EYES FOR YOU

 

I sat down next to my best friend, Kim Hyeri in class just like any other day, any other time, any other place. I was always by her side and she was by mine. We've been the best friends since we were kids. We grew up together, played together, studied together and went everywhere together. We are practically inseparable. Nothing has ever been between us. Even if something did, we would work things out and keep our friendship strong. We know each other like the back of our hands. Our likes, Our dislikes. I know everything i needed to know about her. But there was this one thing that i could never understand. No matter how hard i think about it, i never found a proper answer for it. How does she turn to be so beautiful? She's a real beauty especially when she dolls up for a special occasion. Guys would flock to her and start flirting. I would, of course, be by her side but it was awkward knowing the guys were there because of her instead of me and there i was also conversing with them. She knows what suits her. The way she dresses also brings out the best of her, but we always go shopping together. The way she puts on make-up never fails to make her look gorgeous, but we've never talked about make-up before. 

She started dressing up prettily when we first entered High School, when we were exposed to this term called 'puberty'. The late-night parties started coming to life. We got invited to countless of awesome parties but i always though  that i was invited only because of my best friend. She always insisted that i would have to be there with her. I appreciate that our friendship is still standing strong, but at times like these....i feel distant. I wasn't anywhere near her beauty. I was a rather normal type of girl. I rarely wore make up and i wear simple casual clothing. I prefer hooded shirts and sneakers to pretty blouses and killer heels. I have chestnut brown wavy hair and perfect eyesight but i felt the urge to spoil my eyesight when i saw my best friend looking so perfect in glasses when she needed them to read. Plus, she's outspoken and popular among everyone. She can talk to everyone in the whole world and make them her friends. 

The whole class was talking about the latest buzz and that was Teen Top's upcoming after-prom party. I was excited as always. I love parties, it's always fun with friends and it enhances friendship bonds and create new memories. The only thing that was different was it was TEENT TOP's party. Which means, only the ones that are worthy would be invited and the guest list will only be announced on the night of prom itself. I felt my toes curl just at the thought of it. 

"Yah, what are you planning to wear for the prom?" Hyeri nudged my shoulder. 

I tapped my chin as i visualized the clothes i have in my closet. "Not too sure. I don't have anything proper." 

She beamed at me and leaned in,"You know what that means..." 

I beamed back and let out a squeal," Shopping!" 

The two us burst out in fits of giggles. I get very excited whenever we're going shopping.

The two of us went to our favorite mall located somewhere near our school. It was our hang-out area. Whenever we had the free time, we would loiter around the area simply killing time. 

So we were walking in and out of different shops and looked through the variety of clothes, shoes and accessories. Trying in and out of a whole mountain of clothes was really tiring. In the end, we made a decision. Although i hate wearing dresses, i promised Hyeri that i would dress up for prom night. 

 

 

 

"Alright, we're all set! Now our treat for the hard work!" I punched my fist up and cheered. We laughed as we walked, linked arms towards the ice-cream shop at the corner of the street. We entered the small but popular shop giggling with glee. Then a voice caused us to stop. 

"Hey ladies." 

I looked up and saw Teen Top. All six of them sitting at our favorite table. I froze instantly, well it was a natural reaction for me. 

"Hey Oppa! How is the party plans going?" Hyeri dragged me to their direction. I bit my lower lip and tried to hide myself behind her. 

The boys greeted her like any other time. Hyeri is a very friendly person indeed, she knows everyone. I yet again, have to try not to do anything stupid. 

"What were you ladies doing this afternoon?" Niel smiled to her. Not me.

"Shopping! Prom is just this weekend!" She held up the shopping bags showing them. 

"Oh? Aren't girls supposed to be prepared months before the prom night?" Ricky leaned on the table and smirked at her. Not me.

"Not us! We want to wear something from the in-trends to the prom." She turned to me,"right?" 

Uneasily, i just gave her a nod. 

"Then, have you got yourselves a date?" CAP asked directly at her and NOT looking at me.

