Word of the eldest
The Wish of ExistenceThe next morning came as swift as the energy that was drained the night before, where Kyungsoo and Sooyeon exchange heated words. Whilst he made breakfast, he leant on the counter top, arguing with his device.
“, , ...!” grumbled softly to himself as he furiously tapped on the phone's screen, “why the hell are you grey!” he said in surrender.
On the phone's app screen, in the writing space, wrote the wish 'I want to cancel my last wish.'
“I don't want something like that... to force somebody's feelings that way for my own desires...”
He tried rewording his wish, but, the app remained persistent; grey.
“Please...!”
“Kyungsoo, what are you doing?” asked a voice standing by the door of the kitchen.
“Ah!” Kyungsoo fidgeted in place, then quickly hid the phone on his trouser pockets, praying it wouldn't be obvious, “Soojung! Nothing, I just...ah, the oil isn't being good today.” he said forcing a smile on his face while he awkwardly held onto the pan's handle and moved it around the cooker.
“Right...” she replied, unconvinced, apparent by her narrow gaze at her brother “that involves swearing?”
“Sorry...didn't mean for you to hear it.”
“Kyungsoo...” her cynic expression soften into something unreadable to Kyungsoo. She slowly approached her brother, holding herself as she strode to him, “what happened yesterday?”
“What do you mean?”
“Don't do this. Don't sweep this under the carpet and pretend it didn't happen. That's going to hurt our sister more than you think.”
Kyungsoo sighed dejectedly, lowering his gaze then his head, acknowledging that Soojung was right, and even more frustrated that he planned on doing so, “I – I don't know. I was in drama club, and I saw this great presentation by Yoona and Jongin, from the dance club. It was so good, and they propose to extend the piece by having both clubs interact and join up for the Harvest Festival.”
“What's so bad about that?”
“Soojung, you don't understand – I can't do any of that; I don't have Yoona's presence on stage, nor can I dance. I am probably the worst actor in the club.”
“But you like doing it, no?”
“I do! But... it's not enough,” he place his right palm upon his chest and continued “I won't match up to such quality; I can't bear to be the reason to drag down everybody else's efforts.”
“So...” Soojung tilted her head to side, allowing her loose flowing black hair to rest to one side. She looked to her brother in sympathy and spoke her empathy “you want to do it, but you fear being the reason that it might not be good?”
“Yes.”
“Well, what did Yoona say, or Jongin, about you not wanting to do it?”
“He said that if I enjoy it, that I should do it; that's the point of the club.”
Soojung nodded immediately, agreeing “He's right.”
“But this is the Harvest Festival – not only will the school participate, the Academy will too, right?”
“Yes.”
“Then, I can't be a negative factor in it; both clubs want to show their pride, or stand out for the others to notice. I can't stand in the way of that.”
Soojung rolled her eyes and turned away from her brother. She rubbed her forehead in irritation, “Kyungsoo, stop thinking like that! Stop thinking that you
