Jeti Drabbles - May Edition
Fluff, established relo, businessica, domestic-y, 800~
The radio is on again. That’s what Tiffany likes to say when really it is just her playlist. The music flows throughout their apartment, and although her speaker is in the kitchen, Tiffany can hear it clear as day as she’s cleaning the rooms.
Cleaning, she likes to say, when Tiffany is just digging through old boxes and memorabilia. She sets a couple of boxes aside, eager to look through them later. Perhaps after she’s actually done some cleaning.
Or maybe, actually, when Jessica comes home.
She hears the door click open, followed by an almost immediate “I’m home”. Tiffany pushes herself up from the floor and peeks her head out of the bedroom door to greet Jessica. No matter how tired Jessica is, she always lets Tiffany know that she’s back in that way, a habit she’s had ever since Tiffany’s known her.
“Welcome back,” she says with a grin on her face, and she sees Jessica return a shy small one back.
Jessica places her handbag onto the floor next to the table in the living room, running a hand through her hair as she always does after a long day.
“Busy?” Tiffany asks as she notices the action.
“No, not anymore,” comes Jessica’s response. “It was a long meeting, but we came to agreements so we’ll officiate the contract in a couple of days.” There’s a pause and her next words are filled with delayed delight. “Finally, the team can enjoy ourselves and a celebration!”
She breaks out into a smile adorned with pride, the fruits of her and her team’s hard work over the past few weeks having grown beautifully.
Tiffany can’t help but feel the joy radiating from Jessica, even if it’s subtle and seemed like very little. She isn’t one for showy happiness, and Tiffany knows that even if it’s just from the lift in the tone or the toothy smile on her face, Jessica is delighted.