She shook her head, "The two of us are just going by ourselves. No boys allowed." 

A smile tugged on my lips as i gazed at her. *That's why you're my best friend*

"Well then pretty ladies, i'm always available. I'm a phone call away." L.Joe winked....at me. Wait what?! My eyes widened as he smirked at me. AT ME. I turned to look at my best friend but she was simply smiling. 

"Well then, we'll get going now. See you around Oppas" She waved goodbye and pulled me along. I fidgeted a little knowing that i could see L.Joe's gaze still on me from the corner of my eyes. 

Hyeri and I went up to the counter and ordered our usual all-time favorite ice-creams in a cup. Hyeri was busy conversing with the boy behind the counter while i was still feeling all weird and awkward. Uneasily, i tried to take a small peek at them Teen Top boys. I shifted myself slightly and turned my head a little to get a small view of the boys but then Hyeri caught me. 

"Hoho..You've got a crush on one of them?" She gave me a sly smile as she eyed me playfully. 

Immediately i exclaimed, "No i don't!" My face turned red as everyone turned to look at me, even Teen Top. I turned my back at the crowd to hide my embarrassment. Hyeri ignored the stares and softly collided her shoulder with mine. 

"Tell me who." 

I remained silent. 

"Tell meee~" She continued to pester me as she tugged on the hood of my shirt. 

I shut my eyes and mouth tight, refusing to let any information out. 

"Is it Niel? Huh? Huh?..No? Then RICKY! he's a cutie you know! Hmm, maybe not ChangJo?" She tapped her chin with her finger. 

"Gossiping about my gang i see." I heard that voice from behind us. 

"Ah, L.Joe Oppa, No we're not.. I'm just trying to figure ou-" I covered Hyeri's mouth with my hand and panicked. 

"We were not talking about you...I mean your gang..I mean..." I began to mumble. 

DING~ "Ice-cream's ready mam!" The worker rang the bell and cheered. I quickly took the two small cups and pulled Hyeri out of the shop. 

"Gotta go! Bye Oppa! See you soon!" Hyeri waved at L.Joe as she giggled. Things couldn't possibly get any embarrassing.

Evening came and the two of us were sitting in my room munching on after dinner snacks while we watched some shows on the television. Hyeri couldn't stop teasing me about my crush for L.Joe which was not true. It was just that i felt weird that he was looking at me and not my best friend. But then, i couldn't possibly be saying that to her right? I didn't want to sound dumb or harsh or anything that would embarrass myself even further. 

Hyeri couldn't stop smiling at me while I was watching the show and munching on the chips. 

"Admit it, you like him." Hyeri continued the conversation we had earlier. 

I ignored her and continued munching on the chips. 

"Come on! He's not that bad you know. I can hook you two up, it looks like he was staring at you when we were at Frosties." 

"Exactly why i was acting weird just now. He was staring at me and not you." I turned to her. 

"Why would he be staring at me when he likes you." She gave me a grin. 

"Because you're prettier than me." I pouted and poked her forehead. 

She frowned at my statement. "I'm not prettier than anyone. You're just as pretty as i am. We're friends and i don't like being better than you. If that's what you say i'm gonna start making myself uglier." 

I couldn't help but smile. *My best friend is really something, babo.*  

"I'm lucky to have you as my friend do you know that?!" I knocked her head,"And no matter what you do, you're like an angel from paradise. All perfect." 

"Oww~" She winced in pain but smiled back to me.

"Let's just watch tv please?" I pouted and she nodded eagerly before the two of use sat next to each other legs out stretched.

After that incident, Hyeri has been trying hard to hook me and L.Joe up but i told her clearly that i had no such feelings for him. "It's okay to try something new sometimes." The exact words she said to me as she pushed me into the music room one afternoon. 

SLAM! CLICK. My eyes widened in alarm and raced up to the door banging loudly onto it. 

