LUCY: When I let myself into Sei and Lua's room, I see that Sei’s pacing back and forth across the room, muttering to herself. I know “You’re beautiful when you’re angry” is often used to diminish women, but I can’t help thinking it about Sei. She feels her anger so intensely, but at the same time, she’s so unthreatening that the effect is kind of incongruous. I just stand there for a moment, watching her work off her rage and listening to her mumbling. "As if I can be stolen. . . . so insulting. . . . Who does Rina think she is? . . . Thinks she's so much better than us. . . . Grrrrrrrr! . . ." I wait until one of the gaps between her mutterings to say "We'll just have to show her what's what, won't we?" Sei stops short, apparently just then noticing that there was someone else in the room with her. The effect is so cute I just want to grab her up! She just stands there looking at me for a second, then says "Oh! Umm, hi Lucy. What was that you were saying?" I sit down on her bed and recline, doing my best to look casual but y. "I was just saying we'd show Rina what's what, you know. By us being happy over here while she's still freaking out every time anyone so much as breathes in Elly's direction." "And what does that have to do with us?" "You know," I say. I examine my fingernails for a moment, letting the words just hang there for a second. Then I look at up her and say "At least, I think you do. Do you know where Suyeon is right now?" Sei shrugs, apparently confused by the sudden change of topic. "Her room, I think." I shake my head. "Not unless she walked in there within the last minute or so. No, she's out for a walk in the moonlight with Lua." Sei's jaw drops. "Really? I was encouraging her to go for that!" I nod. "And I was encouraging Lua to go for it!" Sei sits down on the bed by me, obviously pondering this development and all its implications. I reach out and take her hand in mine. "Does this mean what I think it means?" she adds. I nod again. "It means," I begin, before she joins in and we finish in unison: "that if our girlfriends become girlfriends then we can be girlfriends again!" Sei throws her arms around me, wrapping me in a big hug. I hadn’t realized until this moment just how much I’ve missed her hugs. I hug her back and we collapse onto her bed, our arms around each other. DOYEON: After we finish our dinner, Yoojung and I go to the common room and turn on the TV to see what’s on the Olympics now. It turns out to be men's figure-skating. “If we have to watch a men’s event, this is one of the better ones,” Yoojung says. I lean back on the couch and she cuddles up to me. In just a few minutes there’s a commercial break, which happens to start with a Maybelline commercial starring me! Yoojung looks up at me. "I remember when you made this commercial!" Doyeon lean down and kissed her. "I still wear that lipstick, too - it doesn't kiss off!" And I kiss her again, claiming its to demonstrate the lipstick but really it’s just because I like kissing her. Can you blame me? "So. . ." she says when our kiss ends, "what do we think our maknae is up to?" I put on my what Yoojung calls my “I’m thinking seriously” face — I’d never tell her this, but it’s really just my impression of her. "Well, let's see," I say. "I've got a feeling she was somehow behind Lua and Suyeon leaving dinner together tonight." Yoojung nods. "And she got me monologuing about polyamory this afternoon." "So apparently she's planning polyamory,” I say. I think for a moment and then add “The question is 'is she
