sitting on the couch reading, Suyeon sitting in her chair, and me sitting on the arm of Suyeon’s chair. Suddenly I yelp in suprise when Suyeon pulls me off the arm of the chair and into her lap. She puts her hand on my stomach, then leans in to whisper something in my ear. Only she doesn’t - instead, at the last second she nibbles on my ear instead. This makes me giggle. I’m not normally a giggler, but Suyeon brings out that side of me. Suddenly I notice that Yoojung is staring at us, then she gets up and takes her books into her room, shutting the door behind herself. “Well, looks like we’ve got the living room all to ourselves,” Suyeon says. This whole day has been really hard for her. Hopefully she’ll start feeling more positive about things soon. I reach up and the side of her face. “Don’t worry, sweetie,” I say, looking into her eyes. “The members will get used to us soon.” She lays her head on my shoulder and says “I hope so.” She wraps her arms around me and rocks me back and forth. “I’m so happy with you.” I look into deeper into her eyes. “Really? With everything that happening, you’re happy to be with me?” Given all the drama, I wouldn’t blame her if she wanted to bail. I wouldn’t like it, but I’d certainly understand. Suyeon leans forward and kisses me on the nose. “Really. Even with everything. I’m happy to be with you. I’ve been dreaming of this for months. I twist around in her lap so I can wrap my arms around her and hold her tightly. ‘That makes me so happy to hear,” I say. LUA: I walk into Lucy’s room to find her lying on her bed, as if she’d just walked in and flopped down. She looked up as she heard me come in. “Oh, hey,” she says. “What’s up?” Once I had shut the door behind myself, I come and sat down on the bed next to her. “I wanted to come check on you,” I say. “You didn’t seem like you should be alone right now.” “I’m okay. Just a little frustrated,” Lucy says as she brushed her hair out of her face. “Well, okay, more than a little.” From what we had seen when she stormed off, and from what I’m seeing right now, “a little frustrated,” or even “more than a little frustrated,” was a definite understatement of Lucy’s mood. I pick up a strand of hair that was still hanging in her face and tuck it behind her ear. “Do you want some company?” She nods, her frustration and disappointment written all over her face. She sits up and leans against me, resting her head on my shoulder, and just sits there quietly. I wait patiently, sure that she’ll talk when she’s ready. “I’m just so frustrated!” she finally says. “It’s like Suyeon gets everything! She gets Sei, she gets to be the leader — and nothing bad happens to her because what she did! What’s wrong with me?” I p