"YA! HYERI! LET ME OUT!" I yelled as i continuously banged on the door. Then i heard Hyeri's evil laughter,"You're not going anywhere missy. Hold up, i'll be back with your surprise" and she went off laughing. Her footsteps grew distant as the seconds passed. 

"Hello? Hyeri?! Yah!" I let out a deep sigh and went deeper into the room. It was a soundproof room with no windows. It had a huge wall mirror covering the back wall and a piano at the corner of the room. I looked at myself in the mirror and frowned. My precious time with my phone was being taken away. I started to feel the pockets of my clothes looking for anything to help me get out of this room. 

*Damn i have nothing on me.* I thought as i searched my last pocket. Unknowingly my mp3 was in it. I stared at it for a while. *Guess i gotta kill time someway. Hyeri better get me out of here soon or i'm killing her tonight.* I plugged in the ear piece to each of my ears and turned my mp3 on. It's been a while since i moved my body to the beat of a music. Music started flowing out as though it was feeding my soul. I felt energized and my body naturally reacted to the beat of the music. I felt as though i was turning back time to the days where i was a dancer. My eyes were sharp to every move i made. I watched as my reflection mimicked my moves perfectly, moving in sync. It felt so real - so amazing. 

The song ended and i strike the last pose. All i heard was my heavy panting and then an applause. I followed the sound to see L.Joe. 

"You never told me you dance." His smirk was clearly teasing me. 

"How...Why are you here? WAIT, Don't tell me..."I held my hand out and let out a sigh,"Hyeri planned this didn't she?"

"Smart girl." L.Joe started to walk towards me. Instinctively, i started backing away from him. My eyes widened in alarm and my heart was pumping furiously. *Is he trying to me?!*  I was about to scream out my lungs out when he took one of the earpiece from me and plugged it into his own ear. He began nodding his head to the beat of the song that was playing. 

"Cool song." He smiled to himself. 

I didn't realize i was staring at him. He was weird, yeah, weird. That was what i would call him. He was a very weird yet good looking guy. Then he turned to look at me. His eyes met mine and i felt my stomach did a flip-flop feel. At first his gaze was cold and mysterious but then it broke into a smile that made my heart flutter. 

"I'm hot aren't i?" He cheekily grinned.  

"Mwo?!" I burst out. I was totally surprised by the cockiness in his voice. 

"I know i'm hot. You don't need to stare at me like that." He chuckled and took my mp3 from me. My jaws dropped. Was this guy being serious? 

"Oh! I love this song!" He pressed the play button and the song blasted into our ears. He started smiling like a dork while pushing some other buttons. Then his eyebrows pinched together intensely looking at my mp3. Then he pouted. 

 

*So....cute.* I thought as i admired the way his lips curled. "How do you turn up the volume of this thing?" He pushed the mp3 towards me. 

"Huh?" I blinked at him. He shook the mp3. "Oh." I took the mp3 from him and started pushing the familiar buttons. He came closer to see how it was done. His body was so close to mine that i was growing redder and redder by the minute. I quickly increased the volume and turned to give it to him but then i regretted it... 

His face was so close to me and my eyes were focused on his lips. He was standing so close to me and i dare not move a single muscle. His warm breathe started to tickle my skin. A smirk came upon those lips of his and he bent down a little to meet his eyes with mine. 

"You're prettier up-close." He whispered. I tried to hide my embarrassment by looking away but he cupped my chin and made me look at him. I squirmed under his touch. His eyes sparkled beautifully under his bangs. "Would you go with me to the Prom?" 

I felt a frog in my throat. *He's asking me to prom?* 

"B-But...I'm going with Hyeri." I choked out my words. Yet again, that playful smile was on his lips. "I'm sure Hyeri wouldn't mind, she has plans of her own..." 

"How would you know that? I'm her best friend not you." 

"Let's just say we're going as a double date." He came closer to me as I shut my eyes tight. 

"Can i......" His voice trailed off as i felt his calm breath on me, "Kiss you?" 

My head was spinning. L.Joe of Teen Top is asking me if he can kiss me?! 

"Can i?" He asked again, whispering this time. 

I kept still not wanting to move at all. I couldn't even open my eyes to face him right now. 

We stood there for what felt like hours. L.Joe was not backing away anytime soon unless i answered. I pulled myself together and the last of my courage to reply him. 

"What if i said no?" I mumbled. 

"Then, I'll take it as you don't like me." 

"But i don't." My words came out a little to fast as i opened my eyes. 

I regretted saying those words. His eyes were full of hurt. I hurt a guy's feelings. I felt his sorrow after i said that. He pulled back and smiled, a smile that I could see that he was forcing on himself. 

"I understand.. I'm sorry for putting you in such a position." He apologized, "I should be going now.."  

Guilt filled me to the brim. What should i do?!

"WAIT! L.Joe..." I grabbed the end of his shirt. I bit the bottom of my lips as i tried to think of the proper words i needed to express myself.
"Yeah?" He turned back. I looked at him, "You...You can take me to prom only if Hyeri has a date too." Right then, the sparkle in his eyes returned. 

"I'm sure she has her date." He assured me. I smiled back to him. 

"See you then okay?" He leaned down and kissed my cheek, "Dress prettily for me. I'm going now.." With that he walked out of the door after unlocking the door with the keys he had in his pocket. *He....just...I'm going to prom with him...* I felt happiness as i smiled.

Days passed after that incident and things were getting exciting in school. Everyone was buzzing around talking about dates for the prom and what to wear. Hyeri wouldn't tell me who her date was, she only told me that she'll introduce him to me on that day itself. I've been receiving a lot of attention all of a sudden since that day and i was surprised myself. I couldn't get myself to face L.Joe after all that. Every time we bump into each other in school, i would avoid him but i could see his sly smirk on his face. He knew i was blushing madly. In a blink of an eye, the day finally came. Prom night. 

"Hyeri-ah..I'm scared." I stared at the floor as she help me with my hair. The two of us were at my house getting ready. L.Joe and Hyeri's mysterious date would be picking us up in half an hour and i had butterflies in my stomach. Hyeri was all dolled up and i was only left with a little touch up here and there and i'm good to go. The thought of going somewhere with someone i barely know yet so popular was making me feel a little nausea. 

"What if he is just playing with me..." I looked at Hyeri from the mirror in front of me. 

"I'm telling you he's not. He really likes you." 

"But, i'm practically a nobody." I pouted. 

"No your not! Who told you that? You're my best friend, my awesome best friend." She giggled and applied a little hairspray on my hair, "There! DONE!"  She childishly clapped her hand and i stood up from the chair. I walked over to the mirror to look at myself. *Is this really me?* 

 

"We're both so beautiful~" Hyeri hugged my arm and smiled. 

"Yeah.." I was awe-struck. 

"Should we take pictures before the boys arrive?" She suggested and went off to grab her phone. 

*I wonder how he'll react to this...Would he like it?*

"SMILE!!" Hyeri held her phone up to capture a picture of me. I smiled at the camera and it went click. "One more! One More!! Selcaaa~ " Hyeri rushed to my side and held her phone up once more to take a picture of the two of us. The two of us smiled and held up peace signs with out fingers. The camera clicked and there was a knock at my door. 

 

"~~~~~-ah! Your date is here! And he is so charming~." My mom sang playfully causing Hyeri to laugh. 

"Omma!" I cried as i took my clutch bag from my dresser. Hyeri and I walked out of my room and down the stairs to the main entrance. As i took a step at a time, i saw L.Joe at the door. My mom was right, he's drop-dead gorgeous.

 

"~~~~-ah..." He called out to me. I looked at Hyeri who was standing beside me and she nodded. She gave me a light push towards L.Joe. I was still awkward in a dress and I couldn't look at L.Joe right in the eyes. I stopped right in front of him and refused to look at anything else other than the floor. 

"Hey..you look.....beautiful." He whispered to me. 

"Thank you.." I mumbled back. 

 

I could hear Hyeri muffling her laughter behind me. I turned around and eyed her. 

"What? You two look so cute together." She said as she wiped off her fake tears. I rolled my eyes but then smiled at her. 

"OMONA! MY DAUGHTER!" I heard my mom cry out as she approached me. 

"Omma!" I covered my face as soon i saw the camera in her hand. 

"I told you you'd look pretty in a dress! Look at you!" My mom gestured to me. 

L.Joe and Hyeri laughed. 

"Omma, stop it." I took a peek at her through my fingers

"Come let's take a picture before you go off." She held the camera up. I covered my face again. 

"Aww, You're no fun ~~~~-ah!" Hyeri came over to pry my hands off my face. 

"I HATE PICTURES!" I squirmed around. 

"Only one..i promise" L.Joe tugged on my hand and wrapped an arm around my waist. My heart fluttered and my face reddened. 

 

"Aigoo..My little princess has grown.. Look at her blushing with a boy." My mom teased. 

"She is?" L.Joe joined in as she looked at me with a grin. 

"Hell yeah she is." Hyeri crossed her arms and smiled. 

"Ok, i'm taking..1...2....3!" My mom clicked the camera but i heard two clicks. Hyeri took one with her phone. 

"YAAH!" 

"Hey, send me that picture." L.Joe took out his phone and went to Hyeri. 

"Sure, in a minute...." 

"KIM HYERI!" I shrieked. 

"I'm just kidding.." L.Joe chuckled and walked over to my mother, "Omonim, I'll be taking your daughter now." L.Joe gave my mum the sweetest smile ever. 

"Aigoo, such a charming boy. Take care of my daughter for me and pardon her if she's a little abusive, my apologies." My mum patted L.Joe lightly on the back. 

"Right.. now everyone likes L.Joe." I scoffed. 

L.Joe walked by my side and took my hand in his. 

"You'll love me too by tonight babe." He gave me a wink and led me out of the house. 

*I'm so glad we're going as a double date. At least i still have Hyeri with me..Oh wait.*

"Hyeri! Where's your date?" I twirled around but only halfway since L.Joe wouldn't let go of my hand.

"There." Hyeri giggled as she pointed to the white limousine parked in front of my house. The door opened and another gentleman stepped out. 

"Hello there beautiful." ChunJi took Hyeri's hand and kissed it. I was lost for words. 

ChunJi?! 

Hyeri was giggling and blushing all at the same time. 

"Hi Oppa." She greeted. 

"Shall we go?" ChunJi gestured to the car. Hyeri nodded a little too enthusiastically. With the help of ChunJi, Hyeri stepped into the limousine. ChunJi then turned to me. 

"Why you look gorgeous today ~~~~-ah…" ChunJi winked at me. I blushed a little. Then L.Joe hit his arm playfully, "Yah, She's mine." 

"Right." ChunJi laughed, "You guys have your own transport right?" 

"What do you think?" L.Joe smirked. 

"Ok, chill dude. I'll leave you to your date. I've got mine." ChunJi was proceeding to slide into the limousine when he turned to me again, "Bye gorgeous" He winked one last time before settling in the limousine. The door closed and it drove away. 

The night air was cold and i was waiting for L.Joe's so-called transport for us. I looked at him and he was smiling cheekily. What was in his mind? 

"Oh right, let's go. I parked my baby at the corner of the street, don't expect something glamorous though." He took my hand in his once more as he led the two of us to his 'baby'. 

 

 

"Meet my baby." He beamed proudly as he unlocked the car. I kept quiet but i had to admit it, he had a sweet ride. Like a gentleman, he opened the door for me and I went into the car. He jogged over to the driver's seat and slipped in. I was about to fasten my seat belt when L.Joe beat me to it. He reached out and pulled my seat belt for me, buckling it. 

I observed him for a moment, "You're not really trying to make me fall for you right?" 

He checked the rear mirrors, "If your saying it that way means you are falling for me right?" 

"You know what? Forget it." I pouted slightly and crossed my arms. 

L.Joe chuckled before turning on the engine and he started to drive towards the venue. 

"Stop pouting..It's driving me insane." I heard him mumble. Instantly, i bit my lips together. 

*This is going to be a long night indeed*

The night went on and on as everyone was having the time of their lives. Laughing, dancing, taking pictures, everyone was with their best friends and the people they love. I couldn't help but smile at the though. Hyeri and some others were on the dance floor dancing like there was no tomorrow. The whole hall was well decorated by the student council and volunteers. The latest up-beat music was blasting out from the speakers all around the area. Colorful streamers, balloons and lights - everything was breath taking. I kept an eye on Hyeri as I was sitting at the table drinking some weird colored fruit punch. ChunJi was now dancing with Hyeri. I wondered when the two of them even started hanging out. Suddenly i felt all weird in my middle. What if Hyeri and ChunJi ended up together? What if Hyeri spends lesser time with me? Will our friendship still last? 

"Yah..." L.Joe poked my side causing me to jerk slightly. I frowned in disapproval and glared at him. He gave me a face. 

"Why are you staring into space like that?" He asked me. He started to drag a chair closer to me and sat down. 

"I'm just...thinking." I mumbled. The loud music was starting to make my head hurt. The crowd was making me suffocate. I was feeling a little stuffy. 

*Maybe i should have some air outside..*

I shifted in my chair, getting ready to stand up when L.Joe asked me, "You want to get some fresh air. Are you feeling stuffy?" 

I looked at him for a while thinking if i should ask him to come with me. In the end, i simply nod my head. L.Joe proceeded to take my hand in his and led me out. I had to credit him for taking care of me. L.Joe opened the doors and we went to the last building. Though the scenery of an on-going construction site was not that fitting for the night, it was really a beautiful night with the dark night sky with a canopy of stars and a crescent moon. I held on the railing and inhaled the night air. L.Joe stood beside me and did the same. 

"Such a beautiful night." He whispered. I nodded. 

Then a cold gush of wind lightly brushed pass us. My hair started flowing with the wind and i squealed. I smoothed my hair back in place and that was when L.Joe curled a strand of my hair behind my ear. His eyes were fixed on mine. 

"You're beautiful too." 

I bit my lips together preventing myself to let out any weird sounds. I was blushing insanely and avert his gaze. He chuckled. "You're cute too when you're blushing." 

"Stop making me feel weird." I blurted out. 

He cocked his eyebrow, "I make you feel weird? In what way?" 

"I'm feeling all tingly inside." I pouted. Which was totally true, i was feeling these weird sensations in my body every time he does something. A satisfied look grew on his face. 

"That only means you're falling for me..." His husky voice sounded so y at that moment of time. 

"No i'm not!" I protested though my heart was yearning to say the opposite. 

"I can make you fall hard for me..If you just let me show you how i feel." 

"And how are you going to do that?" My eyebrows pinched together. 

"Like this...." His voice trailed off and slowly i was lured into his eyes. He started leaning in; closer and closer. I had difficulty breathing with him so close to me. The moon light seemed to shine on his beautiful features that i didn't noticed before and that was when i realize i was standing in front of such a handsome guy. Time seemed to have stopped. As he leaned closer, somewhat automatically my eyes started to close along with his and our lips met. His hands made its way to my little back and neck. The small innocent kiss started to turn into something more intimidating. 

I felt the whole world disappearing and L.Joe had my 100% attention. Nothing else mattered as all I could feel was his lips on mine. No one else was on my mind, not even Hyeri. It was just us two under the sparkling stars and moonlight. He had kissed me. He took my first kiss. My first. I could hardly believe it; I started wondering if it was a dream. 

Soon enough, L.Joe pulled away and leaned his forehead on mine. He searched my face for any reaction. I couldn't put how i felt in proper words so all i did was smile. He smiled back as though he knew what i was thinking and then pulled me into his embrace. I wrapped my arms around his waist as he did the same around mine. 

"I love you, ~~~~~-ah." He whispered in my ear. I inhaled his scent of strawberry as i buried my face into his chest and tightened my grip. I felt protected, i felt loved. He made me feel like i was the only one for him. I felt special. 

"Do you love me now?" L.Joe asked. I felt embarrassed. I couldn't talk. I nodded my head against his chest and he chuckled. Slowly he rested his chin on top of my head and rocked me side to side. Everything was perfect. That night was the best night....

"Where were you guys?" Hyeri smirked with her arms crossed as L.Joe and I were walking back into the hall, hand in hand. I felt my face grew hotter but luckily the moving spotlights made it unnoticeable. 

"I was just accompanying her for some fresh air." L.Joe said as he lightly squeezed my hand. Hyeri just looks at the two of us suspiciously but ChunJi came before she could dig deeper. 

"Hey babe, wanna dance?" ChunJi slung an arm around Hyeri's slender waist. 

"It’s so crowded…" Hyeri looked behind her shoulder to the dance floor. 

ChunJi pecked her nose lightly, "All the more reason to dance with you." 

"ert." Hyeri laughed as she playfully hit him and looked at me, "Shall we Dance?" 

"huh?...Uh.." I bit on my lower lip. Just then, L.Joe tugged on my arm and pulled me closer to him. 

"We're gonna ditch the party." L.Joe casually said. 

"We are?" I blinked. He nodded. 

ChunJi gave an amused smile and patted L.Joe's shoulder, "Alright then, I ain't stopping you but you're gonna miss a hell lot of fun." 

I looked at Hyeri for her reaction and some help but she just smiled and gave me an encouraging nod. "You better not do anything to her Oppa or I'll break your neck. Take care of her you hear me?!" Hyeri placed her hands on her hips and started to nag like a mother. 

"Yes Mam! I will." L.Joe gave a playful salute to Hyeri and took my hand. 

"Let's go." He said and walked towards the exit. 

I turned back to see Hyeri mouthing 'fighting' to me. I was unsure yet i still nodded. 

 

The two of us sat in the car as the silence took over. I played around with my fingers as I heard L.Joe chuckle. I turned to look at him.

“What?” I frowned.

“I told you you’d fall in love with me tonight.” He smirked.

I frowned even more, “I did not! We just k-…” I stopped feeling myself blush at the thought. Suddenly L.Joe leaned in towards me; his face close to mine.

“Kissed? If you disliked me you would’ve pushed me away…Besides, you nodded your head” L.Joe smirked.  

“W-well, I was too shocked to react to it!” I stammered. It was hard to think with him being so close.

“I’m going to kiss you now.” L.Joe suddenly said and he moved closer.

“Wha-?”

 

L.Joe’s lips landed on mine softly and he stayed there. My heart was thumping really hard against my chest. My mind wanted to push him away but my heart wouldn’t let me. L.Joe’s eyes were fixed on mine as he searched me for any reaction. He pulled away smiling broadly.

“See. You didn’t push me away.”

“That was unexpected!” I fought back.

“No~ I warned you before hand.” L.Joe sang happily.

“That’s not fair!” I pouted. L.Joe couldn’t help but smile.

He continued to tease, “So does that mean you’re mine?”

 I blushed again, “I don’t know.”

“Really. ~~~~-ah, would you be my girlfriend?”

I looked at him and saw his sincere eyes.
I felt my own heart flutter again. *I must be crazy. He must be crazy*

“Silence means yes. Let’s take you home now; my girlfriend needs her beauty sleep. Don’t want you to be a panda now.” L.Joe helped me with my seatbelt.

I couldn’t help but smile. L.Joe was putting on his own seatbelt and I leaned to peck him on his cheeks.  

“Maybe I am falling for you, my boyfriend.”
